  1. Haven't been here in a very long while, but with my anniversay date this past weekend I thought I would check in. I was banded on 9/3/10. It has gone fairly well, but didn't lose the 100 that I would have liked. I am down 65 pounds and currently weigh 175 lbs. Lowest I've been in many a year. My daughter got married in April and I was not embarrased by my weight. I had lost my 65 then, but have not lost anymore. Feeling quite well and so glad I took this step. Maybe with cooler weather coming, I will be able to walk more. It was just too hot during our 100 degrees all summer.

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

Hey sourmissg, I also haven't been here much lately. I was banded on 9/2/10 and had my first fill on February 21st. I had lost 54 lbs then and am now down 65 pounds. Are you happy with your band? I'm so excited. MyOwnLife

    Don't like the new LBT!

Don't like the changes either. My ticker doesn't show up and I can't figure out how to fix it.

I called the host to make sure they had a salad plate I could use. Won't eat anymore than fits on it. Good luck.

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

I too have found that things I used to love no longer have appeal to me. I tried a wonderful beef filet that just did not excite me at all. My thing I love now is baby dill pickles whenever I want something crunchy to eat. I was a huge sweets fan, but now I can satisfy it with a single life saver (go figure) and be done. I'm curious about thanksgiving and if I'll like the usual things then. MyOwnLife

    Scared! Need a pep talk!

Hey Bugaboo77, I know exactly how you feel. My biggest fear was from the anesthesia. I had resigned myself to never being able to eat the same way I had before. Believe me, you won't always feel deprived. I've had steak, but it just doesn't have the same thrill as before. I miss not being able to have fresh baked bread, but then again, I haven't tried it. Tonight I did have an edge piece from the cornbread I baked. It was very yummy. It will all be okay. Just remember you are doing this for yourself to be able to live a longer life. Good luck. MyOwnLife

    Wee lonely soul

Hey Wee, hang on, it will get better. I had to be hospitalized at 6 day Postop because I couldn't drink and became dehydrated. Drinking lots of liquid is the key at first. Small sips. Trust me, the desire to eat will come. I'm 8 weeks postop now. Good luck. P.

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

Hi all. I'm a September 2010 Bandster also (9/2/10), plus being older than a lot of you (I'm 59). I was Banded on 9/2/10. So far I've lost 39 lbs. I haven't had a fill but had two "unfills" (one the day after surgery and one a week later). Doctor said my band was very tight after surgery and he didn't want to put anything in as long as I was losing. I seem to be at a plateau also since I haven't lost but a pound in three weeks. I'm walking almost every day (not a lot but some); I put in 33 miles in October. Wish I had a gym to go to, but I work two jobs (day job as school secretary and night job at home as medical transcriptionist) so I get my walks in either early in the morning or late evening. I'm thinking I may have to get a fill before Thanksgiving. Hopefully everyone can make it through that without too much trouble.

    Need Breakfast Ideas

I toast half an English muffin. Add slice of canadian bacon, 1 slice fat-free cheese, and an small portion of cooked egg whites (I use the same pan to cook egg whites that i heated the canadian bacon in). Almost like an Egg McMuffin from McD. So far I've only been able to eat half of this open face sandwich My hubby gets the other half of mine. Nice treat on weekends.

    overnight bag?

I have a tendency to pack too much for anything. I took a change of clothes, nightgown and robe, slippers, toiletries. In a tote bag I took a book, magazine, ipod for just in case I felt like using any of them. I used them all! Good luck on your surgery.

    Wooohooo! No longer morbidly obese.

I celebrated also with I was just plain ole obese. I hit it about a month ago and can't wait to get to the overweight range. One day at a time. :smile2:
