  1. Hey, I'm a teacher too and I just read your post about lose skin. You are hilarous. I will just have to deal with my saggy skin too cause I can't afford plastic either.

  3. Hey Lala welcome to the forum. All will go great. Can't wait for your journey to start.

  4. I am about a solid 8lbs away from onederland, however it has been a little hard. I am excited about it, I just need to get motivated to stick to my diet and exercise. I tell you what, we should both set a short term goal to get down to that 199 by the end of this month. What do you think?

    First guilty day :(

Don't obsese about one bad day. It is not easy, we still have the mindset that food is our best friend in the beginning. It didn't take you one day to gain weight and one day of 1200 will not make your diet fail. I always had the mindset of everything in moderation. Some people totally went healthy post op, but I found for me was not to restict my cravings as long as I don't over do it. My surgery was on 10/29/11 and I weighed 292 and as of this morning 207. Don't rush your weight loss, I find that some rush with weight loss and they end up with lost more loss skin issues.

Dr said I am the problem

It could be some of the foods your eating as well. I know that there are some days when I can't eat and eat. Then there are some when I say why bother. I know its because I still crave bread and potateos, at those times I give in. I may be able to eat some of those foods at night, but early in the day I can forget about it. If i do try to have those forbidden things early in the day then I notice that if I'm having complications with them I will be having issues with food going down for the rest of the day and sometimes until that next morning. This may be totally different for you , but I noticed thats how it goes with my band issues. Don't give up remember we have been use to eating one way and then all of a sudden we have to learn to do it another way.

  9. The truth is that everybody is different. I was a fast healer and I got hungry before a lot of people did after my surgery. Remember you are in the first stages of getting fills and you haven't found your sweet spot yet. Pace yourself. I find that some people on here make drastic changes very soon. If they can do that good for them, but I realized that I was use to eating a certain way and my body and mine could not adjust that fast. People forget the lapband unlike any other weight loss surgery tends to be slower than the others. I think its a good thing because think about it if we lost the weight really fast we would really be dealing with a lot of lose skin. Don't be so hard on yourself, eat. Give your metabolism time to adjust if you are starving your self you could be pulling down your metabolism, pace, pace. The weight will come off and the other person was right about the water as well. Protein will keep you fuller longer than anything else.
  10. I had to get more taken out of my band than was put in on my last fill because it was too tight. For the last two weeks I have been able to eat like I did before my second fill. I could have sworn I was going to gain, but instead I actually lost 6lbs. I did start the month off with a lot of exercise daily, but as the tempature got into the triple digits I didn't even bother. I just wanted to post this too let some of your who has had a month were fluid was removed not to freak out, instead exercise and try not to get obsessed about lossing. The more we stress the less we loss. Stress can also cause weight gain.
  11. Well, its been a little chanlenging this summer, but the good news is I have been able to maintain. I'm in Texas and we have triple heat temp so I haven't been doing my workouts like I should. I will get it started though.

    My First Bandiversary!

Thanks for sharing your journey. I needed to hear that. I had my surgery at the end of Oct, and I started off pretty good, but because I'm off in the summer and I got too much fluid in my band with the last fill they had to take out more than they put in so I am a little less restricted and have really done some bad things these last few weeks. I wanted to be a 100lbs lighter for my bandannversary, but I may have to settle with 80-90lbs. Thanks you inspired me.
  14. My first month after surgery I lost about 10-12lbs and I made the mistake of comparing my weight loss to others that were on this site. For a while I didn't even bother to read any of the post. I saw your pics and like me you are big boned so the scale will not really do you justice. Focus on how your clothes fit and how much faster you can move. Keep me posted.

  18. Hey, hope your healing is going well. I don't know if you will get the post that I put on my picture. I was 292 this time last year and now I am about 218. I can wear a 14 now. Remember each person's journey is different. Some of us really do have big bones. i say that so you won't get obsessed with the numbers. I know that what I did in the beginning. So don't stress and remember to pace yourself

I am down about 68 scine surgery day which was 10/29/10. Last summer I was 292 on surgery day 277. I really do have big bones so my weight may seem more than others. I am about 218 but, i can wear most 14's. Let me know how you are doing.
  20. Girl don't sweat the small stuff, my scale goes from one range to the other. No scale will say the exact same reading all the time. Plus you have to take into account if you have eaten, pooped, drank tons of water. Its a lot of things that can make a scale read a certain way. Don't sweat the scale instead use body measurements and how your clothes are fitting. Remember there will be some weeks when your body won't show the difference in weight on the scale, but it will show up in you loose clothes. I had to tell myself that because I was getting obsessed with the numbers. Then I realized that my body is different than others. I weigh 214 now and can were size 14 in pants while someone else who is 214 may be in an 18. Trust you body on this journey.
  21. I was banded 10/29/10, 277 and now about 214, in all with preop I have lost 78lbs. Whoo hoo. Just need to get to 175.

    UNFILL HELLLLPPPPP!!!!

Like honk said, wether get a fill or unfill my dr. puts me on liquids for 1 day and mushies for 1 day. The last time I went to the dr I had some fluid removed and she put me on liquids 2 days and mushies 2 days it was a little hard but it help my body adjust. Try liquids one day and mushies the next day after that. I surprised she didn't require it.
