Thank you we are so excited and can't wait to find out exactly how many are in there :-) I went to my lap band dr on Wednesday and he said to just do what I'm doing and unless I'm losing weight or not gaining properly then he doesn't need to take any Fluid out! So far so good :-)

Hi everyone! First off Angie I'm sorry to hear about the negative test. I know how that feels after ttc for 6 years and 4 of those years with fertility specialists! We finished our Ivf cycle and on Monday 16th I found out I am pregnant we are thrilled and find out in a couple weeks how many are in there since we transferred 2 embryos. Angie have faith and know that it will work...I heard that from others all the time and it's hard to listen but I just tried to stay positive and realize that its in GODS hands so I let go. Good luck to u and I hope for the best
  3. Have had my lap band since November 2010. My husband and I just had a fertility procedure done on Saturday may 5th called an IUI w/ clomid. I had a very high progesterone level when they tested me last Friday it was 93! The nurse was extremely positive about it. I am just wondering if symptoms with pregnancy r any different with lap band than without?! This would be my first baby if all goes well and I think I'm just really over thinking things right now cause its so close to the time I get to take a pregnancy test.
  4. I had my surgery November 2010 and hit my goal in November 2011 of 115 lb loss! I went from a size 18-20 to now I'm in 4-6! Still crazy to me but so happy that I dd it and wouldn't change a thing :-) I had port revision surgery in October 2011 due to my original port tilting with my weight loss but went well and no other issues!

    First Fill!!

My dr had me go in every 3 weeks for the first 90 days
  6. Well the IUI we did on may 5th did not work so we have decided to move forward And do invitro! I have started all meds and looks like the procedure will be July 2nd for egg Retreival and 5-7th ( one of those days) for transfer :-) so excited and praying this is it!!!!
  7. Hi there....my husband and I ttc for 3 years prior to me getting lap band. We went to a fertility specialist and he said nothing was wrong with either one of us but if I could get some weight off it would help. I started at 253 lbs and within a year I lost 110 lbs which honestly was amazing! The lap band dr told me if I had the surgery then we would need to wait at least a years before trying again. I was ok with that because even though we want children bad and have been together 11 years (married 6yrs) we figured if it's better all around for my health and for children than its worth it! I hit a yr post surgery November 2011 and due to switching insurance we waited to start trying again until January 2012. We had no success on our own so we did an IUI (which was actually my second...did one pre surgery) an no success. We have been seeing a different specialist in Denver Colorado and he said the most IuI he recommends is 3 because your chances actually go down each time you do it. So we opted to try IVF! The dr is very positive of this working because again (second opinion) neither one of us had any issues. I am now at normal weight (sounds weird to say) and we are in the middle of the process. I have egg Retreival done July 2nd and then transfer done July 5th or 7th! Very excited!!!! So that's my long story but I think what's one more year of waiting for babies if it means your and the baby health! I say go to the class see what you think and make a decision that works for you and your husband :-) I am here if you have any more questions...just stay positive and know that everyone is different and you have a different path than the rest of us do choose what makes since in your life Good Luck!

Good luck Angie! I'm praying for u and ur hubby! I can't wait to hear how everything goes....and btw I agree if people can't say anything positive then don't say anything at all! Plus the best advice I received from someone was..."everyones ivf experience is different so you can't go off of what someone else says!" AGREED! Just stay positive and enjoy the experience :-) My personal thought is GOD has a plan for all of us and what anyone else tells me about their opinion on what could happen doesn't matter cause it's not in their hands :-) I started some meds and going in for ultrasound and labs Wednesday and then starting the rest of the (stem) meds Thursday then on r way! Can't wait..,,tentative retrieval date is July 2nd and Transfer either July 5th or 7th :-) Yay! Good luck to us all!

I got my calendar with all the dates for the start of meds for IVF! So excited...we r in Colorado and will be seeing Dr. Schoolcraft who has been on tv because Julianna Ransik from E news came to see him and people from all over fly out here to go to his fertility clinic! I'm excited to go to such an amazing clinic and to live within 40 min of it :-) I will start all my meds the 10th and the retrieval date is tentatively July 2nd...so excited and so ready to get going!!!! Good Luck and stay positive...there's a plan for all of us and it will happen when it's supposed to :-)

I can be your buddy through this because I'm going to start IVF real soon too. I have struggled with infertility for awhile. My husband and I tried or 3 years prior to my band and nothing was wrong with either one of us except my weight. So I had lap band done in November 2010 and have lost more than my goal 113 lbs! We started trying again in January and have done 2 IUI procedures that obviously didn't work :-( So as of today we r moving forward to IVF and the dr office will call me Monday to let me know if I can do it this cycle or have to wait until next ( just found out today that IUI was negative). I pray an hope all goes well for both of us...its a hard thing to go through but I try to stay positive that it has to be the right timing and all will work out :-)
  11. Thanks everyone for the responses! Although I'm used to being banded now and comfortable with it...pregnancy is new to me and something I've wanted and tried for for over 3 yrs but only tried for a few months since being banded! Hope this is it :-) I will post Saturday after I test :-)

    Iui W/ Clomid

Thank you so much! I really appreciate all the positive replies :-) I have kept very positive this round and am in a really great place in my life now soaybe this is it!!!
  13. History: my husband and I ttc for about 3 yrs and with all the tests and everything we went through we both were told we were perfectly fine we have unexplained infertility at the time I weighed 253 lbs and was told I was on my way to type 2 diabetes. We decided to take a break from trying and I looked into lap band which I have to say was the best thing I could have done I had the surgery in November 2010. Within one year I lost 110 lbs! I now weigh 140 lbs and couldn't feel healthier Life is good. We started ttc again on our own in January and with no luck went to a different specialist who is highly recommended! We just did an IUI procedure on May 5th and last Friday they had me go in for a progesterone test. The nurse called and said that they want to see the level at 15 or higher and if it's below that the. I go on some kind of supplement. She said they consider 40 to be high and to not get my hopes up but mine was 93! She was very positive without working me up too much in case I'm not pregnant! I have until Saturday then I can test...I'm nervous but excited :-) does anyone have input on the high progesterone level? Has anyone been through anything like this?

    Iui W/ Clomid

Thanks Marci! I appreciate the reply. Did you end up adopting any children? It's such a hard thing to go through....infertility is no joke! I don't think some people understand how stressful it can be especially when the dr's tell you there's nothing wrong at all! I fell like the progesterone level is a good sign and that this might finally be it for us but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much! Colleen

    First Fill!!

I had my surgery in November 2010 and my dr had me go in 3 weeks after surgery and every 3weeks after that for the first 90 days cause that's what my insurance covered! It worked great for me that way....I followed everything to a T and within a year I lost 110 lbs! Good Luck everyone :-)
  16. Im having lap band surgery on the 23rd....so I say go for it!
  17. Thank you Amy! I am going to contact the OB and see what they say....I appreciate your response
  18. Hi new here! My husband and I have been ttc for 3 yrs with fertility drugs etc. No luck:( I have pcos and have had surgery for endometriosis but they found none and said I am very healthy. Although healthy I am overweight and know that if I get the weight off pregnancy is more likely to happen! The fertility dr even said other than my weight nothing else is preventing me from getting pregnant. So here I am now approved for lap band and scheduled to have it done this coming week Tuesday 23rd! I have very regular periods usually 30 day cycles sometimes 32-34 but typically 30 I expected to get it on Saturday which would have been day 30 but now at day 34 still not here! I have taken 2 tests but both were negative. Could it be nerves, could it be pre surgery diet, could something be throwing me off or am I possibly pregnant now and its not showing? My pre op appointment is Monday what if it's not here by then? Help.....please! I'm so confused
