You are looking great Actually, if I could even hope to look even a smidgen close to what you look like now, I'd be thrilled!! Congratulations! -
I'm so sorry that this has happened. I think your husband is just trying to say that he might feel insecure if you become thin and attractive -- actually, it's a good thing, in a guy-sort-of-way, that he's telling you this. You can tell him exactly what you said to us -- that he's been such a wonderful husband, that he's literally been through thick and thin with you, and there is no way you would ever leave him -- he's too good I hope that helps and I hope you feel better soon!

2 month post op and lost 54 pounds! :)
juliarh replied to juliarh's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I really don't know -- after about 3 weeks, it was just easier for me to drink water -- I drink it normally too -- no sippy, sippy, sippy -- so I really don't know. I just drink -- now some days I'm better then others -- on my bad days I'll realize 2 hours before bed that I have 32 oz. to drink and then I'm drinking like there's no tomorrow (and peeing in the middle of the night too ) -

I really am doing just the basics -- I eat until my stomach says stop (it's usually a slight nauseous feeling) -- I drink 64 oz. of Water a day -- and I walk my doggies a lot. I do eat a lot of Protein first -- I'm trying to combine more veggies in my eating but sometimes I get full before I eat many veggies. I did a video for YouTube where you can see my before and "during" pics -- I really am just very overwhelmed with how the sleeve is working. crazy. Here's the link to the video: Thanks guys for all your support, you really don't know how much it means to me -

Doctor is at a Loss to Explain
juliarh replied to onikenbai's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am sooo sorry this is happening to you. And I know it's made even worse that the doctors don't know what is happening. I'm so sorry. To be completely upfront, the first 2 weeks, I had the dry heaves -- sometimes with a little vomiting, but after the healing process (I'm assuming), I have ONLY felt nausea when I have eaten too fast and eaten too much. Unfortunately, I'm a fast eater by nature and sometimes I forget to slow down. My 12 year old son will remind me, "Mom, eat slow or you're gonna feel bad." I know others have had the same issues within the first couple of weeks as well. And speaking only for myself, these issues have all but disappeared now. I eat and then I get a full feeling and then I stop because if I don't, I know what will happen. I really hope you find some answers -- please continue to post because if nothing else, we are good listeners Take care and big hugs! -

How many surgery scars do you have?
juliarh replied to M2G's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 5 -- 4 of them are like directions on a map, each pointing a different way and the one where he took out my stomach is an X (buried treasure??) -- but I'm not concerned either -- I have silver stretch marks, one long horizontal scar from an ectopic pregnancy . . . I figured that if I ever get a tummy tuck, maybe some of my "roadmap" as Tiff called it will disappear with it. -

What nsv are you looking forward to?
juliarh replied to lisabug's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here are my 3 things: 1) being able to fit into a teeny airline seat (I have to travel for over 12 hours to get back to the States to visit family) -- I would like not to have to worry if I'm spilling over onto someone else. 2) I would like to buy clothes here in Paraguay where all the women are super thin. So far, I'm still ordering from the States. 3) I am looking forward to going to the beach/pool in a swimming suit and not feel like a beached whale. -

WAAY to fast- and kinda freaky
juliarh replied to cheechtrish's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know, while I am in a completely different circumstance than you are, I kinda ended up just like you -- My husband is a diplomat and in June we move to Paraguay in South America. I thought to myself, this would be a great time to get my weight loss surgery done. I had initially wanted the lap band. So we scheduled an appointment with the surgeon who's done the most weight loss surgeries and he said, "I don't do bands, but you can choose the sleeve or the bypass." Well, I knew I didn't want the bypass for the dumping and other stuff, but I had never really considered the sleeve. I read up on it and decided, ok, I'll get the sleeve. We went back to the doctor, and he said, ok how about in 2 weeks. Yep!! I literally had to start my pre-op diet THAT day. It was crazy. And then I went in and all is history. So, you CAN do this!! From what I've read on the boards, Aetna seems to be easier to deal with -- so go for it
