Not seeing the new you is very common. I decided to take a picture and measurements each month. I can see the transformation through these, but I still see me in the mirror So just take a look at some old pictures and you'll see it too The other tool I use is a photographic height and weight chart.

My best piece of advice is to get and walk. I went twice a day and each day a little farther. It helped clear my mind, got me in the routine of exercice and me heal faster.

Welcome too. Stay strong and keep a good attitude. Come back here often. Itchy incisions are a nuisance. I was glad when all the glue was gone that covered mine -
Letter from Cigna... not denied yet
MOMW replied to ArcusX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck. The insurance is probably the most frustrating parts for those of us who are lucky enough to have insurance cover it. To ease your mind, call your Bariatric Team and make sure they got the letter and that they will be responding promptly. They are pulling for you, and want to see you suceed too. -
Yoplait frozen greek yogurt is pretty good too statwise. But, I am definately going to look the Health Choice too when I go grocery shopping this week. Thanks for sharing.

Lots of pain almost 1 month post-op HELP
MOMW replied to Samantha227's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had a revision from a band to a sleeve. The only time I had pain afer the initial period, was a few times on my left side when I was working out. You are doing the right thing by letting your surgeon know. I definately would go to ER and best if it the ER where you had surgery at. ER physicians are not always well versed in our needs, but at least there you have a better chance that they are and they would also have access to your bariatric team. Good luck and hope you feel better soon. -

Glad to be part of this group. I too have left my 20s, 30s and 40s behind. I am 50. I was sleeved 7 months ago. I had a band for a year prior to that, but it slipped. My physician suggested the sleeve and I am glad he did. We not may lose as fast, and don't tone up as quickly, but we have the knowledge and committment behind us. We know that this is for us!

Thanks for the great info! I know I have found that so many nonbariatric physicians are just not as informed on our needs as we need them to be. Thanks!

Thoughts and prayers are with you. Yes you did get dealt a rotten piece of luck. Someday he will see you and realize what he lost out on. But, please don't give into smoking. All the good you have done for your body, shouldn't be tarnished by that habit. Don't let the smoking become your addiction nor let food. Come here and we have support and encouragment to give. Just remember that God will not give you what you cannot handle.

I am 7 months out and I can tolerate. 1 soda per week. But in order to enjoy it has to be from a fountain, allowed to sit for awhile and drank slowly.

1 week post surgery and wondering ...
MOMW replied to andthen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like what you are experiencing is the releasing of the co2 used during your surgery. Try a heating pad or someone else suggested shoulder rolls. Walking also helps. Just keep on going the end result is worth it. -
Good job! Keep up the good work

Prayers your way. Keep your faith. God obviously is working in your life. We will always be here but you need to care for yourself right now.

I can understand the frustration. But your body is trying to adjust to this change. Your body is trying to hold on the fat and save it from starvation. Your journey is totally normal. One day the scale will move. Also I hope you took your measurements and a picture of yourself preop. These help me to see my progress when I feel frustrated. Our weight did not go on overnight nor will it leave us overnight. Keep it up. You are worth it!

You look great! Great work! I hope I can look that nice in a swimsuit!

Fabulous!! There is nothing like a nsv to make a wonderful trip even better. Keep up the good work! -
My dietitian has never had me count calories. I am 7 months post op, but had a band for one year prior. The plan I am to follow is to get 10 servings of protein each day and then add in fruits and vegetables and limiting carbs. Of course all the other fluids, exercise, etc also apply. My experience on stalls is to first examine if I am doing something that is negatively affecting my journey, like too big of portions, too many treats, activity is not challenging. If this ok then I just keep on going with the knowledge that my body will reward me soon. Good luck. Come back for support.
