Hi Christina, I'm from Oregon too, down neer Roseburg. If your In. co. don't go for it like mine, I had to self pay and I'm going next Tue. for my pre-op, then wed for the band. It's costing us around $8,000 us. but worth every penny when it works. My Dr. is Dr.Kuri and he is in TJ. Mexico. I have herd the sometimes he will GIVE a band to People if they can't aford it eny other way..This Dr. is one of the best Doc. in Mexico and the USA..Good luck Ted

Tidefan, I'm able to get fills from Dr. Kuri free if I go to his office in Mexico, so when where were there and I need one great. But for the ones I know I'll need sooner I can go to Eugene Or. neer where I live, and there $150.

If you are I ,think your wife Libby answerd a thread for Jan. bands in Mexico..Its great to know about someone else going on the same day..What day and time are you getting in to SD. for the trip to TJ?? we get in around 12:06 pm on United for the Tue. pre-op stuff -------------------------------------- Hey guys thinking about a TT, I'm also thinking along that line and I checked about going to Thai land for it. They have the best prices and you can have a vac. too out of it..all you need is a passport, time and oh ya cash money...lol ------------------------------------- For you guys that had this already do they have to put a catheter on for the Op.??????

Hey tidefan, I know about the Doc in denver but Dr. Kuri from Mexico has done more bands, he and Dr. Ortiz are some of the best in Mexico..(or the USA) kwhenrykerr : Being a guys group we don't have to hear about someone breaking a nail off, or you know..lol I need to lose about 125+lbs if I can. When I was younger I lost 40lbs in about a month, but those days are long gone..

Hi Bhemguy, congrats!! Hope all will stay good. I can't wait to go for my turn at getting the band. I see that you where a self pay too, it must be a little cheaper back east then here, that's one of the reason I'm going to Mexico. My band, Doc. fees, hotel was all included for about $8,000.00 us. I looked around here in the northwest and its running about $16-22,000 or more wow thats a lot for a self pay. Can you tell me what to expect after getting the band, like pain, gas or ? Thanks Ted

Mexico, I have heard that he and his team are one of the very best around (Mexico and USA)Do you have a date yet? Hi all, Just got back from our cruise to Mexico. My wife and I tryed to be good with all the food, but you know how that go's:hungry: . I gained 5 pounds for the whole trip, but lost it since Saturday when the cruise ended. I'm just counting the days now, its only 8 more day till my band "Fred" or what ever I name him:rolleyes: . We fly out next Tuesday for Mexico, and when we get there I have to do my pre-op tests for the banding on Wed. I'm glad too here that you all are doing good and started to lose weight..I really like the old but in the air gas trick :clap2: ..LOL..Keep up all the good work people..Ted

Hello all , just checking in. I have been reading about most of you having to do a pre-op diet of clear liquids 1 to 2 weeks beforehand , and it got me thinking my pre-op diet, so I checked my paper work that the DR. sent and I could not find it. So I called to find out about the diet and was surprised to find out since my BMI is not that high , I don't have to go on the diet.:clap2: :hungry: I will try to be good while were on our cruise next week and try to eat salad's and other good food:rolleyes: . It looks like I might be the only guy here on these posting is this true ?:nervous Well, its OK if it is:) The wife said its time to start our cruise packing:tired so gotta go, Ted

Hi all, I have been reading about alot of you doing a lot of tests and then your pre op tests a long time befor your bands, I get my pre op stuff done the day we get to Mexico and then get my band is the very next day..I guess I'll count myself as lucky in that way. I'm really starting to think about getting my band and was wishing the 31st was sooner then it is, but I'm only 10 days away from our 7day cruise:hungry: so that will make the time go bye faster..:biggrin1: Is there anybody new that is going to TJ Mexico to see Dr. Kuri with me on the 31st ? Hello, I'm a self pay and I'm going to T.J. Mexico to see one of mexicos best Dr's. The Dr's name is Dr.Pedro Kuri checkhim out on the web. My price was $8950.00 and a $500.00 discount for getting a date of surg. picked out befor the end of Dec. and they give free fills. My banding is 1/31/07 my wife and I are going 1 day befor the surg. to do the pre-op tests, oh the price includes 1 or 2 days in a nice Hotel and free pick up and return to the air port in San Diago..Hope this helps,Ted P.S. Just a little hi to you all,I'm going to get my band in Mexico Jan 31st 2007 even though I only live about 65 miles from Coos bay (in Sutherlin )and the Dr. there.I'm going to one of the best DR'S in and out of the USA. for lap band Dr.Kuri in TJ Mexico has done well over 2,000+ lap bands and is very good at what he does,and the price for self pay is not bad ether, Mine is going to be $8450,00 inculeds Hotel after,the band and all the surgry stuff pre and post,pick up at the airport (San Diago)and back,and free fill's for life..or I can go to Eugene for a fill @ $150.00,and the doc in coos bay is $300..So if you have not gotten your band yet check out the Kuri team in Mexico.C-Ya..Ted :biggrin1:

Hello all, as I said I'm new here and I'm going to have my band with Dr. Kuri Jan. 31st 2007.There is no doubt about going to TJ and with Dr.Kuri's team. I have looked at the Dr.'s here and they have not done as meny bands here as he has there.. I have only been looking at doing this since the start of Dec. We just got our air tickets for the trip and I can't wait.We go on a seven day cruise to Mexico the 13th of Jan. and back home on the 20th.Thats when I'll start my diet..one last tada....Ted
