Hope you're better!! chicken is one of the things I have the worse time with, so I'm extremely careful eating it especially white meat because it is so dry. The foam you're spitting up is your saliva that has no where to go, it should pass very soon. Don't try to drink anything cause that will make it worse!! I usually try to get up and walk and try to burp to make a little more room for it to go down. It is a horrible feeling, but in time you will find it doesn't happen as much because you're going to be very conscience of what you put in your mouth. Best of luck!

I tell everyone that I was banded, not only does this give me the extra push I need but if there is only one other person out there that this band can help then I'm all for that!! I am not ashamed of being banded, I did it for myself and no one else!! Once I get to my goal, I will be one of the best supporters of the band I can be!! They will want to hire me to be their spokesperson LOL

Went Monday for a check up and thought he would give me a fill, but he said I was doing good and no fill was needed. I think he is very strict and as long as you're losing 1-2lbs a week, he's not going to fill me. I took in 6-weeks of food diary and most were over 1,000 calories and I had lost 6.5lbs. I have been working out, so I'm sure that's helped more than anything. He says at 2.5 cc he feels I'm in the right area I should be. He said if I start getting full in between meals that all I had to do was call. Has anyone else been 13-weeks post op and are already at the "green zone" with only 2.5 cc in the band?

This forum is a wonderful place to go for advise, I did not mean to come across rude by any means. I just found it amusing about the oral part, and could only imagine either an ungodly huge tongue or something else that I know most people would not be able to withstand. Really, wish the best of luck and did not mean to offend you in any way. It just completely hit my funny bone!

puking white foam wiith no reason
Jonna replied to sabris91's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What did you eat? That's what it feels like and does when you've eaten something and it can't get through your band opening. -
LMBO!!! I think the one that gets me the most is if it will effect orally...........If you're with someone that it could, I would say you're not going to be around long enough to see if it will effect you!!!! WOW!

My Insurance company required me to have mine done at a Center of Excellence, which is normally a Hospital setting. I would not have any surgery of this degree in an Outpatient Center. That's just my preference. Best of Luck to you!!

Walk, Walk, Walk my gas pains lasted for over 2-weeks, plus I had the worse case of nausea. Exactly 2-weeks to the day, I woke up and set up in bed and said wow I feel great. Just be patient, I promise it will all be better soon!!

I plan on flying to Florida for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Now that they have the new "screening" where they actually x-ray you through security, does anyone know if the band can cause you problems there??
-
Thanks everyone!!! Lakegirl, I know exactly what you mean about fitting into the seat. The last time I flew was about 4 1/2 years ago and I was totally humiliated when I couldn't get the seatbelt fastened and had to ask for an extension. Thank God, one of my best friends was with me and she took it upon herself to go up front and quietly ask for one. She kind of put it under her shirt and brought it back to me. Know one sitting around me knew anything about it. I am about 50lbs lighter since that time, so I am hopeful it won't happen this time.

Week 3 after surgery and nervous
Jonna replied to num1diva1026's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't worry, everything will go as it should. I gained 6lbs in my 3rd week and was so down on myself, but the 4th week I lost that 6lbs plus and extra 4lbs. Your body is healing and is wondering what in the world is she doing to me, it is fighting back because it doesn't understand what is going on. Just hang in there, it will be just fine! -
I had my first fill on August 18th, for the 1st week it was wonderful and I could really see a difference in the amount of food I could eat. I am now starting to be able to eat more and more food, so I really have to watch my portion sizes. Is this normal for a fill to lose its effect so soon?? What am I doing wrong?

What's up? My weight! That's what.
Jonna replied to BaileyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 6/30 and I did the exact same thing! I gained 6 pounds the week I started my solids, but low and behold a week later I was down 9lbs. Just keep doing what you are, it will all come together! -
I did not have to do a pre-diet, but was told liquids 2-weeks post op. I was about 7-8 days post op and couldn't take it anymore, so I ate apple sauce, mashed potatoes and soup broth. The masked potatoes really helped me get over the faint and nausea I had for 2-weeks after surgery.

I haven't experienced that, but it sounds like maybe there's they filled to much. I use chewable Flintstone Multi-vitamins.

I just got my first fill on August 18th and my surgery was June 30th. About 3-4 weeks post op, I could basically eat anything I wanted. I promise you after a fill, you will surely see a difference in what you can eat and how much. Best of luck to you!

Went to have my first fill yesterday, he had originally said he didn't think I needed one because he was happy with my 24lb weight loss in 6-weeks. I told him I didn't ride for 2-hours for nothing, so he put in 1.5cc but I wasn't able to get water down easily. It was so weird, as soon as he pulled back on it I felt the water slide right on down. That is something to experience to know this is going to help keep me from eating a lot. I have a question, do have to be on strict liquids for 3 days? Please give me some feedback. Thanks!

1st fill Whoop Whoop!!!
Jonna replied to CurlyDiva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my 1st fill yesterday too, but only got 1cc. He started with 1.5cc, but when I was drinking the water I felt tightness so he pulled out .5 cc's. He said you shouldn't feel that tightness, so I'm glad he took some out. -
I was banded on Jun 39th. GET GAS-X right away and start taking it!! It really helps and so does walking a lot. I had severe gas pains for 2-weeks after surgery, everyone is different. I also had really bad nausea for 2-weeks, but now I feel better than I have in 3-4 years.

I have to wear glasses or contacts because I am blind as a bat seeing far away, I am able to read close up with my glasses or contacts. However, after surgery I had to take my glasses off in order to read my cell phone or read anything close. Now it seems as things are back to normal, thank goodness!

I would say the first thing you have to do is forget about everything else, but yourself and your children. You did this for you and them, no one else! I am married, but believe me I have stress too. I find myself now cleaning a lot more when I am stressed, because no matter what I am not allowing anyone to bust my bubble with my new life with the band. Just remember, you're allowing someone else to control your emotions. YOU are in control of what and who you allow to do that!
