My names Caitlyn. I'm 20 years young. I'm from Long Island, New York. This is a diary of my journey to weight loss and how I am tired of just being a "pretty face."

All my life I have struggled with my weight. I have been over weight my whole life. During high school i was always very active, and even though i was over weight i maintained it with the sports. Since i graduated and stopped playing sports, I am at the highest weight I've ever been.

I found out threw blood test during pre-surgical testing that i have border line high cholesterol and the on set of type two diabetes. Which really scares me, cause that is not something a 20 year old should have.

Weight struggle is on both sides of my family. I want to be able to set and example for all my family and friends that are suffering from obesity. To show them that it is possible to lose weight, and look and feel the way you want to.

To all of the people that say weight loss surgery is a waist of time, or it is the easy way out. You obviously don't understand the struggle of weight loss. There is no easy way out when it comes to that. Even though I am having surgery, it is not a "quick fix" I will still have to work at it, and bust my ass to reach my goal weight!

A friend of mine had lap band, and inspired me to do the same. Im having Lap Band surgery February 16th, 2011. I hope to lose about 200 pounds!

I have gotten so much inspiration from watching other people's videos here on you-tube I decided I wanted to be able to do the same for other people and help them through their journey as they watch mine!
