Bet you're sorry you voted for Obama now

These people are domestic terrorists. If Timothy McVeigh hadn't been put to death for being a domestic terrorist, he would be a member of the tea party.

He didn't protect this country when it counted. Under no other president did 3000 people die from a terrorist attack. So it is hardly something to brag about that he kept us safe from 9/11 on. So what? So did all the other presidents under whom 3000 people didn't die.

As if we need any more examples about what the true nature of the teabaggers - here's another one: Rep. Louise Slaughter's (D-NY) CHILDREN get death threat Tue Mar 23, 2010 at 10:07:11 AM PDT (via Balloon Juice) It's starting. Both Reps. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and Louise Slaughter had their local district offices vandalized shortly after they voted yes on the health care bill. But WHAM reports a much more disturbing update. Last Thursday she received a chilling recorded message at her campaign office. "Assassinate is the word they used... toward the children of lawmakers who voted yes." Do you see how f*****g sick these people are now? They are advocating violence towards the CHILDREN of Congressmen that voted for health care. Let that sink in. I fear all this is coming to a head, and that the epithets hurled at our Congressmen this weekend was only the beginning. And yes, I squarely place the blame on Fox News and right-wing talk radio for fanning the flames of this violent mood in this country. Balloon Juice notes that a teabagging blogger has actually taken credit for inspiring the vandalism. It's an Alabama blog called "Sipsey Street Irregulars". His excuse to every sane person's charge that this can lead to violence is this: Breaking windows is, by definition, violence to property. It is not violence to people. "I’m advocating broken windows. I’m advocating vandalism," says Mike Vanderboegh. We spoke to him by phone from his home in Pinson, Alabama. Vanderboegh is referring to his blog called Sipsey Street Irregulars. He says his invitation to "break windows...break them now" is behind the incident in Rochester and at least two others in Tucson and Kansas. The message to Democrats should be clear. .... Vanderboegh denies his blog advocates anything but vandalism. "How ambiguous is it if I say break windows? Am I saying kill people, absolutely not." We're dealing with a pretty sick puppy here. And as Balloon Juice's mistermix noted, the guy is actually on Social Security disability to boot. Now, he claims he's not responsible for any death threats, just the vandalism. For any lawyers out there, if this guy is openly calling for vandalism of Congressional offices, isn't he breaking some law? Say, the Patriot Act? USA PATRIOT 802c: DOMESTIC TERRORISM DEFINED- Section 2331 of title 18, United States Code, is amended— `(5) the term `domestic terrorism’ means activities that— `(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; `( appear to be intended— `(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; `(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or `(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and `© occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States.’. So now the teabaggers are going after kids? Can they sink any lower? Probably.

Really? This is an example of selective memory that I have been referring to with conservatives. So here I am to remind you: 9/11 HAPPENED UNDER BUSH'S WATCH. HOW DID HE PROTECT THOSE 3000 PEOPLE WHO DIED OR THIS COUNTRY FROM A TERRORIST ATTACK? ANYONE CAN CLOSE THE BARN DOOR ONCE MOST OF THE HORSES GOT OUT AND SAY, SEE NO HORSES HAVE GOTTEN OUT UNDER MY WATCH

Hate and lies sell and he's living the good life off of it. Another big right wing hypocrite. And BTW - you can get close enough to his mansion to see it? No gated community and armed guards?

Exactly. And as the American people see how this healthcare reform is actually going to play out, they will see how the right wing has lied about it. So, while America is celebrating this historic program, the angry republicans can be hunkering down, spewing forth their hate with calls of fire Pelosi, impeach Obama, repeal healthcare. I welcome them to run on this hate filled, angry, repeal healthcare, party of no platform. I will even help them get this message out. I already have my letter to the editor in mind.

Didn't limbaugh say he was moving to Costa Rica if healthcare passed? What's keeping him? Let's start an online campaign to wish him good-bye. And good riddance.

First of all, I am not your dear. Secondly, when someone or some group is racist, I call it like I see it. When a group holds up signs with the N word, calls black representatives racial slurs and spits on them, then I accurately call them racists. And BTW, I knew it wasn't your last word on the subject.
  10. Oh, it's obvious now, huh? I already explained this but since you seem to need a remedial course here it is again. The anti-abortion democrats in the house had what they thought was stronger language against federal funding for abortions than what the Senate had. This was called the Stupak amendment. There was NO federal funding for abortion in the bill, but being the zealots that they are, they wanted added assurances. The Senate bill that the house voted on had language to make sure there was no federal tax dollars in the insurance exchange used for abortion coverage. But this language didn't satisfy the anti-abortion democrats in the house. Stupak and his 7 followers were holding out their vote until Pres. Obama signed the executive order. It satisfied him and the others. But - now here is the important part - NONE OF THAT WAS NECESSARY BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE BILL THAT ALLOWED FEDERAL FUNDS TO BE USED FOR ABORTION. I believe it was done just to provide political cover for those anti-abortion democrats when they run in November. They wanted to be able to say to their constituents that they did this, because the anti-abortionists are so unreasonable as to expect this. The Hyde Amendment is the law of the land and nothing in this bill changes this. Now, when you try to make your case AGAINST this healthcare you don't seem to have any trouble finding what's in it - so once more I say: SHOW ME THE PRO-ABORTION LANGUAGE IN THIS BILL OR STOP SAYING IT CONTAINS IT. PERIOD. And here is my question to you: If the American people were not allowed to read this bill (sinisterly hidden - ooohhh) then how is it that you, and the right wing political pundits you quote, know so much about what is in it? And what it will and won't do and cost?

This is why we need a public option to keep the costs down and offer REAL competition to the greedy private insurance companies. And if in the end, most people and employers would choose the less expensive government program and the greedy, private health insurance industry would go out of business then I would just have one thing to say: Yeah!
  12. Cleo's Mom

Bet you're sorry you voted for Obama now

I certainly don't hate white people but I am embarrassed by white racists who are well represented in this tea party movement. And somehow I doubt it's the last said from you on this subject. If only that were true.
  13. Quote exactly the serious pro-abortion parts of this bill. Give me that page number and the exact language. Either do that or shut up about this bill being pro-abortion. I will not allow you to lie anymore. Put up or shut up.

The postings by you extremists on the right (those who stand for and advocate for the insurance industry) are all over the place with your criticisms. It shows a real panic and desperation. Because the lies are getting more exaggerated. First it's about the cost of healthcare, then it's about government take over or about a ride on Air Force One, etc.. Zero credibility. Just zero. Nothing you say is true, yet alone making any sense.
  16. Cleo's Mom

Bet you're sorry you voted for Obama now

Exactly. This underscores what I have been saying about the teabaggers all along. They are a white, racist, middle class group that hates Pres. Obama. They didn't vote for him and are angry that he won. Yeah, the old white man is no longer in the White House. A person of color is. And the fact that he is a democrat and a progressive/liberal just makes it worse for them. And they hate, hate, hate that. So, they try to use "legitimate" outlets for this hate: the deficit, spending, healthcare, government programs. As if none of these things existed before Pres. Obama was elected. The basis of their movement is their hatred of Pres. Obama. From the birthers to the deathers, to those who throw money at a man with Parkinson's, hold up a sign with the N word, hurl racial and anti-gay slurs at our elected representatives and who spit on them. This is the tea party. It is not just a few extremists. They are all extremist. They try to say they aren't republicans. But they are. They have many of their offices in GOP headquarters. And the republicans embrace them, too.

It WAS a scheduled flight to Ohio, Rep. Kuchinich's home state, where Pres. Obama spoke about healthcare reform. It was a scheduled town hall meeting.

All presidents use Air Force One. It is budgeted for. That is not money that otherwise would be used for something else. And if the president takes senators aboard a flight he is already taking, it doesn't add to the cost. How many people could the insurance companies insure (that they kicked off) with the money they used to lobby against healthcare reform?

Social Security a sham? Every month millions of people get their checks on time. Every month, every one of them. Now, by contrast, how's that 401(k) and retirement plan working out for you the last couple of years? Mine tanked like everyone else's. Government plan: 1 Private Plan: 0

The government is bankrupt? Well, by contrast, I guess that means that private industry is doing just fine. Oh wait, they aren't. GM, Chrysler, Lehman Brothers, AIG, Bear Stearns, Countrywide, etc.. Didn't they go bankrupt playing russian roulette with our money? Hmmm. How can that be if the government is the problem? It wasn't our government that got us into the economic disaster that we faced in the fall 2008, it was corporate america. Eleven scariest words in the English language: I am a wall street bank and I want your money.

Everything has a cost. But it would cost MORE to do nothing about healthcare, which is 1/6 of our economy. We all benefit from people who have insurance because that makes us collectively a healthier nation. Less time missed from work. Good for the employer. More demand for healthcare will increase jobs in the healthcare industry. More jobs means more people are paying taxes, which helps reduce the deficit. It all has a domino effect and it will be good.

There are tax breaks for small business owners and more choice for them in choosing healthcare plans. And why would a doctor accept new patients that he/she couldn't care for? And what sweeping changes will affect a thriving practice and what are these higher overhead costs? And business owners don't determine the premiums of healthcare, the greedy insurance companies do. It there had been a public option, they wouldn't be able to raise premiums. Hmmm.

There are many mandates in life. Mortgage insurance before you buy a house, car insurance before you can drive, immunizations before you can enter school. It's part of living in a civilized society. This idea of "freedoms" being taken away is just baloney. Hooey!! And who said this was an independent country? We are a country of laws and rules and regulations. And that's as it should be.
