Hey Turner, Glad your Mom is better and you can get back to some normalcy. Sorry about the 2 pound gain, but I bet it would have been more under the circumstances if you hadn't had your band. Getting the house cleaned will be good exercise for sure. Name............Starting.......Current.....Goal... .To Go Amy.................267..........264........250. .. ........14 Denise............. 298.............292........281.......11 Karey...............182.............182........165 ........17 Tann............... 236.............235........219.......16 Turner.............389..............345.........32 9 .....16 I only have lost .4 in the last couple of days, but I'm sure it will come off because I'm in Ketosis and have been cheat free on the M/E thing. A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?

I agree wholeheartedly with the BUY NEW CLOTHES advise. If you are seeing yourself in the same clothes you were wearing 75 pounds ago it messes with your self image. I'm a clothes junkie, and have been shopping in my closet for the last couple of months. Some of those clothes are now baggy, so I'm trading in my old clothes for some new to me clothes (resale shops are great for this) plus a few brand new pieces that boost your morale!! Let us know how it goes. -
Sunshine, I agree with you on the exercise thing. Yesterday, as I was dripping in sweat, I told my husband, "I can not believe that I am addicted to exercise" I love to feel the muscles burn and I love to sweat. Now every day when I first start out on my cardio my body goes "ugh, not this again" but once I get that first hard 5 minutes in - the rest is a piece of cake. Now, that being said, I am not seeing the weight loss that I wish I was but the inches are coming off really well. I keep trying to not be a slave to the scale, but those 30 or so years of habit are hard to break. I hope our new band buddy is doing okay after her surgery and will report back to us soon. Have a great day everyone,

Well said FaithMD, that was exactly what I had intended to type yesterday, but I got busy!!!! 30 lbs is great - would you have lost 30 lbs by yourself?? I know that I have never been able to have the consistent 2 lbs a week weight loss that I have been having with any other programs (and believe me I tried them all - LOL) I think 10 lbs a month is great because your body can adjust and maybe we won't have as much saggy skin (she says wishfully). Sula, Sorry to hear about your hair loss. It is a good reminder to me to take my vitamins. I haven't been taking them for the last month or so (duh!) so I appreciate you sharing your troubles and I hope that the B12 will help. I know it will give you more energy. I haven't checked this thread in a while (it is hard to find sometimes) but I glad to see everyone is doing so well. Isn't funny to remember when we were pre-banded and just banded and we checked the boards all of the time because we were nervous! Now we are approaching our 6 month Bandiversary's - Wow - I have a goal of 60 lbs by the 6 month date - has anyone else put a goal in place for their 1/2 a year mark?? I just started a really low carb program to get a jump start along with my exercise program to help me meet my goal. Later,

2 successful days of M/E and I have seen results already!!! Woohoo Name............Starting.......Current.....Goal... .To Go Amy.................267..........264.4........250... ........14.4 Denise............. 298.............292........281.......11 Karey...............182.............182........165........17 Tann............... 236.............235........219.......16 Turner.............389..............343.........32 9 .....14 Karey, we had decided on a 17 pound goal for the July 4th challenge, so I put your numbers in here for you. Hope you don't mind. I was feeling a little groggy yesterday from M/E but I felt better after I did my cardio and went for a swim. I'm feeling pretty good today and my Ketone level is at moderate - so I'm on my way! Turner, glad to hear your mother is well. Missing you Niecy and Avilla. Tann - give me some dinner ideas (besides chicken salad & tuna salad) that you use. Thanks for everying, have a great day all.
-
We know you and for the right reasons - you are one of us!!!!!! Congrats on the surgery date, learn all you can from the experienced ones and then make up your mind to just do it! The band doesn't cure us from our weight related issues, but I sure wouldn't want to lose mine! Later,
-
Thanks Tann, I like that comparison on cheating - I would never dream of cheating on my husband, so why do I cheat on myself with food! I did great yesterday, I had a really hard work out at the gym - played Raquetball and rode the bike at a Level 6. I'm also doing this 7 minute exercise plan that is all resistance. You basically tighten up different muscle groups and hold the tension for 30 second intervals (do each 3 or 4 times) it is harder than it seems and I'm sore from doing it (especially my behind which could use a lot of tightening). I'll keep you guys posted on more inches lost! One day on M/E down with no cheating! Have a great day.

Thanks for the advice Tann, I really am using you for motivation, I realized that you were at 308 on 12/31/06 and my starting weight was 310 at surgery on 1/09/07 so you are kicking butt with you big loss this year so far (I know you had already lost a bunch last year too)!! I'm happy with my 43 pounds, but truthfully I've been a bit lazy and I realize that I got the band for a reason and all of the cheating was only cheating myself. So I want to be better - and do better and I know that I can, especially with the encouragement and motivation I find on this board! :clap2: BTW, did you ever try my eggs in a bag trick?? I did it this morning and it was great! Later,

I started M/E today - you guys inspired me with your success! I also had a great NSV yesterday - my husband measured me and I have now lost a total of 29 1/4 inches. Woohoo!!! Hope everyone is doing well - I'll let you know how it goes on the M/E as I'm on my way to 17 pound lost goal. Later

Turner, I have prayed for you and your mother. Please keep us updated when you can. Blessings,
-
BTW - I forgot to say - Way to go all you big losers (Niecy and Tann your numbers are amazing!!) Keep up the good work, I need a swift kick in the butt to get me going!!

Last week was not real productive for me - work got in the way. I haven't weighed yet this week so I don't know if these stats are accurate. I had a week-end get away with my hubby and some friends at the river and I drank a little too much wine, so I will have to do an update after I go to the gym at lunch and weigh in. It's nice to see the goal in writing - Great idea - Name............Starting.......Current.....Goal... .To Go Amy.................267..........267........250...........17 Denise............. 298.............292........281.......11 Karey............................................. ............... Tann............... 236.............236........219.......17 Turner.............389..............343.........32 9 .....14 Later,

I know I need to set a new goal - I have been eating too much and need to go in for a fill. I'm setting my goal to be at 60 pounds gone by July 4th. I'm at 43.5 now so my new goal will be 17 pounds by July 4th.
-
Tonya, Wow, you look awesome!!!!! Hot Mama indeed! As far as the cellulite that you mentioned a few messages ago, I have started using this product called Scultique and it actually is working. I'm losing more inches since I started using it twice a day (the added bonus is that my husband applies it and I get Massages Morning and Night - Woohoo) I hadn't checked into the January thread in a long time, but now that my job is having some down time, I'll try to check in more often. It looks like a lot of people are having great success. Later,

Wow Karey, you look great!!!! I'm doing okay, back on track with the exercise thing. My husband and I are starting the day off with a 30 minute bike ride in addition to my Noon work-outs. These pounds better start coming off - I have a cruise to get ready for!!!!!! Take that :boxing: :boxing: ugly fat!!!! Keep up the good work everyone! Later,
-
Tann and Niecy, You both are just doing so well!!!! Congrats on the girl and the weight loss Mourning. I have been falling back into some bad habits because of stress this week - and I haven't been able to work out at lunch because my middle son got in trouble at school (for setting off a stink bomb) and I have had to go to court and to a special school and so on - but I'm getting back on track today!!!!! I want to join your losing a pound a day club!!!! Later,
-
Hey Tann, Can I borrow your metabolism??? You are having such great success and I know you are working hard at it. Can you share the secret to your success???? When I grow in - I want to be just like Tann!! You look 20 years younger than your original photos. Later,
-
Wow Tann, is your hubby excited to have such a HOT wife!!!! Great pic, keep posting them they are inspirational. Niecy, Congrats on Twoterville, that is AWESOME Avilla, hang in there! Turner, get your butt moving (JK, but it does feel good when you get the excersise thing going) Teresita, good to see you again! As for me, I just got back from my annual Girl Trip - 12 women for 5 days in a beach house with no kids and no husbands. Plenty of food and drink, I did okay, (except for the home made eggrolls that I should not have even tried to eat, but DANG that first couple of bites tasted so good before I got sick!!) but I did walk alot and even did Water Aerobics in the pool on the one sunny day we had. The result was just a 1 pound gain which I'm counting as a victory for me and the band because pre-band I could have and would have easily had a 5 to 10 pound gain because of over indulging. Anyway, have a great week everyone.
-
Hey everyone, Avilla, sorry to hear about your added stress - I'll put in a little extra prayer for you today. Niecy, sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, that is a tough one, but we all know that is one of the reason's we decided to get the band - I know I want to be around to see my kids get married and have babies - and it is sad when someone dies too young. Tann, as usual you are kicking butt and taking names. Turner, nice to meet you. And as for me, well I'm going on vacation with my girlfriends this week and I think the vacation mentality hit me a week early. This last week-end I was a little out of control. I gained one pound, so that gave me a reality check that even though I'm on vacation, I better not get too crazy or I'll have an extra 5 to 10 to lose next week. It should be interesting trying to be sensible while surrounded by my girlfriends who live to eat, drink and be merry!! There are 13 of us going to St. Augustine, FL to relax and hang out at the beach and by the pool. I'm going to try and stay focused and not consume too much wine! I'll let you know next week how good or bad it was - at least with the band, I can't get too crazy. Later,
-
Becky, About the eggs - You crack them open and put them in a zip lock bag - you can also add ham, cheese, bacon, veggies, seasoning or whatever - then you scramble them (I do this in the bag so I don't have any dirty dishes) - you submerge the bag in boiling water and cook them for 3-5 minutes (or however long it takes to have them as cooked as you want them) Easy, not messy, and they taste good. Congrats on the book! That is neat. Later,
-
Well yesterday was a bad day as far as eating goes - I had too much lunch at a luncheon and ice cream cake for dessert. This led right into over eating at dinner because I'm a carb addict and once I get over a certain amount (the cake) I just crave more and more. Today is a new day and I started M/E to get my butt in control and hopefully lose a few pounds before my vacation next week. Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs (boiled in a baggie - if you haven't tried it, they are really good and easy and easier than boiled eggs for me to get down) Lunch - Tuna salad (planned) Dinner - chicken Salad (planned) I'll let you know how it goes. Later,
-
Niecy, :) :( I checked out your picks and you look GREAT :) :) You look at least 10 years younger, I might even say 20!!!! Way to go Later
-
Hey you big bunch of losers!!!! I just caught up with all of the posts because I couldn't log on this week due to a hectic work schedule. Avilla - congrats on the 70+ loss - those new uni's are going to fit just fine. Niecy - 100 is soooo close, I know you are gonna make it! Tann - You go girl with your size 18 self - (I love the I can only imagine song too!!) Karey - I'm praying for a good report for you and that it was just some temporay thing - congrats on the 4 lb loss Turner - glad to see you checking in! As for me - I hit -40 and am happy about that. I'm also being inspired by you guys to try the M/E this week. I'll report in my menus if I can find the time. Later losers!!!
