3rd fill for band to begin working
karewpah replied to maggie1011's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think it is different for each person. I lost most of my weight with little or no fill. -
How long to wait for an unfill?
karewpah replied to lizzy2150's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wait 3-4 days and then reassess. If still too tight, then go to your dr -
Way to go...you're doing awesome...keep up the great work!!

I find it painless. My Dr doesn't use any numbing either. Takes less than a minute and you're good to go! honestly, the flu shot is worse.

You're likely swollen. Take small sips of Water today and try some other liquids like broth tomorrow. You could very well be swollen. You might also have a bit of a bug...so hang out here right now and if you can get sips of water in you are good. Let the swelling go down. If you start to have acid reflux or you find that you're vomitting stomach acid in your sleep...then get to your dr asap.

how do i get re-motivated and back on track???
karewpah replied to dontgoggilme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Take each day one at a time. When I slip and fall off the wagon I choose 2 small things to do each and eeryday. Recently it was: Get my Vitamins in...and get 3 litres of Water in. And I committed to myself that I would do it for a week. By the end of the week, that was easy. I also noticed at the end of that week that I wasn't eating as many sweets. The next week I committed to getting to the gym 4 times...check, done! and by the end of the first week the scale had moved, end of the second week, again! And then I got a slight fill...and I am pretty sure I'm in my green zone...so it's all on me now. I've my weight doesn't move, it's because I'm not working the band. Go bag to the basics...get yourself hydrated..then walk for 30 minutes...when you feel the urge to eat, the do something else with your hands....like drink some water or paint your nails. The bottom line is...you have to want it...no one else can want it for you. You have to find what motivates you. Wishing you renewed motivation -
Patyann...that's really spot on! I agree with you 100%

Sudden Acid Reflux need advice
karewpah replied to Meerkat135's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do liquids and monitor. You've probably aggravated things and have some swelling. -
Ging.er tea might work. It could last a couple of days or weeks as you heal from surgery. For me it lasted 2 weeks and then it was gone. Feel better soon Mark. It's all worth it in the end

Maria the pop is likely the needle entering the port My Dr has me on liquids for 24 hours following a fill and not solids, so do be cautious. I think you'll find your band is just fine. And remember, just because you CAN eat more doesn't mean you should. Hope you are well

Surgery is booked (SWLC)...feeling completely overwhelmed!
karewpah replied to skinnybitch72's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Dr Coburn is awesome and you're in good hands. Take a deep breath and dive it...it's a short swim to the other side. Congrats! -
It was no problem really. Take it easy, use the Mede if needed. I was best friends with my heating pad and gasx plus walking. Some discomfort but it's all worth it!

Mississauga and SWLC with Dr Coburn... It's an awesome journey!

Tatta Tamer from Lululemon...I love it!

Follow the plan. Proteins first, the veggies, then starches as need. What did your surgeon advise you to except post surgery?
-
Did she get a picture of your pouch? Can't tellnthat from your post. If she did and it's stretched then you need an unfill, unless you want further surgery... You decide. I, personally, have been there, done that.

Both Dr Mumford and Dr Coburn are great...Dr Coburn has an AWESOME bedside manor and is a very caring, hard working Dr.
