Insurance approval time frame?
Southern Leo replied to new@52's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good deal!! I found out the papers my Dr was supposed to fax were put in my med file!! There they sat! I asked about it when I went this afternoon for an appt. Once he realized what happened he went into action. He wants me to see cardiologist for test to make sure everythings ok. I have appt for next week. I worry that time is running out....insurance...deductable will end. They all say it'll be quick and get done tho. -

Already Feeling Discouraged
Southern Leo replied to DebH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, great things are to come. Remember, this isn't something you will be doing for a short time and be done. We will have this change in our lives much longer than a diet we decided we would follow. I haven't been banded yet but know I can learn from those before me. Give yourself time to heal, don't let it distract you. I might need to read some of my suggestions later to remind me!! -
Did you think about waiting?
Southern Leo replied to Southern Leo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah, I already said goodbye to my diet coke! I decided since I will might as well now so I haven't had any sodas for over a month. I already have been drinking water before. I got some single protein bars to try them out and I love the vanilla pure protein drink too -
Hi, I am so new I haven't got a date yet but with hope I will know later this week. That is what I'm anxious about! I think I have been thinking about all the things that will change too. When I think about the things we can't or shouldn't have I think about the bigger list of what we can have! Could be worse and be the other way around! I know things will change but as I read all the posts on this site I see someone else has done it and I can too! If I need help with something I can come here and find it. I need to lose 100+ and can only blame myself for getting there. No more looking back.....

I go see him next week, I imagine he will check that once in a while....he does that. He worries for me about checking anything! I want to make sure I take what I need. Thanks!

Thanks, I got samples of the chews...not bad but seem to cost more. I'll probubly use them down the line too. I guess I'm worried about too much! I like yogurt and cott cheese so I will get some other form of calcium but want to make sure I get enough. Wasn't told I needed to get B-12 but haven't finished yet so we'll see!

Good Morning, I have been getting thru each step toward a new life. I haven't got a date yet but will talk to dietician, councelor, Dr next week. I think my biggest worry is the aftermath of weight loss after stretching out my skin so much now on my stomach. Does everyone have that problem or can it be minimalized? I'm a big coffee drinker too and will have to adjust until a good time to enjoy it again....even if it's less. Has anyone just switched to tea? Have a good day, Linda

Southern Leo replied to Southern Leo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, I started exercising last year more regular than before. I think I can get back on it now. I had some problems with foot(that started my pc Dr talking about this) and have been able to get back on wii now. I figure I will need some extra work with stomach. I saw Dr Whelchel for the surgery. Thanks -

Hi and thanks for the replies. I guess with the coffee I kept hearing we have to cut down or cut out the caffeine. I see different people have different "menus" so some of it's not as strict as it may seem. I met with Dr Whelchel, he will be doing the surgery at St Lukes. I'm still getting used to this.....but I have been cleaning out my pantry! -
My surgeon told me to take 2 vitamins, calcium citrate. I have the chewable vit. but wondered if the calcium has to also be chewable? I can get it at gnc but it's not chewable cal citrate. He didn't mention taking anything else

I hope I can find some experienced banders to help get answers to all the questions that go thru our head before surgery! Looking forward to exchanging thoughts and ideas! Linda:thumbup:
