First, my stats...I am 27 male about 6'2" and 375 pounds I was shocked to find out yesterday (thought i was closer to 340). I imagine I could lose 150 lbs given my frame size. So...I've been wanting to do this surgery for some time and when I heard an ad for True Results, I immediately called in. I feel comfortable with the process and think I have several good surgeons to choose from. Only problem is I can't help, but be concerned that the facility I am at ONLY does lap band instead of lap band and gastric bypass. I know some of the differences in the surgeries and have 2 family members that have each. I think lap band is great, but really concerned I may be missing something. I know there are probably numerous threads on bypass v. lap band and I'd welcome any thoughts on that, but I am really stuck on the lap band only approach and have a few concerns about that.

Thanks for all of the opinions so far. Since it was brought up, my insurance is footing all but $500 of the bill.
