    Gas gas gas!

Gas-X did not help me 1 bit. Honestly I found that drinking Water or eating/drinking your Protein shake helps. The pressure will naturally force it out up top or bottom.

    Veggies Gives Me Gas!!! Arrghhh

Yeah i need some Beano or something, cuz i feel like i can power my own car with the gas i have in my body now... LOL.
  3. I was recently banded last week. And this week we are allowed to have canned veggies, but i'm finding that Veggies just gives me gas and a case of BG's (bubble guts) (sorry for being so graphic). Is anyone else experiencing the same symptoms from veggies?
  4. I was banded on 11/22 and my 1st fill is on Monday, December 13th

    What's for Breakfast?

I had a Protein Drink this morning (7:30am ish) and then a cup of tea around 10:30. From the hours of 12 to 3pm are my hungriest times of the day.

    Banding Tomorrow 11/29/10

Your shopping list is good. Not sure if you followed a pre-op diet, but if you did and if you have Protein shakes, that would be good to add to your menu as well. I didn't get an appetite until 3 days after I was banded. Your first 2 days you'll just want to get rid of the gas, but I found that even having some broth or any food gets rid of the gas. I'd load up on Sugar Free Jellos...i went through those the first 3-4 days. Just stick with this limited menu for a week. Not sure when your doctor will have you move off of mushy and onto to more solids, but my doctor gave me a week of mushy and then solids after. But if you were like me, you won't be thinking about food until the after the 3rd day after being banded.
  7. Yeah we are both down 15! I'm also experiencing more hunger.... today i had 2 Protein shakes and i went and had some steamed veggies... now i'm gassy....and when i'm glassy it comes out south not north... LOL. Tomorrow is my post op appointment, so hopefully i'll get the green light on eating more solid foods...i'm ready to eat more healthy and have more weight drop...

    Have not exercised

Just walk! that's the easiest exercise to start off with. Start off with walking 20-30 minutes, then build up to 35-40 minutes, then 45. At minimum we need to exercise 3-4 days a week. It's that simple.

    Driving myself crazy......

You can have omelets, Soups, stir fry chicken, Protein shakes. I'm not understanding "no fruit" as I was able to have frozen fruit in my Protein Shakes. There are so many choices to eat things once your doctor gives you clearance after the soft food stage.
  10. I'm starting to feel as if i'm in the minority here. LOL... and i'm wondering if it's because i've been working out and attempting to be active. My recovery has been nothing less than stellar, i've had strength to go out and shop and go to the gym and drive around. As for food... my appetite is not back 100%... i'll start out my day with a cup of tea. In my lap band guide, it said to have something warm in the morning to loosen up mucus. Then an hour later i'll have some Cream of Wheat in the morning for breakfast. My lunch/dinner has been soup. For Thanksgiving i made myself some Pumpkin soup and i had some cranberry sauce with it... so at least i felt that I had some Thanksgiving like food. I declined a couple of dinner invitations because I didn't want to pressure to be around food I couldn't eat. I'm single so I don't have the pressure to be around food because I don't have to cook for anyone.
  11. I'm going back on Tuesday, 11/30. My 1 week Post Op appointment is on Monday, 11/29. I'm feeling really good, i've returned back to my dance class and have been on the treadmill for 30-40 minutes at a time. I haven't told any of my coworkers i had it.
  12. Thanks for this post. Seems as if there's a fine line between eating something substantial yet not too substantial that we get blockage. Your doctor does make sense... I found that during my pre-op diet..after the 4th day on high quality Protein shakes, i wasn't hungry much. So it seems that high quality protein and just high quality and nutrient dense foods in general will make us successful all around.

Do you think Drew Carey had WLS????

I think Jennifer Hudson did as well. She's not fooling anyone.
  15. I'll be home today... i'm even considering going to the Casino. I'm making myself a Pumpkin Soup and along with some sips of Cranberry Juice, that's what I'm having for Thanksgiving.... By Christmas, i'll be allowed to have some Thanksgiving -type food... so I'll take the (L) for Thanksgiving.

When will I feel normal again?

Am I the only one experiencing sore throat issues? That is more annoying that the gas pain in my opinion.
  17. Today is my 3rd day as well.. i was banded on 11/22. I haven't eaten much if at all... I've had 3 Sugar Free Jello Cups since Monday, broth and sips of water and Cranberry juice. Right now i just prepared some Cream of Wheat and i'm going to try to have that, just to have some sort of protein (made it with milk). I went to the gym today to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes because i still have gas. Any gas has been coming out the other way along with runniness (sorry for the visual). If i can get over the sore throat (from the tube going down my throat) and some of the residual gassiness. I will be good.
  18. Follow your Doctor's orders....as for what to drink. You can have anything that's low sugar with the exception of carbonated beverages. That's Crystal Light, Diet Ocean Spray, Sobe light drinks, G2, Water is best of course. But I found that the Crystal Lights were best for me. I was allowed sugar free puddings and Jellos as well as Cottage cheese. As for Soups, they allowed me to have most types of soups with the exception of cream based soups (ie. bisques and new england clam chowders). You might be seeing this msg late since it's 11/24, but hope it helps.
