  1. I'm Jen- been banded for 5 years and its changed my life. Following being banded, I got divorced, lost 70 lbs, moved three times, had two fast & furious relationships, and finally found solid footing in a relationship the past three years. Just got remarried this past August and I'm having a LOT of my old habits coming out of the woodwork. It would be nice to talk with someone about this and hear what their journey has been like. I'm in Des Moines, WA- but travel to Seattle all the time. Thanks!
  2. @bigtruk: thank you, but I guess there's not much to say. All I have to do is decide that I am ready to get back on track. I've been cleared by my doctor to be active again, so now I just need to get dedicated again and also begin eating properly again. Easy to cheat the band if you aren't paying attention. I'm an adult and I just have to take control of my fate! Thanks to all for listening. Is anyone local? Seattle area? It'd be great to meet some locals who have the same lifestyle I have.
  3. My weight came on after living in a household that watches tv every night- I don't have that in my life prior to the weight gain. I had a solid job before I started gaining- so stress and therefore stress eating and alcohol consumption have contributed. Additionally, I quit being as active after an injury resulting in knee reconstruction, which took 2 months before I could even walk unassisted. After that- I got serious & dedicated- recumbent bike, etc. Started planning our wedding, had a pulmonary embolism in June this year- and it all went to hell from there. Not proud of this story- but it's honest.
  4. Have gained much back- need help wih getting my mindset back where it needs to be. Thanks!
  5. Hi there, looking for seasoned bandsters (especially in the Seattle area) who have been through the ups and downs and have been successful, then the air sorta came out of their sails and things slowed down. Looking for support in keeping the momentum going and keeping myself ever-aware, ever-mindful, and ever-alive to this incredible tool I have. My goal is approximately 40 lbs away....yes and I have been doing this 3 years. Any sage advice from others out there? Many Thanks! Jenepher:confused:

    Stressed & Scared in Seattle

Hi Katie, I know your post was a while ago, but I thought I would respond anyway and see how you were doing. I have been banded since Nov. 2007, and am approx 40 lbs from my goal weight. I am looking for support and comaraderie in this journey and would love to meet someone who gets it all. I'm 34, live in Des Moines, WA, and am a graphic designer. Divorced, no kids, but living with boyfriend in a home we bought together about 6 months ago. Let me know how you are and if you are interested in supporting one another! Thanks much! Jen:smile2:
  7. Hi Nancy, I'm Jennifer. I'm 34 and I was banded in 11/07 and am coming up on my 3 year bandiversary. I have had the VERY human experience of lots of success with my band and then a slowing, and a small gain... so I am on my way back on the right track. I live in Des Moines (almost Fed Way) so I am close by. Would love to get to know you better, see how things are going and discuss challenges you are having, or successes! I very likely will be able to learn somethings from you as well! Hope you are doing well! Best, Jen:smile2:
