Any Feb bandster gotten a fill yet?
KeeKee99 replied to justplaintired's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my first fill yesterday! I had 1.6 cc in it to begin with - so he just put in .4cc to top it up to 2cc! Told me they go about this very conservatively and slowly - which I don't mind at all...this way I don't get any complications. I do feel that I get fuller a heck of a lot quicker and I don't get hungry so quickly which rocks my world! -

What type of pre-op diet are you on, and how are you doing?
KeeKee99 replied to Elle23's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi everyone! I'm on Day 12 of my 21 day pre op diet. I get four Opifast shakes a day, plus all of the green veggies I want. This does not include carrots or peas or potatoes - you know, the starchy stuff! The first few days were horrible...I was weak, and miserable - but the last couple of days have actually been pretty good! And I've lost 16 lbs!! I've just been trying to keep my eyes on the prize and look at the big picture. I do have a weird craving though...for bananas! I would kill someone for a banana right now...lol Cheers! Kristy -

I'm on Day seven! Yesterday was probably the most rough day I've had so far, but I'm pushing through! I'm on 900 calories a day which consists of four Opifast shakes and just green veggies...I came close to quitting yesterday, I won't lie - but lean on the people you need the most! My co-workers have been totally awesome too... And...I'm down 11.7 lbs since Thursday! THAT is what is keeping me going! Hang in there! WE can do it!!

February 2011 Bandsters?
KeeKee99 replied to justplaintired's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on day five of my pre-op diet and can say that it's probably been the hardest thing I have ever done. The first two days were just brutal - but I am starting to feel a bit better and not so weak. I am on all of the non-starchy vegetables I want plus four Optifast shakes a day - which equals approx 900 calories a day. I am still doing my workouts at the gym, but just at much less intensity. I have three weeks of this and my surgery date is February 11th. Great news is that I have lost 9.3 lbs in four days! That is what is keeping me going! Good luck to everyone! Kristy -
February 2011 Bandsters?
KeeKee99 replied to justplaintired's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is scheduled for February 11th too! I start my pre-op diet on January 20th...this will consist of four Optifast shakes a day and all of the green veggies I want - which totals about 900 calories a day. It is the only thing I'm really nervous about! I'm so looking forward to this next chapter in my life. I'm going to be able to do so much more! Kristy -
January 2011 Bandsters....??
KeeKee99 replied to blondeej's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date is set for January 24th! I start my three week pre-op diet on January 3rd...I think that is what I'm mainly anxious about - the pre-op diet and if I will be able to function while being on it. I work out at a gym 5-6 times a week and two of those days with a personal trainer. We have discussed how we are going to modify my workouts so that I'm not expending a whole lot of energy...it should be interesting to say the least:unsure: All I'm gonna do is "keep my eye on the prize" cause in the end, it will be the biggest prize ever!! I just had my first consultation appointment today with Dr. Neale Church at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary - he also works with Dr. Mitchell. I went through the Weight Management Program through the Calgary Health Region. He said he could do the surgery as early as middle of December! But I have a trip coming up to Vegas and have to cover my partner at work at Christmas, so I am hoping for January. Dr. Church was great - explained everything in detail and was very patient with me. I have also met Dr. Mitchell and thought he was very nice too. Kristy

Hi everyone! I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself...My name is Kristy and I started this journey back in early July - I was referred to the Calgary Weight Management Group and started the lifestyle and weight management classes. I received notification on November 9th that I was accepted for the lap band surgery. Unfortunately, the Calgary Health Region only covers 25 surgeries a year - I am so fortunate to have been chosen. I have been very physically active and know that that will help me reach my goal even more. I'm 38 years old, married and have two fur babies. I go to my first Lap Band meeting tonight and am going to be purchasing my Optifast liquid pre op diet. I also see the surgeon for the first time for my consultation tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous, but excited as well! Looking forward to interacting and getting as much advice on here as I can... Looking forward to meeting lots of people and getting support! Kristy
