Was underweight, almost anorexic looking until I had a series of injuries that resulted several surgeries over a 10 year period which made me unable to excercise and gain a lot of weight. Then had a few babies which made me gain even more weight. Overall since the inital injury gained almost 180 pounds. Finally after being almost 300 pounds, starting to have physical limitations and health issues as a result of my weight, I decided I needed to do this both for me and my kids. I didn't want to be dead before they were in high school...continuing to gain weight at the rate I was, I truly believe I was eating myself to death. It's been a long year and a lot of work but I'm down 70 pounds and want to lose at least 70 more. It's been hard the past month b/c I've been overeating and not concentrating on myself and very stressed at work so I need to re-focus on my journey and start again. I'm going to see my doctor in a week so hopefully will feel a renewal after a pep talk. I haven't gone thru any support programs but I want to start going as I'm feeling insecure about continuing to lose at the moment and maybe others will help me as well. I think this was totally worth it and I feel so much better than I have in the past few years. I'm hoping to feel even better as the weight continues to come off. I haven't shared this "secret" with anyone but my immediate family and have decided not to until I'm done losing so that I don't have people trying to sabotage my weight loss. As I've been losing I never discussed my "diet" with anyone....just waited for people to notice the loss on their own. Feels so good hearing people say "you're looking great" or "you've lost a lot of weight, haven't you?" If you are hesitant, go for it, I've found it to be life-altering only in good ways!!!
