    Waiting!!!

My papers were sent on the 21 of March to BCBS we can wait together. I haven't called insurance yet but I keep going onto website to see if it is in system. I will call on Monday....kind of afraid to get rejected , you are correct this is the hardest part.
  2. Well I have finally gotten to the point for sending papers in for approval to BCBS Highmark today!!!! After 7 months I am excited and stressed over waiting for approval. Here is my big frustration and I don't know what to do. The nurse asks me today If I have decided which procedure I have to do, now mind you this is the 4th time they have asked me that and I am still telling them lapband. She says to me that DR Rashid is not really doing too many of those procedures anymore because it doesn't work......What now....... I told her to put papers in for lapband.........I think I will prove them wrong..... Should I be concerned with his lack of confidence in the procedure.
  3. For the past 7 month I have jumped through hoops to get all my insurance requirements done and as of Last Tuesday I had my last PCP supervised visit. As of today they have not yet been able to fax to surgeon the correct paperwork. They have faxed my entire history...28 years worth but not the last 7 months of time. I feel like I have to go and get my file and fax the docs myself. Oh Boy just blowin' off alittle steam Thanks for listening.
  4. I am on my last month of physician supervised visits, and I get the same discouragement from my surgeon, even when I went to Support Group meeting the people who had Lap Band seemed to struggle with weight loss though they were all losing it was at a much slower rate than bypass. When I mentioned that I was undecided as to which surgery to choose lap band or bypass (sleeve is not option for me) all by passers were very quick to push bypass while the lap banders sat quietly while I gave my reasons why I was leaning toward lap band. Then slowly one by one they encouraged me to continue on that path because even though they were losing slowly that were all very happy with their decision. Also, when I looked around the room the lap banders were they ones with great skin color, bright eyes, and no hair loss. That stuck with me the most, yes,I need to lose weight but I want to do it with the best long term health consequence. I do not want to become deficit in other areas. I need something to guide me toward making the right choices to lose weight and change my bad habits. Lap band, I feel is that tool, along with support from my WLS center, websites like this, and good support system I am finally going to win this war of unhealthy weight gain.
  5. Hi, I am new to posting on the site, have been reading for awhile. I have 2 more months of Dr appt's and then should be ready to be submit for approval to insurance. I am hoping all goes well in that area. My biggest concern and struggle now is am I going to be able to make this work? If I could control my emotional eating would I have this weight problem that I have. I do not believe that I have gone hungry in 2 years, I eat all day long. How once I have the surgery will I be able to stop the grazing that I do. Will the band help me with that!
