I had 5 cc put in my first fill by the nurse. When she injected the saline I felt it through my body up in my neck. I felt restricted for a few days, but I can eat breads, lettuce, everything. My question is has anyone else has that feeling of it going thru their body? I'm thinking she maybe didn't get it in the port!!

I already cancelled a dr appt 1 time, but then decided to go for it. My surgery is in 3 days and I feel like I want to cancel it. I have it in my head that I will never really be able to eat again. How much do people really eat after having it done? Do you feel deprived? Please help!

I was banded the 17th. That first week SUCKS!! All I could think about was food. I was so weak and hungry, called my dr and nurse said stick with clear liquids:( Went in Wed and nutritionist said, oh I would of let you have protein shakes. I got to progress to full liquids, and mushy food, and I am in heaven. I feel so much better now! Hang in their!!!

YES YES YES I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!! My friend had it done 2 years ago with great success. I finally went to the seminar in June and thought I am not as bad off as these people I can do it on my own, and cancelled the dr appt after. Well then I finally went to dr aptt in Sept, and went thru all the stuff ( sleep apnea test, Ekg, echocardigram, psych visits, and nutritionist). I was just banded on the 17th and clear liquids for 1 week is no fun!! I am too hoping I will still to be able to eat certain foods. Usually entertainment is getting together and food. Me and my daughter have movie night with popcorn, dont know if I will be able to do that either. To her thats a big deal she is 7, and its just me and her. At this point I dont know If I would recommend it, but am sure once I can eat normal foods, I will feel better about it. I am going to try to go without fills and see how that works. I just remind myself that it is hard to do on our own, thats why I am where I am at. I am so glad someone else thinks this too. Good luck!

Wow, never heard of getting a fill at same time..I would feel bloated too. What is his reason for this? Maybe he could take some out, I would just call and talk to them atleast. Your going to get weak if you cant keep anything down I just got banded on the 17th and am hoping I can maybe do it without the fills, wishful thinking. Good luck!!

Im a single mom also with a 7 year old girl. Anyway I was banded on the 17th and suppose to be on clear liquid for 1 week. I was starving so I called dr yesterday to see if I could add protein shakes and they said no. They told me they dont want your body to try to digest anything right now, they want it to heal. I'm the type unless you tell me why I dont listen, which I know is immature. So please listen so you dont have further problems. Good luck!

You are soooo lucky!!!! I was banded on the 17th and can only have clear liquids until I go in tomorrow. I called dr yesterday because I am starving, and they said nothing until I see dr. I just want to have some real food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No kidding, what are you eating? I am straving and called my dr yesterday and still said no to anything besides clear liquids. No protein shakes either!!! I had my surgery on the 17th with minimal pain.

Well I had my lap band surgery yesterday and while they were in their they discovered a mass behind my stomach. Had a ct scan this morning and it is on my adrenal gland and quite large. They are thinking its non cancerous but more testing has to be done. So after I am healed from this I get to have another surgery to have it removed:( Funny thing is I have been to endocrinologist for issues I was having and the adrenal tests came back normal. So if I wouldn't of had the lap band I might not of found out until it was too late.

My surgery is on Wed. I dont have to start the liquid diet until Monday, sure I will be crabby too!

I am getting banded in 2 weeks. I am in a wedding in May. Just trying to figure out what the average is people lose per month. I know it will vary, just like an idea. Thanks
