Glad to have found this group. Believe it or not I am 50 and am glad to be part of this group. I got my first tattoo about 5 years to Celebrate the life of my mother that passed. She is also my inspiration to get this weight off. She left this world way too soon. Her death certificate does not say she died of obestity, but the complications of her obesity, lead to her early death. I celebrated by approval for my surgery with a butterfly that is flying away. I put it on my chest, so that everytime I look in the mirror, it reminds me of this gift and to make the most of it. On a side note, not that I have the bug, I added another set of butterflies and flowers to represent my kids and grandkids. The reasons why I need to get my health back, so I can be a part of their lives for a long time!!

Being emotional is all part of the process. It is very normal in the early stages. You whole system has just got turned around. It will take a few months before it settles down. -
grazing (good) alternatives
MOMW replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was and still can be a grazer. What I do is plan my days food to incorporate my grazing tendency. I break down my meals so I eat about every 2 to 3 hours. I plan on two of these meals after supper as this is my worse time. This works for me. Good luck in finding what works for you. -
Sorry about your struggle. We all have them. Glad that you are taking control now. I eould suggest try eating like you did in the beginning and get your protein shake in. This should shock your body back. If you the gym, change your routine. If not get up and walk, outside at the mall or wherever, and climb somr stairs. It is all movement. Come to the boards for suppprt. I am in weight watchers and this is great for weekly support and accountability. Hope this helps. You are too important to waste this gift of surgery and better health.

I use 3 cheap weekly pill containers. One for morning one for afternoon and one for evening. I dish out all of them plus my meds one day a week. I kmow then what I have taken.
-
I do not use gas x myself but get up and move around as that should help.
-
I do the pictures but never thought about the silhouette. That would have been neat too.
-
I only do a 1/4 c. My dietitian only has us count protein. But I only do the quarter cup to save on the carbs.
-
I like the yoplait frozen greek yogurt. They have one with honey that is great. It has more protein than regular.

MOMW replied to JennyBeth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on this next step. Keep strong. Your date will be here soon -
Don't beat yourself up. You are human and this will happen. I think sometimes when such a big goal is right in front us, we subconsciously think we don't deserve it and are scared. So, we resort back to our OLD way of life. Good luck. Just go back to basics, come here and look at your success. You DO deserve it and have earned it.

MOMW replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One key to help slow the hair loss is to get you protein in. -
Measuring Surgery Success
MOMW replied to AlbanyDan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take my measurements too. Sometimes as the scale slows the inches go down. Clothing size I use some but it only is a good measure if you use the same style and from the same store. -
Here is what the local paper had to say about my success story...

Surgeon said weightloss might be done - short of personal goal
MOMW replied to Catracks's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Great attitude. Sometimes going back to those basics can break a stall. Good luck. -
Best advice is to keep the positive attitude and an eye on the prize. At this point learn. This forum will give lots of insight into all aspects of a sleever. I have weight loss surgery for dummies and that is an excellent resource for all aspects of this life, before during and after. Good luck

Congrats!!! Keep the excitement as a new you is about to emerge.

I used the stage 2 fruits and vegetables for the ease. They are very tolerable. I had done baby food meats with my band and was not impressed. For my sleeve I pureed in my blender what the family had. Much better.

So sorry meant to say don't give up. -
Depression and anxiety anyone?
MOMW replied to SamED's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sorry that this part of your journey has been rough. Right now you are just overloaded, but I assure you that it will get easier as you get used to your new needs. I am certain that no one feels you are a burden. Your needs are just different right now. If you are on mess or of you are not, it may be time to check in with them. I know from my own experience and from the boards, that the med that used to work may need to be changed. I had to have by dosage altered to a 2 time a day instead of the once a day. Keep coming back here for support. And give up, you have come too far. -
Sleep study has been scheduled!
MOMW replied to sbekch's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep the faith. Glad that part is over for you. On to the next step to the new you. -
You are going through one of the trying times that will thankfully be just a memory soon. Keep your eye on the prize and a positive attitude My suggestion is to speak to your Bariatric team. They should be able to help and may see that you are to progress some.

I would have done the same. That is great. My nsv yesterday happened when I had to buy medium scrub bottoms for my new job. I have never been a medium anything.
