karewpah replied to FernandinaGin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found I had that when I was on liquids or when I am not getting my water in -

Wheni'm stressed the band gets super tight. Maybe some yoga at home in the evening when the kids are in bed? Some warm herbal tea? The warmth will sooth and relax the band (does for me) When this happens to me, I just ride it out, get my Water and Protein in and enjoy the weight loss

We're all a little mental...at least I am I think the new clothes will help you...they'll motivate you...you'll feel better and that will translate to a loss on the scale. Maybe change things up a little bit with food/exercise....some times the body just needs a jolt Congrats on the new clothes!

Does Fhis Look Infected?
karewpah replied to lrhodes46's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If it gets worse go to the ER...until then, follow the cleaning instructions of farm girl...I would -
To the OP...I had a slip early on. The stats say you are more likely to slip again and I think it's because A slip usually happens when we're not following the rules We are creatures of habit and behaviors are incredibly hard to change Commit to the rules and to the behavior change needed and you should be just fine

Does Fhis Look Infected?
karewpah replied to lrhodes46's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Looks redder than mine did 3 weeks out. If it's not warm, not *****, the put some steri tape on it a leave it be. You could see a nurse or Dr who would be able to assess directly -
Not Much Weight Lost And Hi Yall
karewpah replied to Whitney Cunningham's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just think...if you're only half way attempting this...if you fully committed and dedicated yourself to it, the weight would almost fly off. So only 20 lbs in 5 months...low end of the range, but still in the range and know that you won't see those lbs again Might be time for a fill to get you into the green zone where you feel satisfied with less for longer And remember...it's a marathon not a sprint...btw...congrats on the total40 pound loss...that IS quite an accomplishment -
Low Bmi Lap Band, Is It All Worth It?
karewpah replied to Comet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was low with a BMI of 33 when I was banded. From Initial consultation to surgery day it was 1 month. I was self pay...I don't regret it -
I'm with Maddysgram...get to a healthy BMI...I've rarely seen people at the top end of their BMI that look sick. Sometimes people say that...and they mean well...but they're so used to us being the chubby ones that they have an unconcious motivation to control where we end up. Might not be the case here...maybe there's a vein of it...just my 2cents. Great job @ getting to Onderland!

How To Tighten A Lap Band Without A Port Head?
karewpah replied to model's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck with it all model...I hope you don't ever need a fill, otherwise, how would they do it? Let's hope there wasn't something else going on further up the tubing... The whole thing boggles the mind. I would think you might appreciate the oddness of your story and that people were/are shocked by it. Further, most people responding WEREworried about your health, both mental and physical. If you don't care for a wide variety of responses, maybe an open forum online community of fatties is not for you. -
How To Tighten A Lap Band Without A Port Head?
karewpah replied to model's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where did you get that quote from Elcee...was it in a different post...by model? This whole topic is completely bizarre to me. I am sympathetic at the fact that model has a tube sticking out of her, but can't wrap my head around someone with a normal BMI getting this surgery. I call into question the original poster mental condition and the surgeon's professional integrity. -

Diet like most people with a normal BMI do -
Nil per os (alternatively nihil/non/nulla per os) (NPO) is a medical instruction meaning to withhold oral food and fluids from a patient for various reasons. It is a Latin phrase which translates as "nothing through the mouth". In the United Kingdom, it is translated as nil by mouth (NBM) Very interesting indeed.
-
Wouldn't that be NBM? I think it's Nothing Pre Op perhaps

Tim, as long as you can get liquids in and are not dehydrating yourself...you're ok for now. Stick with water based protein drinks so that you're getting protein and water in. I'm in a similar situation myself, have been for about a week. I'm not too tight, my band is just playing fickle with ,e right now due to stress, weather pressure...who knows

I had my surgery late in week (Friday) so I was only off sick that day and back on Monday
