  1. Hey all! I don't think I ever introduced myself when I first joined this, so I'll give a little info now. My names Amber, I'm 16 and I live in Kansas. I had lapband surgery December 18th 2006, and I did *really* well, but due to age and insurance, I never got my first fill til March 2007 (I've actually taken my case clear to the state governor, met with State Representatives, and several lobbyists all involved with my case) I'm now going for my second fill tomorrow *crosses fingers* but thats still up in the air because the doctor had called tonight saying my insurance wouldn't approve but, my mom plans on us going up there anyways since its mandatory that the insurance pays for whatever is needed or the state will pick up the rest of the costs. Anyways, on with a little history (sorry I tend to ramble on) I started out at 367.4, I went down to 323.6, and now I'm back around 350. I have tried multiple things to lose weight, and the actual reason I had the lapband was because I have primary lymphedema in both legs, and down 95% of my left side from shoulder down. We (my family, doctors, and I) decided to experiment and see if maybe they could trigger my lymphnodes into working correctly, if successful once I'm back on track, I should lose most of the Fluid weight, and then they plan to go in and do more tests to see what my problem is exactly. I do live life as a pretty "normal" teenager I'd like to think. I go to High School (online) because it was thought to be for my own good and to keep me up to date, Also to keep me on track to go on to college (I plan on getting a masters in business finance, and becoming an investment banker) Alrighty, I think thats a pretty good introduction for me.
