    No Appetite!!!

Why is this a bad thing?? I LOVE that I feel full and uncomfortable after a couple bites. I haven't been doing my full Protein according to my doctor, but I feel great and have enough energy to work out and be chipper. Maybe instead of "bites" you should be taking "gulps" of Protein shake? I would personally rather have something liquid than something I have to chew these days.

    keeping ur stomach?

I actually remember asking if i could keep my stomach before the surgery and the doc just gave me a weird look and shook his head. lol
  3. ... a frozen pizza, which used to be a snack for you, can last a whole week in the fridge.
  4. I've been up and down so much that I have a wide range of clothes to go off of right now.
  5. I LOVE thrift store shopping. Once you get used to it there is no going back to retail.

    So....what's it like?

Just do it. Seriously. I felt like I was in a "fragile medical state" for maybe a week total. Definitely worth it. The reflux gets annoying but I got a simple prescription to a PPI from my doc that lasts 3 months and I just take 1 tiny pill when I get up in the morning. No big deal at all. I feel less hungry, eat less, and sometimes forget I even had surgery - and I'm not even 3 months out. *EDIT* - Keep in mind that a lot of people on this board are people that visit BECAUSE they have issues. There are a lot of silent sleevers out there that are without complaint and have no reason to come here.
  7. Yeah I'm STILL surprised how much money I've been saving on food post-sleeve. This is great.

I STILL SEE MYSELF AS FAT

Confidence (even if it's faked) can go a long way. Start thinking more of yourself and sooner or later even you will believe it!

    So....what's it like?

I never really had a problem unless I try to eat too much. Right now I'm on a "whatever I can handle" diet and my body lets me know when to stop granted I keep eating as slowly as I do. I definitely get that full feeling sooner than before! My scars are healed up pretty nicely and I definitely don't feel pain at this point. The first couple weeks after the surgery though, I of course felt some pain but it's really not too bad. The worst is the gas pain right after surgery. It's definitely doable depending on your will. My thoughts on food and cravings have completely changed in a way that I'm not sure I'd ever understand before having the surgery. When I get head hungry, I just remind myself that I had that part of my stomach cut out and that it's all in my mind. No. Not even a little. Yes! I can eat whatever I want to, just in smaller quantities (obviously). There are certain things that give me more trouble than others now (like chicken) but I really wouldn't care to ever eat chicken again in my life at this point.

    leak anyone

Yikes, that's scary!! Keep us updated!
  11. I've been drinking a lot lately and haven't had any issues. I realize it's wasted calories but I don't mind losing slower at the moment. I'd wait a month or so after surgery before trying alcohol, I'm not sure why everyone waits longer apart from the empty calories issue. Just make sure you drink plenty of Water and I would recommend trying to drink BEFORE you eat instead of after. I've been big on redbull+vokda lately. I have to go a little slow on these since there is some carbonation. Wine, mudslides, margaritas, straight whiskey, and I've even had a couple beers although I have to drinks these REALLY slowly and pour them into a glass so they defizz faster.
  12. My tastes have definitely changed. Things I used to love like chocolate and chicken disgust me now. Things I thought I'd never enjoy like tea and veggies, I love now.

    The healthiest snacks...

Why sit there and watch them eat at burger king? Get a small fries to munch on and marvel at the fact that they can eat 10x as much as you can (and probably finish before you too).
  14. I've been dating a guy for the last couple weeks and we have gone out to eat a couple times. So far I've pulled off the "I'm just not that hungry" stuff pretty well but the other day I had about 1/5th of my meal and was done. He almost seemed offended or something and assumed I didn't like the food/drink there. I've been really open about my sleeve thus far, but I'd like to get to the point where I don't have to tell everyone new I meet that I had weight loss surgery. Is this even possible? How do you guys handle this??
  15. I don't have an issue with telling people, but my main question is, will I always have to? Maybe when I'm slimmer I will be able to pull off eating the amounts I do in front of other people without looking like I'm anorexic or something. Right now though, things do looks suspicious. Dating doesn't have to revolve around food at all, but it's bound to come up sooner or later. We hung out for a long time (movies, walking around, etc.) before the "hey I'm hungry, let's go get something to eat" topic came up. Going out to eat is something fun to do on dates as well, and I'm not going to let the sleeve stop me from having fun. rofl!

    Sex after sleeve

This ---^ It only gets better from here on out! I was sexually active a couple days post-op although I mainly just laid there at the time - lol. I waited a couple weeks before I was back in the mood for the real deal.
  17. I've been noticing this as well. It feels like I'm not eating that slowly most of the time, but compared to how I ate pre-op and compared to others around me, I consume at an extremely slow rate now. I kinda like it, it makes the meals last longer and it's relaxing compared to woofing down gargantuan sized meals in 10 minutes.

    Exercise and Water Consumption

This ---^ I have a nalgene bottle filled with Water by my desk and am constantly drinking from it. It helps me not get dehydrated when I work out and it helps fight hunger through the day.

    First time throwing up

I haven't throw up since I got my sleeve, how was it? Did it feel about the same as throwing up before? I eat slow enough now that I don't think it's going to be an issue, however I'm sure I'll puke again sooner or later.
  20. My sleeve HATES poultry (chicken, turkey, etc.) but seems to do fine with red meat. It's odd because I used to a big chicken eater and now all I want meat wise is steak and pork. Every bite of chicken feels like torture now and it's just not worth it to me.
  21. I've pretty much told everyone I knew about the surgery. I haven't had too many problems with my fat friends post-op except that they have told me that they feel guilty eating around me now because I can't fit as much in as they do (obviously) anymore. I just respond "I really don't care, eat whatever you want" and things continue as normal.

    Work after surgery

Wow you guys took a lot longer off work than I did. I went to work again (sitting job) 5 days post-op and felt completely fine. I was worried that I didn't take enough time off work before the surgery, but after the surgery I was sitting at home like "I could totally be working right now."

    Is it just me?

That's my thinking as well. Maybe the mod that sent me the warning hates men or something.
  24. I realized something this morning, I've had my favorite kind of potato chips sitting on the shelf, unopened, for a week now. To most people this is a stupid realization, but to think I've had one of my favorite foods in the house getting ignored is a huge success for me. I feel like I have shed my food-addicted skin and am a completely different person. Also - I'm 2 months post-op to the day and down 50lbs! Go sleeve!
