after u get a fill, liquid diet & purred diet?
godloveshope2 replied to Karen85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My Dr. tells me 2 days liquid, 2 days pureed, 2 days soft then introduce solids and keep well hydrated during this time and remember the band rules. My Dr have his lapbanders on this regimen because of the swelling after a fill and to decrease the chances of PB or vomiting due to swelling of the stoma and to decrease to risk of band slippage caused by vomiting/PB'ing. There are times though when the 2 days of pureed is out the window and I go to soft. -
How many CC's in your Inamed 10cc band?
godloveshope2 replied to shortgal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have the Advanced platform small Band 10cc. I currently have 6.8cc in my band and have good restriction. Especially in the mornings. I go back for another fill Jan 25th depending on my weight loss. I just might need a small tweek of 0.1cc we shall see. I found this other thread regarding the AP small 10cc band. Happy reading and Merry Christmas!!!! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f13/if-you-have-ap-lapband-please-respond-42692/ -
If you have the AP lapband please respond

So far I collected the following information with thanks from my doctor and other AP bandsters: They are either APS (small, 10cc) or APL (large, 14cc). They are considered by some to be "the next generation in AGBs". They are considered less likely to cause blockage or obstruction than other AGP types. They are considered less likely to slip than other AGP types. They are considered to be less likely to cause band erosion than other AGP types. Like the VG band it is "Omniform" technology - i.e. the balloon has ribs or baffles and the band itself is curved. The AP has more of a 360 inflation around the stomach as opposed to the 10cm or 9.75cm (4cc) bands, which have more like 260 or 280 degrees inflation (the rest being the buckle), and the VG which has more like 280 or 300. It is understood that this was simply an upgrade to the existing band to make it easier and less traumatic to remove. The silicone material is much softer than other AGP types. They are more concentric (rounded) when inflated than other AGB types. The balloon is pleated to 'grip' the stomach better. The balloon goes all the way around the inner surface of the band, rather than missing a piece at the locking mechanism. The balloon is wider. A sideview of the band shows the balloon protruding top & bottom rather than sitting flush. They have an easier release mechanism to remove the band if need be. They have the locking mechanism isolated from the stomach. AP type bands have been FDA approved for the US, but will not be available until the summer at the earliest. We understand that there are NO plans at this time to discontinue any of the bands Allergan already makes. They still plan to manufacture and offer the 10cm and the 9.75cm (the 4cc) bands as well as the VG band. Hey U all I also found this link for technical information regarding the APS and APL. Its a little long. http://www.lapbandcentral.com/lapban...dfu/L013-2.pdf Happy Reading!!!! -

I had my 4th fill on Nov 1st and initial the Dr. wanted to bump me up from 6cc to 8cc of saline in may 10cc APS Band because I had my 3rd fill in Oct 9th and went from 5cc to 6cc and when came back this time I had gained a little over a pound. The nurse that does the fills hand concerns because of the episode that I had back in August where they took me from 4 cc to 5.5 cc and I could not even swallow my own spit. So she took me up to 8 cc and gave me boost to drink and sure enough the Fluid was not going through. So she backed me down to 7 cc total. I was able to drink the boost in small sips no problem. Well it is now day 3 and I don't feel pain but I feel pressure and like the liquid is backed up to my throat and I know that it is going through but it is very very slow. Today I was at work and I used 30cc cups and taking very small sips to drink my Water and my Protein shake. I feel like I did right after surgery back in June. I am only getting in maybe 500cc of water and 500cc of Protein Shake each day for the last 2 days. today I did try some pureed bean Soup only 3 teaspoons and I felt full. I know that there is swelling involved after a fill. But is this normal? I should be going to pureed foods for the next 2 days then soft foods for 2 days but I think I wills stay with liquids for a few more days. Since my fill I have Pb'd 2 times and that was in the middle of the night going into the second day. I have not PB any since then but the liquids go down slow. I have decided that if I continue to feel this discomfort I may go for a small unfill. But I will wait because in August I thought that I had found my sweet spot but after the swelling went away I was still able to consume the same amount that I did be for I had the adjustment with out any problems. -
Just got banded-Post Op diet question??
godloveshope2 replied to podna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Check with your surgeons office befor making changes to your diet instructios.
I will be having my surgery on june 5, this is the diet my surgeon put me on.

Pre op 2 week diet full liquids

Post Op Clear liquids for 3 days then full liquids for 2 weeks in small amounts (Need to get that Protein in)

Next 2 week pureed

Next 2 week soft

Then gradually introduce new foods some may be tolorated and some won't.

A clear liquid diet was only to be for several days that is standard for any one. Because it does not provide the nutrition necessary to sustain the functions of the body for long periods of time.
-

godloveshope2 posted a topic in Rants & Raves
Just thought I would take a little poll to see if this country is ready for a change. 1. Would you vote for a woman president? 2. Would that woman be Hillary Clinton? Just a poll to see the views of this forum. -

Explain your concept of "race is not an issue, ideology is" Because from where I sit race has been an issue in this country until people get the idea that we are humankind first before we are a race. Maybe I am missing something in your statement. -

Not being prejudice, but I do think that the string of cacasain males have dominated this country long enough. Change need to come. Yes, I would vote for a Black Male president or a White or Black female president if the have a good track record and have the best interest for this country. -
The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research
godloveshope2 replied to Tired_Old_Man's topic in Rants & Raves
Everyone has and opinion and mankind or womankind always find ways to support those opinions by any means necessary and damn what may be truth. Whether Christian, athiest, any other religious sect mankind always find a way to support their case right, wrong or indifferent. If human kind has an agenda they will bust hell wide open to have it and will destroy any thing or any one to have what they desire even if it is an opinion. Now don't get it twisted I don't see why babies are being born to parents that are not prepared for parenthood and I have empathy for those who seek abortions. What ever decisions people make who are we to judge because they are the ones that have to live with it and all have a right to their views. But man has always tried to be God. Man, over time have used scripture to support his/her agenda. In my opinion if you a pro stem cell research that is fine you have a right to your opinion, that is your view but when you bring scripture into something to justify man's own agenda to me it is kind of offensive. -
I beleive that I have chosen my Weigh loss tool. That would be the lap band. I am going to trust God that he will give me the band that I am suppose to have at the right time and the right place. Now I will continue to research and attend the seminars. I have to decide on what surgeon and program I want to go with. I have faith in God that he will be with me in this journey to weight loss. Empowerment Begins when you take control of your life, when you recognize that you have had enough, when you take appropriate steps to make order out of what happens and when it will happen in your life.
