So I'm sure we have all misspelled things here and there and that is not a big deal. But I'm getting a little irritated trying to read through some of these posts that people can't use the correct spelling or even near proper grammar! There is spell-check on the computer for you, use it if you're that bad at it! I have stopped responding to some posts that have decent questions because I want to tell them to go back to school and get it right! I don't take people very seriously when they can't type a sentence. To clarify more not talking about using little words like lol, lmao, btw etc. I'm talking about spelling & grammatical errors. These are not some of the larger, harder to spell words such as anesthesia either, these are simple every day words! Is anyone else bothered by this?? I hope I'm not the only one! (Once again, typos are common…but a few things I've noticed on here tonight I'll list…I even used it in a small sentence! Right spelled Wright….(…eating the right way…) Right spelled Rite…(…eating the right way…) Weigh spelled Way…(… I weigh myself…) Weight spelled Wait…(…my weight this morning was…) Losing spelled Loseing…(…I've been losing lots of weight…) You're spelled Your…(…you're over thinking this…) Waste spelled Waist…(…why waste your time…) Ok I'm just going to stop there, I'm sure you get the point.

OMG I was thinking about posting this as well! I'm around the same amount of weight loss and my tail bone hurts so bad sometimes! I was at a friend's house yesterday and after sitting on the couch for a while, I was SO sore. I get it at work really bad too but my butt doesn't look bony and my tailbone isn't protruding either. I'm definitely going to be following this post!

Question For Alumni - Twinge From Incision
Papillon Princess replied to neekoal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember that pain! It's healing and I walked kind of hunched over for about 2 weeks. I always kept a pillow on my stomache and would hold it a little tighter when I was sore and it helped a lot! -
I Dont Feel Bad And You Are Wasting Your Own Time!
Papillon Princess commented on newlife4nekaylyn's blog entry in newlife4nekaylyn's Blog
Keep working hard and use it as a motivator! Most people have responded positively to my weight loss and have also been supportive. If they are talking about you and you don't mind telling them about your surgery, than do it! Some people need to be educated. I hate when people comment how fast I've lost weight and start talking about having the surgery because they think it's some miracle that will make you drop all this weight. I explain to all of them that my band HELPS me lose weight and I couldn't lose all this without it but I have made a serious lifestyle change as far as my eating habits and exercise goes. Keep going, you're looking great -
How Much Weight Did You Loose At 6 Months?
Papillon Princess replied to Marla290's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my surgery on May 24th 2011 also!!! It sounds like we're on a similar track, I lost about 60 lbs (from my highest weight) at 6 months and I'm down 90 from my high weight and 77 since my first weigh in. To the OP, try not to compare to others! You're expected to lose 1-2 lbs a week...so if you're losing about 6 lbs in between each fill, you're doing your job! If you're losing more than that, great! If you're working out and losing even more, AWESOME! You'll get what you put into your band...when I slack at the gym, I average a little over a pound of weight loss each week, when I hit the gym hard, I typically double that! Work hard and continue evaluating what you can do with this tool, it will only work as hard as we do! -
My First Unfill - And They Took Everything Out!
Papillon Princess replied to mst's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had a very small unfill one time so far and about 6 fills? Anyways, the unfill is probably for your best. I don't want to go on with possibilities but you may want to ask your surgeon why. If your stomache was swollen, the best thing may be to have it unfilled so you can kind of start over. I thought it was crazy how much a tiny unfill did for me, I was PBing and couldn't get much down. Hopefully this will get you feeling better! Stay positive and on track, they can start refilling soon. It's important that you're able to eat! -
Bad Comment From Insurance Company..
Papillon Princess replied to KAllison =)'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't take anything insurance says negatively...they want YOU to work for it and wiggle your way around their guidelines. If you are dedicated and meet the criteria, you will be approved. I had to go through a 6 month diet and 10 lb weight loss. I was so upset when I found out about the 6 months but instead of getting upset about it, I used that as a time to educate and prepare myself for the band. Research more about your insurance and about the band. Use this time to your advantage and you will get there. I was 22 when I started my 6 month diet and had just turned 23 a month before my lapband surgery. My BMI was slightly over 41 and I had no comorbidities. Don't let anyone get you down! Just let them be your motivation and show them that you really want this AND that you can do it! You'll get there! -
New And Worried
Papillon Princess replied to mommydoss's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I also had a hiatal hernia repair with mine and seemed to have some rough days afterwards compared to some others. I had that pain as well and it did go away after about 6-10 days. (I wish I could say it was sooner). I even had a few days of regret but I'm now 9 months since my band and I feel amazing! Get through these next few weeks and you'll be just fine. You're not taking in enough to really have a BM right now so just sip on water and follow your instructions. Don't get discouraged, things will get much better soon! -
So I'm going on my first date with this guy I've been talking to for a few weeks and he has no idea I've had the band surgery. Right now I'm comfortable with eating and I know my limits quite well. However, I don't know what on earth to order! We're going to Friday's and I've looked over the menu and can't decide what to get that I can at least make it look like I'm not eating like a bird. I don't want him to think I'm another one of "those girls" that doesn't eat. How did you deal with this?? I typically don't go to dinner with guys because of this and go out for coffee or a walk in the park...but he seems stuck on dinner...Please answer ASAP! This is tomorrow evening! Thank you!

Vodka mixed with some crystal light! (I order vodka on the rocks...water, no ice and take a crystal light packet with me) It's good and it will make about 3-4 drinks easily! Wine does very well for me still and it's my favorite but I'm not planning on drinking hard alcohol anymore. I get wasted so quick, it's horrible! I cannot handle it and I'm still over 200 lbs.

Date...help With Dinner Decision??
Papillon Princess replied to Papillon Princess's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Perfect night! I cut up my food really tiny and just kinda pushed it around and ate very slow and he wasn't very hungry. He didn't seem to pay any attention to what I ate. He asked me to go out again too! Very happy at the moment. He does not know I've lost weight. I just met him a few weeks ago...I lost a lot of weight right after surgery and the first few months after. It's slowed a bit the past month or 2 so I'm working on getting it going again. Haven't had breads or pasta's since before my band and just fine with it! -

Date...help With Dinner Decision??
Papillon Princess replied to Papillon Princess's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks everybody! It ended up being cancelled but we're going out tomorrow instead. (Worked out for both of us though). I'm still on a strict diet so very low carb and high Protein, small amount of veggies are fine which is why it's hard for me to find things and I'm picky which doesn't help the situation. (I don't like soup...) I appreciate the ideas and the encouragement everyone gave me I have no problem telling people but for some reason I'm weird about telling a potential boyfriend after having an insecure guy that kept saying I was going to leave him after losing more weight! I'm quite proud of my band and tell about anyone that will listen. We'll see how it goes tomorrow! -
Date...help With Dinner Decision??
Papillon Princess replied to Papillon Princess's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lellow, I don't tell people right up front. I make sure they're going to be around for a little bit first. I'm very proud of my band but haven't said anything on a first date or when first meeting someone. It takes me about 2 months or so to "feel out" others and decide if I'm ready to tell them. -
Low Carbers I Need Advice!!!
Papillon Princess replied to playboyreject80's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats on the weight loss! I was losing 3-4 lbs a week for a while after surgery as well and it's disappointing losing 1-2 lbs a week now. It does slow down after a little while. If you want to jump start, change up your workouts, start from the beginning with your diet (high Protein, low carb) and try to make your body get back into that gear it was at after surgery. BTW, I'd love to lose a pound a day! Sounds like a wonderful idea, lets find that quick fix Just read your starting and current weight. (I don't mean this in a rude way at ALL!) But you were quite heavy at the beginning and the smaller you get, the less you will lose. Being bigger means it takes more calories just to do your daily activities which is why reducing so many calories makes you lose quickly. You can do this! Keep working hard, you're doing wonderful. -
Starting A Stall After Lap Band Surgery
Papillon Princess replied to kassy_360's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
JakerT5...you're lucky you haven't had a stall! But that doesn't mean that people are cheating if they do stall! You're being quite judgemental. I had a 2 month stall where I kept fluctuating on 2-3 lbs. Come to find out my band was too tight! I wasn't getting in enough calories and my body did NOT appreciate it. After a slight unfill, I was doing better and had more energy and started increasing my strength training (I did not have enough energy before to get through much of my training and was relying mostly on cardio). After jump starting the strength training, I beginned to stall again ON THE scale only...I was losing inches. Try keeping track of your measurements and make sure you're getting plenty of fluids to keep things circulating. Angela, try changing up your workout. Your body will get used to the same old workout and will become efficient. I personally enjoy the elliptical. My trainer has me on several workouts that increase and decrease the speed and resistance every few minutes. This kicks your metabolism up and gets your heart really going. It's working well for me! Between 1000-1200 should be just fine. I was having trouble losing when I was around 500-800 calories (Band was too tight...). Good luck! -
Seeking LC pumpkin pie and or cheesecake
Papillon Princess replied to ReJoyce's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've had great luck cooking with Stevia in the Raw...it comes in a large bag and has instructions on measurements of stevia vs. sugar. I can't find the recipe but my mom made some AMAZING pumpkin pie (without the crust) for me for thanksgiving. The truvia is a bit pricy to use in recipes and the Stevia in the Raw was much cheaper and actually tasted good! I would suggest using a little more than they recommend though. -
Pain In Abdomen - Wondering If Lap Band Slipped
Papillon Princess replied to JoJo22's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with many of the above posts. I had my first PB about 2 months ago, it was completely my fault! I ate way too fast and it just came right back up (cottage cheese...so it wasn't stuck, it was just me trying to eat too much and my band going, no way!) Then at thanksgiving I had some turkey and oh man that didn't go well! I had my first "stuck" episode and then PB'd for the 2nd time. After the "stuck" episode I was sore...thought about doing liquids, but decided my dr had encouraged high quality solid Proteins. I blended up the turkey in my magic bullet with a little miracle whip for a few days, I was full, no stuck episodes and worked my way back up to solids without having an empty tummy feeling. Hope you're doing better! -

I had a similar plan also and I could NOT do pureed! The texture made me gag so I went straight to my own form of "soft/pureed". I would blend my food up so that it still had that same texture but I didn't have to chew it so much. I'd add chicken broth, miracle whip (yes, you can have condiments! Use them to soften and moisten the food) and sometimes just a little Water. Meatballs are not typically soft enough, but I found that blending them just a bit AND chewing, you have the texture, flavor but not the issues getting it down. So meatballs should be fine if you do blend them a little. I disagree with the above post...you should NOT be eating crackers! I don't know any "good" doctors that would allow or recommend eating crackers with something. There's no nutritional value, they're high in carbs, they can and will get stuck and there is no Protein there....

Limiting your calorie intake...so if you're "restricted" to 1200 calories a day, that's what your goal would be to eat daily. Along with the calorie restriction you may also have restrictions on the amount of fat and carbs you can have that contribute to the calorie restriction.
