I'm 5' 4" (ok, I'm really 5' 3.75", but like to round up!). My goal is 130lbs. My doctor was fine with that. I'm sure when I get closer to that weight I'll make a more educated decision about it. I chose that weight from the BMI chart.
Hang in there. I also had a hernia repair and that for me was more painful than the LAP band surgery itself. I got alot of air bubbles that I wasn't used to before and that what most of my internal pain. I would definately check on getting a prescription pain med that is liquid. Mine tasted nasty but was a life saver for the first few days. Good luck and try to take things slow.
Hi everyone...I'm new to the forums. I was banded on Oct 7th and I've lost about 10 lbs so far. I had my first fill today. I'm *trying* not to get discouraged. My mom has been banded for over a year (she's lost 120 lbs) and said that she didn't feel restriction until her 3rd fill. I guess I just need to be more patient, keep eating healthy and stop comparing myself to others.
I'm doing ok. I had my first fill today. I am still able to eat what seems to be alot of food. I had Soup for lunch today and 2 hours later I was starving. My mom has been banded for over a year and she said it took her 3 fills before she felt restriction. I have lost 10 lbs so far and while I'm *trying* not to compare myself to others, it's hard not to. I'm trying to be patient and eat better. I know its a process and it will get better.
