Try putting a pillow under the side you want to sleep on. Thats what I did. I still have trouble sleeping on my side but the pillow works good.

I was a self pay and it took about 6 weeks.

I was bannded on Jan 23,2007. I have am eating scrambled eggs, Tuna, baked fish adkin snack bars. Are you dinking Protein shakes? I usually drink one for Breakfast. If you are hungry try some eggs or something soft like eggs.:hungry: Water will not stop you from being hungry.

It will be 14 days Tues and I am still sore where my port is.

BabyGotBack, How long was your stomach sore for? Today is day 5 for me and I was just wondering. I am still getting shoulder pain every now again. I am returning to work tomorrow. I will try and make it all day but I sit for 12 hours and was thinking i may need to lay down a little.

Hi, Congrats on making the decision. I know it is a scary decision, but i have read a lot about it on this site and researched for about a year. So many people are here to answer your questions. I think everybody I know, knows I was getting this done. I am not keeping it a secret. I feel that it is my decision, not anyone else. People that are not overweight have know idea of what people that are over weight go through in the real world. That is why I don't care what people said about me getting this. This is your life not anyone else. My father was not for this at all but actually he is the one person that always told me something about my weight. I will show him I can do it.

Well today is day 4 and I feel pretty good, just a little soreness in the belly. I find that when I walk for a good while I start getting really sore in the stomach. I guess I am trying to do too much. I went to the store this morning for protein powder and my little girl decides she wants to walk around and look at everything, well that really wore me out. If anyone is interested in a protein drink recipe, this is reallly good. Take a 16oz bottle of water one small pack of the orange crystal light, and one scoop of vanilla protein powder. It is really good! If anyone has bad shoulder pain from the gas, a heating pad works really good. Well I hope everyone is going great. My mom was bannded 1 hour before me and she is not feeling too good. She says she is really dizzy and light headed in the morning. She is getting a lot of protein and fluids in, so I don't know what would be doing that to her. Well i will chat with you guys later. Keep it up.

Today was my 2nd day. Not bad at all. I just wish the shoulder gas pains would just go away completly, they come and go. The ones that don't get the gas pains are the really lucky ones, because other than that I don't really hurt. Does anyone know if eating Egg-Drop soup now, would hurt? I didn't know about the eggs in it. I would love to have some of that right now, but as far as I can say I am really not hungry. I can't believe that! Well Iam back from being bandded. I have bad shoulder pains from the gas. I have been walking but nothing has happen. Does anyone have a suggestion? As for as my cuts the only one that I really feel is where my ports at. My mother was bannded today also and she has no gas pains, Lucky for her. She is just a little sore. I guess the pain will be worst tomorrow, after sleeping. I will try to wake my self up to walk. I wish this shoulder pain would go away.

I went through the same thing with a few people. Especially my dad, he always told me something about my weight, that I needed to do something. He doesn't have a weight problem so what would he know. Now that Iam having this surgery, he can't see me spending this kind of money. He thinks I should just diet and take diet pills like his wife, that is just 15-20 lbs overweight. I have been doing this for life. I don't listen to anyone that trys to discourage me anymore. I have made up my mind! So do what you think will work for you. By the way my mother is backing me up 100%, she is getting it done 1 hour before me. Don't let anyone thats never had a weight problem change your mine, they don't know how hard it is. Hope you make the right decision for you.

Thanks for the information. One Doctor here said Slimfast, my Doctor said Optifast. They want me to do 5 optifast and one small meal a day. Optifast has 7 packs in a box for 15.00. I think that cost too much. Thats almost a box a day. I think I will just stick with the Slim Fast. Its not that much difference in the two. Thanks so much for giving your opinion.

Well today is the day I have to quit smoking. So for so good. I don't know how it will go after I eat something. My doctor told me I have to be smoke free 2 weeks before surgery. Is there anybody in the same boat? Did anyones Doctor advised to do Slim Fast 2 weeks before? My Doctor told me to do Optifast 2 weeks before. That stuff is a little costly. I am doing Slimfast, I hope that does not mess things up. I just think they want you to loose 10lbs before surgery, so it would not matter how you loose it. Does anyone think differently?

Well I will sure be ready for a glass of wine or something 4 weeks after surgery. So I sure hope I can have it . Good Luck to everyone!

I was told you should wait about 2 years after losing weight before getting any kind of plastic surgery. Does your skin really start molding to your new body?
