The honest truth is I was just flat tired of being fat. I had lost and gained the same hundred lbs for 25 years and I was at the end of the line and was desperate to get the weight off for good. I turned to the band because I needed a permanant solution and not just a bandaid.
I researched my options and found the band to be the best method for me....I never thought I couldn't do it. I knew I would be successful... I had to be. At 377 lbs my life depended on it although I had no health problems so to speak. But I knew if I didn't do something soon... My life would either be miserable or end...and I didn't like those choices.
So I threw myself into my band and we became one. It was the most important thing in my life. Thankfully my husband knew I needed to do this for me and was patient for the most part but it had its trying moments....
I had 217 lbs to lose to get to my goal and 227 to get to my doctors goal. He said it would take 2 1/2 to 3 years. I didn't think I could stay motivated that long so I was super strict with myself and It took 2.
Today I am a new person on the outside and finally feel like the inside matches the outside.... I am happy to share my journey with anyone who asks....it's my way of passing forward all that I have gained in the last two years...and it's not the weight. ;)
