Thank you for writing this ,it made me see what I never wanted to see that I was afraid.Afraid of the unknown, afraid of how things change.I don't like change I never have but now this is the thing that may have been holding me back my fear of people looking at me differently. That I won't be able to hide in a corner any more.So I am with you on this, again thank you so much for posting this.Banded on 10-22-10.

They should put something behind your ear for motion sickness.Don,t take it off for at least 3 days.I didn,t and I have never thrown up yet, also get up and move because the gas will be better the more you move. -

Please, please don't give up! There are other people who love you and need you to be there for them just as they are there for you.Look around you at the faces of the people you love.Do you want them to suffer the grief and the pain that you are now going through?I did't I wanted to live for them.I was banded on Oct. 25,2010. I started my preop diet on Oct.11, since then I have lost 39 pds.I feel so much better mentaly and physically than I ever have. The grief of losing someone can destroy you and your family if you let it.Try to be strong grieve for your mother, remember the love and know she would not want her child to follow her into the grave. This is from a mother who has lost a child and believe me your mother would want you to live.So take each day one at a time and try not to conquer the whole world at once and you can do this. -
Try chewing sugar free gum.It helped me alot with my nighttime eating

Christmas can be a very hard time of year. The stress is way up there and especially if you don't have a job,but when you feel like giving up just look at your children and see how blessed you really are.Believe me I know we lost our son six yrs. and six months ago.The holidays are extremely hard.I was eating my self to death because of my depression.I finally got a hold of my self and did the lap band after much talking to my psycoligist. If you feel depressed get help for yourself. Its out there and there is no need to suffer needlessly, and please give your children a great big hug and think how lucky you really are.

Hi I have been reading this blog for a while now and let me tell you,I am learning something new from each and everyone.I was banded on Oct. 25,2010.I had a two week pre op diet and lost 20 lbs.Since the lap band I have lost only 6 and have stayed the same weight for several days.Is this normal?I also wonder about your diet afterwards.I was able to eat part of a chicken breast four days after my surgery as long as I chewed like I was Supposed to.My doctor allowed this.I am wondering why our diets are so different?I went two days on liquids and one on soft, then I went right on to solids.I have had no Problems.Has anyone else been on a diet like mine?

O.K. I got my first fill yesterday on the 15.I am down 21 pounds from my lapband surgery weight on Oct.25.Yeah!!!!!!!! But I am really worried about Thanksgiving.I am so afraid I will buckle.I can here those carbs calling my name.

My BMI was over 53 when I decided to have the lapband. At 4'11" I was as tall as I was round. My doctor in Nashville,TN is a lapband specialist and even though I was this big,he never even suggested I do any surgery but the one I wanted.I thought about others but I was scared to death to do any of the others.I was banded on Oct. 25.I started my pre-op on Oct.11.I go for my first fill tomorrow.I am down from 275 on Oct.11 to 241 today.Don,t let any body tell you a lapband won,t work on a bigger person. It will work, but you have to be commited.Do what you feel comfortable with if he doesn,t want to do it get another opion from another doctor. This docter just sound,s like he wants to go for a more expensive surgery to me,but this is only my opion.Whatever you decide I wish you only the best of luck.

I think your doctor sounds like a pig.How dare he be so insentive to your pain?I had my lapband done on 10-25-10.The first week out I was very sore and the gas pain was bad for a few days.My doctor told me to use miralax for constipation or something similar that you can mix in water to drink it.Try that and see if that helps.
