How is it possible to have 7.5ccs in my 12cc band, and still have very little restriction? Could my band be leaking? or is my surgeon missing the port and just injecting into my stomach? im confused and a little discouraged that ive only lost 9 lbs since Nov3rd (preop diet) I havent started exercising just yet because of port soreness. Anyone else have this problem?

Since my revision surgery in may, i have had zero motivation to work out. I try my best to eat good, but it seems like every weekend its someones birthday or some event that i have to attend, and eating out is difficult for me. I choose bad things like spinach and artichoke dip over a salad because i know it goes down easier. I also havea hard time not drinking while eating! I need to find motivation somehow.. i paid too much money to have this surgery and for it not to work for me is just a shame. So if anyone has any tips for motivation or anything please let me know Thanks!!

Not to freak you out, but when I lost restriction suddenly, and could eat whatever I wanted the bands latch had come undone from "scar tissue". I had to have revision surgery which was done just last week and now im back to liquids for a while. i hope that its just a phaze of tight and loose for you! good luck!

So I had my surgery November 10th, 2010. From day one after the surgery I was able to eat chicken salad and smushy things with no problems, i went right past the liquid stage because apparently they said eat what you can tolerate. So its been 6 months, i was able to eat anything i wanted in pretty decent amounts and never had anything stuck or anything like that. I was almost at full capacity. 13.5 cc in a 14 cc band, and only at a 20lb loss. i knew something wasnt right. I had an x-ray and apparently the band became "un-latched". the part that held it together was not in place and had to be fixed. They immediately set me up for revision surgery .I had the surgery yesterday and boy what a difference! i get full after a popsicle, or 2 bites of applesauce and i only have 4 cc's in there. Im so happy that i can finally be on my way to getting healthy and losing weight!

Do you eat the entire lean cuisine pizza? those are my favorite!! -
Its interesting to see that most of you cant tolerate bread or pasta! I do eat subwa,y not very often ,but i can finish most of a 6 inch veggie! i think the surgeons used to big of a band on me cause i have never had anything stuck or had any pain when swallowing and im about at max capacity. I sort of wish i couldnt eat bread or crackers cause then maybe id see the scale move. i am a carboholic!

I just got my third fill on tuesday morning. I have 9 ccs in a 12cc band. i feel like that is alot of cc's, and the dr said i should have been ok with 6-7 cc's. with 9cc i get full faster and definatly eat less but i dont have problems with soda or bread and i am hungry again 3 hours later. Does anyone else have 9 or more cc's in their band and have this problem?

November 2010 Bandsters - post op

So I got my 5th fill this morning.. my doc says 5 lbs in one month is not very good and that at 10cc's in a 14cc band, I should not be able to eat an entire lean cuisine/frozen dinner type thing. I dont have an answer for him! Ive never had a stuck episode and yet i do feel some retriction, i am only satisfied for 2 hours or so. I get my protein in and all that fun stuff but i just dont get it. He added two more cc's and wants me to have a video swallow on friday because he thinks my band may have slipped up. Wouldnt I have pain or some indicator that the band was out of place? Advice please! -

I would not be a happy camper with no carbs!! I am doing weight watchers and its helping tremendously. i was stalled at a 10lbs loss for 2 months after surgery and this ww diet jump started it back up again. I can still eat a pretty decent amount, but just recently i started eating only when my stomach growled. In my prebanded days i would eat breakfast right when i woke up whether my stomach was growling or not. Head hunger is my biggest battle. Its confusing to me how some people only needs a few cc's and they are at there "sweet spot", and im almost to my fill max and not satisfied. I have some restriction, but i wish i had the no hunger part! Its great to see what some of your surgeons tell everyone. I didnt realize that average amount of people lose under 50 lbs the first year. Good luck to everyone and keep up the excellent work! -
I had my surgery around the same time as you did, and havent lost much either. I recently joined weight watchers since the band has helped with portion control, now i need to follow a diet. I dont have difficulty eating anything which kinda sucks, i almost wish i had a stuck feeling so i wouldnt be tempted to eat certain things! My band is always tighter in the morning so i think thats a normal thing ive seen alot on here. I think even if I did this the old fashioned healthy way i wouldnt have lost as much as i have in this time frame. i think it averages to a pound a week which is good, and the slower you lose the less saggy skin problems! so dont be frustrated, keep your chin up and 25lbs is awesome!! maybe if you try your liquid diet for a couple days or get a slight unfill so your not in pain when eating veggies. good luck!

Will I ever find proper restriction???
Melly26 replied to zeniada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you were banded in may and have already lost over 100lbs?? im only 6 months behind you and have barely made a dent! \ -
I have a friend who had lost atleast 50lbs by the time 4 months rolled around. I am still stuck at an 18lb loss in 4 months. I walk or jog when i can, not on a schedule or anything, and i do weight watchers. I am restricted somewhat but my friend says i shouldnt be able to finish a lean cuisine or 6oz of grilled chicken and a cup of broccoli, that i should have 3 bites and be satisfied. Im wondering if i need another fill, which would bring me close to maxing out. any advice would be helpful
-
I dont have problems with any type of meat or bread like you, and i almost wish i did, because those are what get me in trouble! so i have found other ways thru weight watchers with the 100 calorie mini cupcakes and i am satisfied. i usually try and wait until my stomach is growling to eat, even if my head is telling me different. Since i am on weight watchers the new program is carb based, so im really not sure the calorie amount i am getting since its the point system. i just wish it would come off a little faster so i can see results and get motivated, thats all. and working full time and school full time and being a single mom is exhausting!! it leaves little time for exercise

I have quite a few tattoos on my lower legs and some on my back. My question to anyone who has tattoos is, did they change at all? shrink? look warped after losing alot of weight? I am curious and a little nervous to see how much they change! thanks!

13 1/2 cc in 14 cc band, 2 fills, and no restriction
Melly26 replied to futurefab's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded 11/10/10, and just got another fill yesterday which brings me to 10.2cc in a 13cc band, and am just now starting to get restriction. Everyone is different and I honestly think they used to big of a band on me in the first place. If i would have had a Lap Band small i think i would have had more success. But oh well! Good luck to you and hopefully they can figure out what is going on -
Being a female, will my fills ever stop?
Melly26 replied to donnalemaster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a 12cc band and im at 9cc's as well. I have never had a sliming incident or vomiting or anything and i can eat whatever i want. I just started weight watchers a week ago in hopes that it will move the weight loss process along since i havent lost nearly as much as other people around my surgery date have.. its a little discouraging, i know its a tool and not magic but i expected a little more out of it. i am going for my next fill next week which will probably bring me to 10ccs. good luck and hopefully the next fill does the trick! -

I am definatley a slow loser. Even at 9 ccs i dont feel that much restriction, but i feel like 9cc's is a lot compared to all the other people on here. There is nothing that i can't eat, which is probably why i have only lost 12 lbs since November! I just joined weight watchers this week, so i am hoping that this will help me get over my poor eating habits, and i can start to see the results that i want! It amazes me that other people with the same surgery date have lost 60-80lbs! its amazing and inspiring, and i hope that i dont become a failure with this too.
