    6 months post op!

    Thanks for the advice kelly!
  2. You have gotten some good advice from the previous posters. Tracking your food, measuring and weighing it, try changing up your workout routine (in particular incorporate some strength training), make sure you getting enough water as well. Going to the nutritionist really helped me see what I was doing wrong with my eating. Perhaps you could try that. Sometimes shaking things up a bit is all thats needed to get the scale moving again. Good luck to you!

    WINE>> WINE WINE

Today is my 6 month anniversary of being banded and I drink wine...never had a problem. I think most doctors advise against it because of the calories. Congratulations!

  10. Congrats to everyone! Ya'll are doing so well! As for me, I have been feeling like something is stuck in my throat all day. I had a fill a couple weeks ago which brought me to 5.25cc. I felt fine afterwards but maybe its now getting tighter? I havent had anything to eat, just coffee. Is that what restriction feels like. I'm almost 6 months out and haven't had that feeling before. Congrats again!

    Green Zone here I come!

Good morning everyone! Hope you are doing well. Its been a while since I posted here so let me catch you up on what's been going on. I went for my 5th fill last week, I now have 5.25cc's in a 10cc band. I think I'm getting very close to where I need to be. I have lost 3lbs since last week. I usually lose after a fill anyway because I have to do liquids on the fill day, soft food the next and regular food the next. I have not had a stuck episode or any throwing up (Thank God!) I try to be very careful about chewing and small portions. When i first got my fill (yall may think this is crazy) I timed how long it took for water to go through my band....it took 4 seconds when it used to go right through before.Am I the only one that does this? I stay full longer on less food now. But it's not the 4-5 hours that will signify the green zone. I have been trying different things like greek yogurt and more protein rich foods. Greek yogurt is great and has 14-16 grams of protein depending on the flavor and if I eat it for breakfast, it keeps me until lunch. I think I, like some others, thought that the weight would just fall off after surgery. I have learned that is not the case. I also thought the band would prevent me from eating. That is not the case. I was always told it was a tool and I am convinced of that now. Now when I eat, I take my time and stop at a certain point. If I'm still hungry after a few minutes, I will eat a little more. But most times I find that I'm full. Its hard to tell that when I'm constantly shoving food down my throat. 6/9 will be my 6 month anniversary, and I have lost 47lbs. (weighed 244 this morning) Even though I have been losing slow, I feel better, I look better, I enjoy working out, and I'm in a size 16 comfortably!! Hang in there everyone!!

It's almsot been a year since my surgery!

Congrats!! Good Luck to you in the future!
  20. Good luck to you Natasha!

  21. Good Luck to you Kym!!

  22. You may not need another one in 2 weeks. A 5.5 fill seems mighty large! I had surgery in December and I'm only at 5.25 right now.

    BALLING MY EYES OUT!

Almost two years post op and twenty pounds heavier :(

Did they unfill your band? If so, maybe they can refill it and you start over again?
  25. I was banded 12/9/10 and I'm having similar issues. I have been back and forth with the same 2-3lbs for 3 weeks. I decided to take a closer inventory of my behavior today. I started a journal and I'm going to track my carbs, calories and protein. I know I'm not getting the recommended protein. Exercise is not a problem for me. I workout 4 days a week doing a variety of stuff: Zumba, kickboxing, weight training and step. I'm losing inches because my clothes are getting way to big, but the scale is NOT moving! I'm currently in a size 16 (no W) and I used to wear a 22w. I'm determined not to give up! I'm going back for a fill this week, since surgery I have not had any restriction at all. Everything I have done up to this point has been willpower. I have 5cc's in a 10cc band. I'm hoping my next fill will get me back to where I need to be. Good luck December Bandsters!
