TMI, but I need to know. So I'm 8 days post-op and started light bleeding. It is almost like the beginning of a period, but I'm not due for one for another 2 weeks. Then the part that really freaked me out is blood in my stool. It isn't a lot, but is definitely there. I've had no problems in terms of energy, keeping liquids and food down (egg, cheese, other soft Proteins - I'm definitely on one of the less strict diets in terms of being able to eat soft foods post op 6 days. I was sent home with those blood thinner shots and just took my last one this morning. I have of course called my dr. and am laying here ( self-prescribed bed rest) waiting to hear back. The only thing I can think of was overdoing the walking at 5 days post-op when I walked costco for 2.5 hours (dumb I know). Since then my belly has felt a little crampy and I had some pain in my drain site when waking up and getting out of bed the next day. Thoughts??? Did this happen to anyone else?

I really feel for you. I was eating soft proteins at day 6, and anything I wanted by 4 weeks since I wasn't having any issues. It is strange how there are such drastic differences! -
6 days post-op, 90+degrees here in KC and was dying for a drink other than Water. So, I went to Sonic and ordered myself a special treat - Medium Diet Cherry Flavored Limeade (w/lime juice and cherries) MADE WITH WATER (not pop) and it is soooooo yummy - gotta love the ice too! Here are the totals: Calories = 14 Carbs = 3 Sugar = 1 Sodium = 6 I just went to their online site and you can configure your drink however and it automatically pops up your totals. PS Make sure you say DIET cherry because the regular cherry flavoring has way too many carbs/sugars.

I started eggs at 6 days post-op (yes, the nut. Plan) and I have not had any issues at all.

Red Velvet Gang- How Ya Doing?
finallyformyself replied to meggiep's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey everyone! I had surgery on May 4th. I was very lucky not to have any bad side effects, including no gas pains which I think I was dreading the most. In hindsight, I think having a previous horrible c-section experience made this surgery much easier. I am also on a post-op diet that some of you might want to kill me for. Since day 6 I have been allowed a soft protein diet, skipping the puree food altogether. My nut. Said my teeth were my blender. I was nervous at first, but haven't had any problems. It is so crazy only being able to eat half an egg then feel stuffed! For me, I struggle most with not being able to drink while eating and not being able to put much food in my mouth. I was a fast, high volume eater before and having to relearn the sleeve way of eating is a challenge with each meal. I hate shakes post-op and am not getting in enough protein...need to work on that. Down 17 pounds since surgery but tapering off now. Oh, anyone else get a period that they weren't expecting? Ugh, 2 weeks early and BAD! -
What all do you track?

Wow, that is sooooo far from the truth! And as a teacher, I'm not so sure this is the type of person I would want around my children. So sorry that happened to you!

Hello everyone! I tried to upload a word document but it said there was a problem. Then, I tried the simple uploader and had the same issue. Any suggestions? Thanks, Finally

I want a ticker and for the life of me can't figure it out. Am also wanting to transfer my current OH blog to my blog on VSG. Need to get this all figured out!

Is this an over the counter thing?

I've heard that this can be one of those things that are difficult to get down early on...if ever. I love it and am dying to have a bite of a dark chocolate Atkins coconut protein bar. Would love your experience with coconut.
