Hey Turner, Glad your Mom is better and you can get back to some normalcy. Sorry about the 2 pound gain, but I bet it would have been more under the circumstances if you hadn't had your band. Getting the house cleaned will be good exercise for sure. Name............Starting.......Current.....Goal... .To Go Amy.................267..........264........250. .. ........14 Denise............. 298.............292........281.......11 Karey...............182.............182........165 ........17 Tann............... 236.............235........219.......16 Turner.............389..............345.........32 9 .....16 I only have lost .4 in the last couple of days, but I'm sure it will come off because I'm in Ketosis and have been cheat free on the M/E thing. I agree wholeheartedly with the BUY NEW CLOTHES advise. If you are seeing yourself in the same clothes you were wearing 75 pounds ago it messes with your self image. I'm a clothes junkie, and have been shopping in my closet for the last couple of months. Some of those clothes are now baggy, so I'm trading in my old clothes for some new to me clothes (resale shops are great for this) plus a few brand new pieces that boost your morale!! Let us know how it goes. -
Sunshine, I agree with you on the exercise thing. Yesterday, as I was dripping in sweat, I told my husband, "I can not believe that I am addicted to exercise" I love to feel the muscles burn and I love to sweat. Now every day when I first start out on my cardio my body goes "ugh, not this again" but once I get that first hard 5 minutes in - the rest is a piece of cake. Now, that being said, I am not seeing the weight loss that I wish I was but the inches are coming off really well. I keep trying to not be a slave to the scale, but those 30 or so years of habit are hard to break. I hope our new band buddy is doing okay after her surgery and will report back to us soon. Have a great day everyone,

Well said FaithMD, that was exactly what I had intended to type yesterday, but I got busy!!!! 30 lbs is great - would you have lost 30 lbs by yourself?? I know that I have never been able to have the consistent 2 lbs a week weight loss that I have been having with any other programs (and believe me I tried them all - LOL) I think 10 lbs a month is great because your body can adjust and maybe we won't have as much saggy skin (she says wishfully). Sula, Sorry to hear about your hair loss. It is a good reminder to me to take my vitamins. I haven't been taking them for the last month or so (duh!) so I appreciate you sharing your troubles and I hope that the B12 will help. I know it will give you more energy. I haven't checked this thread in a while (it is hard to find sometimes) but I glad to see everyone is doing so well. Isn't funny to remember when we were pre-banded and just banded and we checked the boards all of the time because we were nervous! Now we are approaching our 6 month Bandiversary's - Wow - I have a goal of 60 lbs by the 6 month date - has anyone else put a goal in place for their 1/2 a year mark?? I just started a really low carb program to get a jump start along with my exercise program to help me meet my goal. Later,

2 successful days of M/E and I have seen results already!!! Woohoo Name............Starting.......Current.....Goal... .To Go Amy.................267..........264.4........250... ........14.4 Denise............. 298.............292........281.......11 Karey...............182.............182........165........17 Tann............... 236.............235........219.......16 Turner.............389..............343.........32 9 .....14 Karey, we had decided on a 17 pound goal for the July 4th challenge, so I put your numbers in here for you. Hope you don't mind. I was feeling a little groggy yesterday from M/E but I felt better after I did my cardio and went for a swim. I'm feeling pretty good today and my Ketone level is at moderate - so I'm on my way! Turner, glad to hear your mother is well. Missing you Niecy and Avilla. Tann - give me some dinner ideas (besides chicken salad & tuna salad) that you use. Thanks for everying, have a great day all.

We know you and for the right reasons - you are one of us!!!!!! Congrats on the surgery date, learn all you can from the experienced ones and then make up your mind to just do it! The band doesn't cure us from our weight related issues, but I sure wouldn't want to lose mine! Later,

Thanks Tann, I like that comparison on cheating - I would never dream of cheating on my husband, so why do I cheat on myself with food! I did great yesterday, I had a really hard work out at the gym - played Raquetball and rode the bike at a Level 6. I'm also doing this 7 minute exercise plan that is all resistance. You basically tighten up different muscle groups and hold the tension for 30 second intervals (do each 3 or 4 times) it is harder than it seems and I'm sore from doing it (especially my behind which could use a lot of tightening). I'll keep you guys posted on more inches lost! One day on M/E down with no cheating! Have a great day.

Thanks for the advice Tann, I really am using you for motivation, I realized that you were at 308 on 12/31/06 and my starting weight was 310 at surgery on 1/09/07 so you are kicking butt with you big loss this year so far (I know you had already lost a bunch last year too)!! I'm happy with my 43 pounds, but truthfully I've been a bit lazy and I realize that I got the band for a reason and all of the cheating was only cheating myself. So I want to be better - and do better and I know that I can, especially with the encouragement and motivation I find on this board! :clap2: BTW, did you ever try my eggs in a bag trick?? I did it this morning and it was great! Later,
-
I started M/E today - you guys inspired me with your success! I also had a great NSV yesterday - my husband measured me and I have now lost a total of 29 1/4 inches. Woohoo!!! Hope everyone is doing well - I'll let you know how it goes on the M/E as I'm on my way to 17 pound lost goal. Later

Turner, I have prayed for you and your mother. Please keep us updated when you can. Blessings,
-
BTW - I forgot to say - Way to go all you big losers (Niecy and Tann your numbers are amazing!!) Keep up the good work, I need a swift kick in the butt to get me going!!

Last week was not real productive for me - work got in the way. I haven't weighed yet this week so I don't know if these stats are accurate. I had a week-end get away with my hubby and some friends at the river and I drank a little too much wine, so I will have to do an update after I go to the gym at lunch and weigh in. It's nice to see the goal in writing - Great idea - Name............Starting.......Current.....Goal... .To Go Amy.................267..........267........250...........17 Denise............. 298.............292........281.......11 Karey............................................. ............... Tann............... 236.............236........219.......17 Turner.............389..............343.........32 9 .....14 Later,
