I am so proud of me today. It has been 12 weeks since my surgery. I hit 2 goals today, I lots 36 pounds so far (goal 1 was 35) and I am now under 250Lbs!! I have gone in the following areas. My dress pants use to be a 22, and now they are 16. My jeans use to be a 24 and now they are an 18. My shirts use to be a 3x and now they are an 1x. It wont be long before I am completly out of plus size cloths, which I want more then anything by my wedding on July. I started shopping in plus stores at age 13, so I cant believe that soon I will be smaller then I was at 15. I already know I am smaller then I was in high School! My next goal is to loose my 5 year old. He currently weighs in at 42 pounds. I am so excited for that. Something that I can lift and compare to how much weight I have lost instead of just saying "thats lots of bags of potatoes now." Today, I am so proud of me. I was so worried, because I had to go private with my suregery. My soon to be husband was so supportive of the cost at first, and now offers more support then I could have imagined with my journey. My mom lent me the money.......... I was worried to let everyone down. But today................ Today Im proud of ME!

I just read a blog of someone who is a little down and discouraged because the weight is not coming off as quick as they had hoped. I posted the following message. I was banded 2 months ago. I am currently down 28lbs in total. 13 of that was on the post op diet, which means 15 lbs in 2 months. Try to remember that the average weight loss is 1 to 2 lbs per week. You have lost over 3 lbs a week! Good job. Also try to think back to all the other diets you have been on, have any of them lasted a month and proven to loss 15 lbs of weight thats never coming back???? Its the never coming back part that I love. Ive lost weight on diets before, but its always come back again, and brought about 10lbs worth of friends.......... but this time its not going to be like that. Your doing awesome! Hang in there, its not an over night cure, its a life change. Anything thats going to change something as big as the rest of forever............. is going to take time. I believe every word that I typed, but have a hard time living by it.

I was banded 8 weeks ago, and I am having my ups and my downs. I have lost 27 lbs, but I have been pretty stationary in this area for a while. Inchs are still coming off slowly but at least there coming off. I had my first fill 2 weeks ago. When the doctor put my band on he put 3ccs in and then added another 1cc 2 weeks ago. I still dont really feel the restriction that everyone talks about, but I have another fill booked for Febuary 8. I was hoping to be down 30Lbs by christmas, and now with the end of January approaching Im feeling a little like a failure. On a positive note, I had to go shopping because my jeans, work dress pants, and bras were not fitting anymore. It felt really good for the person to tell me I cant by my bras in the plus size store anymore. I went down from a 44 to a 38. The jeans I bought were a Size 20, the old ones were a 24. And the dress pants were a size 16 from a size 22. I kind of feel like I have my motivation re newed. I am not sure what type of diet to follow. I have not been eating anything close to the way I use to eat. do any of you follow structured diets of choice?

I am feeling very down on myself today. I weighted myself on Sunday and have gained back almost 4 lbs. I was down 24lbs since I started my pre op diet, and now I have gained 4 lbs back. I havent been eating anything close to what I was and I just dont get it. I have not been exercising, but thats because last Friday I split 2 of my incisions and was in a lot of pain again. I just dont know what to do. Its so discouraging. I am not going for my first fill until January 4. I am so scared I am going to gain all the weight back that I worked so hard to loose.

The doctor wants me to try to get 65 grams of protien a day. Im close, but not there yet. I talked to the surgeon yesterday about my hip, and he said it is sometimes a side effect of any surgery, and usally occurs when someone is very tense when going under. He said the feeling will come back, and if it doesnt by monday to go see my family doctor. Thanks for the positive feed back! I feel like Im doing great too. Loosing 30 lbs by Christmas is my goal so I have 8 more lbs to go. But it would be nice to be under the 250 mark before Christmas. I havent been under that since high school!!!!

So I became an official bander on November 22. I am recovering nice from the surgery. I have lost a total of 21 lbs, 13 of those pre op. My band was put in with 2cc and I have my first fill booked Jan 4. I stayed on the liquid diet for the first week, and as of monday moved on to blended foods. I am having trouble getting my protien up because I can not handle another shake. Instead I am trying to eat high protien foods like non fat cottage cheese, low fat tuna, and egg salad. Im starting to get more energy, but that has been the hardest thing. The only problem I am having is that since the surgery I have been numb in my right hip area. It was really bad for a few days after because it felt like razor blades. I just figured it was because I was laying on it, and placing my weight different because of the pain, but now Im starting to get worried. The razor blade feeling has gone away and so has the tingling, but when I scratch I cant feel it. Is this a normal side effect? Any ideas?

Well Im 3 days from surgery now and starting to get nervous and worried. I have managed to stick to the pre op diet and have zero cheats. I had a complete melt down last Saturday, but stayed on track. I am very proud of myself. I have lost 10.4 lbs as of today and am very happy for myself to hit my first milestone. Im starting to notice the weight loss already, and so are others. People have noticed in my face, and I have noticed that my pants cover my shoes a lot more, which is a great feeling. I also have to take off my engagement ring tonight. I got my ring from my soon to be husband in August and it was on the tight side........... but now its just waiting to slid off Wish me luck Monday at 10 is the time my life changes.

I'm 5 days away too! How is your liquid diet going?

Buy Benefibre. They come in single shot servings. Take 3 a day with water, or your protien shakes. It really helps.

Well the count down is on. I saw my sergeon Wednesday for my pre op consult and he want over all the ins and outs. I found out that I did not miss understand him, that I am truely only allowed to drink these shakes and have some veggies. However the shakes he put me on fill me up and I find I dont need the veggies really even. They tasted bad at first, but I am use to them now. Today is the 5th day of my liquid diet, (I was excited and desided to start a day early) and I am already down 6lbs as of this morning. I went for my ECG and pre op blood work this morning, and even fasting for 14 hours was nothing. I am feeling great. My pants seem to be a bit looser, but that could be wishful thinking. I am more and more confident with my desision every day. I have my final pre op consult with my family doctor on Tuesday and meet with an ANA that day as well. Then its hear. Its so odd though. I am not craving the foods that I thought I would. Im not craving the pop or sweets. But if someone would sneak me a Bacon double cheese burger I would love it.

Hi! I am on day 4 of the liquid diet. I have not cheated even one inch. I have drank about 3 liters of water a day, only had the doctor recommended shakes, and only eaten Veggies. Is there anything eles I can eat at all? I havent met with my surgeon to go over all of this yet, as it was a very quick desision and surgery was booked 16 days later. I just really feel like I need to eat more, or even taste something for the first time in 4 days. Heres hoping Im misunderstanding something.:scared2:
