  1. I've been up and down on weight many times in my life. 4(ish) years ago I was fitting into size 36 pants and I saved them in the hopes that one day I'd lose weight again and be able to fit in them. Well, yesterday I pulled them out of the closet and they fit great! YES! We just had a health screening here at work and I felt great when they weighed me. Although I'm still above my ideal weight, I'm on my way there! My blood pressure had gone back to normal, and I'm great on paper now! Just excited and wanted to share!

    Is it just me?

It's funny you guys can say curse words. I posted one in a thread a while ago and one of the board natzi's gave me an official warning because "this is a family board." lol apparently we are adult enough to make a surgery decision but not adult enough to read a couple of letters on a screen.

    In need of a surgeon

As a post-op Mexico patient, I would recommend going to Mexico 100% I firmly believe I got better care/experience there than I ever would have locally. Also - it's much cheaper. Don't let the price tag (or preconceived stereotypes) fool you into believing it's lesser quality!

    Do you still get hungry?

2 months out now and hunger has a completely different meaning now. I sometimes have to remind myself "you got that part of your stomach cut out, any hunger must be in your head." I feel mostly apathetic towards food now. "It's around lunch time, I guess I'll munch on a Protein bar while I finish this work up" kinda thing instead of "It's 8am and I just finished breakfast, I wonder what I'll stuff my face with for lunch!"
  5. I notice that if I don't take my Protonix in the morning or sip water constantly between meals my stomach goes crazy. Are you on a PPI? Are you drinking water?

    Any regrets?

  7. We just had a health screening at my job and I just got told that my LDL cholesterol count is extremely low. Has anyone else seen this post-op? I guess it's not exactly dangerous for it to be this low, although it does bolster my risk for depression and anxiety. I was told that I need to exercise more and drink more alcohol, two things that I currently feel I'm doing a lot of! LOL

    Low LDL cholesterol level

Thanks guys, I'll try some fish oil and flax seed. I absolutely hate seafood, but I guess I should start trying it again since I'm starting to get into other things I used to hate. Maybe I love it now, who knows??

    Low LDL cholesterol level

Ah thanks for the link, interesting read. I *hope* that my cholesterol is so low only because this last week I've had a cold and haven't been exercising or drinking alcohol. I was just curious if anyone else here has seen the same thing happen?

    NSV, SV, and excitement

Yep - just moved past the halfway mark today. GO SLEEVE

    Any regrets?

My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

    Still baffled on fullness!

QFT! I guess we got lucky, but it's hard for me to imagine it's all luck. I DO feel hunger sometimes, but then I remember that part of my stomach was cut out and it must all be in my head. That seems to help.

    Still baffled on fullness!

I'm still amazed at this as well, how little food my body actually NEEDS in order to function.
  14. I never realized how much time I was spending just thinking about food before the surgery. I know I'm a fresh sleever, but I've already noticed a huge difference in what occupies my thoughts, and I'm only 8 days post-op. Instead of constantly thinking about "what am I going to have for the next meal?" I've been thinking more about friends, family, job, sex, hobbies, etc. You know, "normal" stuff - it's nice! I'm so glad I got this surgery, I hope my attitude remains this way as the months go on. I wish I could fast forward a couple months in time just to see where I'll be at!
  15. Yeah - what a difference! It seems like things will continue this way, as the days go on I think about food less and less. This is amazing!

    December 2010 Sleevers!

Was sleeved on December 10th and loving my sleeve so far!! I feel great and feel completely differently about food than I did a couple months ago. It's nonsensical for me to think about how I have MORE energy now although I'm eating about 1/5 of what I was before.
  17. I'd guess mental thing too. I certainly can't notice a psychical difference in size where my tummy used to be.
  18. I was obviously a little dizzy the DAY OF the surgery from the anesthetics, but after that it's pretty smooth sailing. I walked around the airport in Mexico waiting for my plane and didn't experience any dizziness until a couple weeks later when I stood up too fast.

    Exercise??

I did good with walking after post-op and the next month or so. I just started a "couch to 5k" (C25K) program today and am excited to be able to run 3+ miles in a setting! So far I'm really liking the lady that does these podcasts. It's great to have someone in your ear going through it with you and telling you when to walk/jog. http://chubbyjones.libsyn.com/wheezing_your_way_couch_to_5k_week_1
  20. Seems stupid if they got rid of them, I was wondering what happened too.

    Alcohol

Just stay away from carbonation and you will be fine with anything else. 2 months is plenty - it's not like alcohol is magically bad for your staples or something, it's just the empty calories they want you to steer clear of.
  22. 25 here - and I'm wishing I would have done it sooner!

    Gaining weight???

It's most likely just Water weight. The human body is mostly composed of water so if your body decides to keep/flush water out of your system it has a big impact on your weight. I try and measure my weight only once a week so I don't get too hung up on numbers or get fooled by water weight.

Do u think one 1/2 glass wine

Sip slowly and you will be fine! Alcohol hasn't been a big deal for me with my sleeve.
  25. 14 days post-op I was eating green chili and drinking alcohol. I couldn't even imagine throwing up though, that must have hurt like hell. Just stick to what your doctor and body are telling you.
