Molly, I just wanted to ask, i started at the same weight you did...How long has it taken to lose your weight...How are you feeling? Did you have many ups and downs and times that you didn't lose? I had my band 3/23 and I'm at 250 or so right now. I started of course at 286. I can't seem to get past the 250s for the life of me. Any advice would be wonderful! Thank you very much.. Jamie

I needed this thread. I just got banded on 3/23. I have lost about 20lbs since pre-op diet and still have about 120 lbs to go. I am so worried that I wont be able to lose it on the band. But I am bound and determined putting myself through the 4 weeks of liquid diet and the surgery itself, I will succed, there is no failure. I really needed to see all these sucess stories!! thanks for sharing!!

I finally got my date! 3/23!! I'm so excited. My husband is so very very much against this. It has been like World War 3 at my house . The doctor mentioned the bypass, but my heart and gut still say to stick w/ the band. I am worried that I wont lose enough weight w/ the band, but the outcome is what we make of it. I am determined if I am going thorugh HELL right now in my house I will make it work...I am having my surgery by Dr. Gaberialson at Geisinger in Danville. He is so cute and so super nice. I feel very comfortable with him. I was scheduled pretty quickly so its coming very fast!!

Hello everyone! I am meeting with my doctor 3/8 to get my surgery scheduled. It seems that the process has gone pretty smooth so of course I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm so worried that I have come this far and something will happen with the insurance or something. I have fought like crazy with my husband to get this surgery and I will be crushed if falls through. Anyway, just thought I would say hello to everyone and this board is great!!

I know this is a little bit off topic, but I have seen "PB" alot and I was wondering what it means? I know its not peanut butter, but I am trying like crazy to figure it out??? can someone help me?? Thanks

Okay, I hope I don't get killed for asking these questions, but I do have a few. I will be getting surgery sometime in the spring, at Geisinger in Danville. I am super excited but my hubby is not. But anyway, I was wondering I am about 120 lbs over weight, Do you think I can lose that? I am so scared, because I am worried that this wont work for me and I have lost my chance of getting gastric bypass. I know it is just a tool and I am willing to work my a$$ off, as I have done for the last 13 years. But how much does 1 lose after wards. I am at 281, anyone around that weight that has any advice? I also have a question, Danville is about 1 hour away from where I live, what would happen if I got the stomach flu? I couldnt get in a car and drive while throwing up? I'm really worried about that, cuz w/ 3 kids it is bound to happen. My 3rd questions is, I have been having some horrible low back pain, like the kind that wakes me up when I turn in bed. Hi everyone, my name is Jamie and I am new here. I am hoping to be banded in the spring. I am super excited. I wish my hubby was as excited, but hopefully he will come around. Any advice on do's and don'ts or anything would be fantastic. I love reading stories about everyone's experience.

I'm sure he will. Even if he doesn't there isn't much I can do to help him at this point. He just refuses to listen and accept it....

I feel ya on this one. Honestly, I am about 5'9 and about 281. Every single person I tell, say, "oh you aren't big enough to have that surgery".....I'm like, seriously, let me strip for you so you can see just how huge my ass is.....My husband isnt happy with me having it either. I don't really care at this point though. I love him, but I love him enough that I know I have to do this for me. My oldest daughter, 14 knows, but my 7 year old daughter and 6 year old son, don't know. I wont' be telling them either. I just wish that at least my hubby would be more supportive. But hey, my aunt and cousin are supportive and will be here to help post op even if he wont, which I'm sure he will....
