Starting 2 week liquid diet tomorrow

I started my liquid diet on the 27th and have now finished my 8th day. The first day was a bit difficult, but the second day I realized that if I had about 10 grams of protein every two hours my hunger was controled much better. By the third day I was fine and no longer worried. I can honestly say I have not had any caffine, carbonation or food for the past 8 days. Like my son always say to me "Keep your eye on the prize". Stay focused and you will do great!

    anyone else feel this way

I am on day 5 of my liquid diet - I have to do it for 14 days. The first 2 days were the worst. Each day is getting better. I have found if I have 10 grams of protien about every two hours my hunger is so much more under control or if I drink a large glass of Water when I feel hungry then the water will fill me up. My Procedure day is on the 10th so we are both on the same track. Hang in there - we can do this - think about the end result!

    Need Help with Soda Addiction

Well if you are a sweet tea girl - I am too. Make yourself some tea and use Stevia Sweetner - It is super sweet and has no calories. That might get you off of the pepsi. I just started my liquid diet and am now officially off carbonated and cafinated drinks. The next step could be to move to Decaf Tea with Stevia. I am drinking Green Tea (Because I like it - It does taste much different than regular tea.) Since you have time now you could try different types of tea. There are tons of flavors of sugar free Mixes that you can add to Water bottles. They are super convient and easy to grab. I drank a ton of pop too and decided that the convience of a can was a big reason why I drank them - Now I have water bottles and a bunch of different mixes- I keep them in my car so if I stop at a gas station I can grab a water and I can mix it there. Those are a few ideas that I have been using. Hope this will help.

  9. Hi All - This is my first official post to ALL. I have been doing all of the pre op things that you have to do and now my journey will begin tomorrow. Tomorrow I will begin a 2 week Pre-op liquid diet. I have been reading everyone's posts and trying to prepare myself for this. I have been having the same feelings as some of you - Will I ever be able to eat bread again? Today I want to eat the items I will not be able to eat again for a while. I really think I will struggle with the mental hunger and have been trying to identify triggers - so I can avoid them. I am hoping to keep myself busy the next couple of weeks so I don't make everyone around me crazy. I am a pretty steady person and I can not believe I am having stress about it. I think it is just like the first day of school and a new job. The unknown is a little disturbing. I can focus on the things I have control over. Making sure I eat the right food and making sure I stay active will help quite a bit. Here's to a wonderful new year - I wish all of you the best. This will be an interesting year.

    January 2011 Sleevers

I start my Preop diet tomorrow - My Px is scheduled for January 10th. We will be on the same road! Good luck to both of us and here's to a new beginning in 2011.
  12. Hi - I am new and am glad I found this page. I do not have my band - YET - But plan on becoming a "Band" member in 2011.

I am excited to start this journey and hope to find friends along the way. Right now I am going to need a little support - but I hope to provide support once I am on my way.

I have my 1st appointment scheduled for December 1st and I am hoping to have my procedure done right after the first of the year. I will update as I move along the way - I have a lot of questions.

My first question is about Scuba Diving with the band - Does anyone know if there are guidelines on this? How soon after your surgery can you begin to dive? Do you have to have the band deflated before you go diving? Any other information that you have would be very much appreciated.
