Maybe I need more info but why does it need repositioned? Why not just a fill?
-
So true... When I broke it down... It would have cost me more in the long run with the travel and fills/aftercare.

Banded Already, But New To The Site!
FLORIDAYS replied to vlh567's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
....greetings from sunny Florida . I started my pre op 2 years ago this coming Wednesday at 377 lbs with a BMI of 55. 2 years later I am 162 lbs.... I have lost 215 lbs and my BMI is 23. Congrats on your success and welcome. -
I have spent the last 2 holiday seasons drinking Water in a pretty glass with lots of lemons... It's doable. . And this year I am at goal and will still drink the water but may induldge in a glass or 2 of wine. Of course my stomach isn't used to it anymore so add lots of ice to water it down.... I know ... wine purists will strike me dead....

Ask your dr to prescribe liquid medicines. Or use a pill cutter available at drug stores for about $5

I have to buy premium for my vehicle... It was $3.56 yesterday in Tampa

I would first call to see If your insurance covers banding. If so ask them what their standards are. If they don't and you choose to be self pay or you want to see if your doctor can help you can discuss it with him

I am doing well...thanks for asking. I am down 215 lbs in under 2 years. My BMI went from 55 to 23. I am sorry you haven't had the success you had hoped but it sounds like you know why and are ready to start anew. I wish you all the best as you work towards your goal.

I am in the medical field in a managerial HR capacity.

My dr has 3 rules you must agree to before banding... One of them is you may never have carbonation again. The reasoning behind it is that when you drink carbonation your stomach expands and contracts with every sip. The band is stitched to the upper stoma... If the stomach expands often enough it can loosen the stitches and cause slipping of the band. It always surprises me how doctors differ.

Two Days To Go Before Op
FLORIDAYS replied to lucricia-b's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you going to struggle on the post op diet too? Because if so.. You may want to put off being banded until you are committed. I only say this because it's a major commitment and there is no going back Best wishes as you move forward -
How motivating. Mice job!

I am with the others.... Make sure you have a fill dr lined up. I thought about going. To Mexico to get banded and one of the reasons I didnt is because I couldn't find a dr who provided the after care including fills that I thought was so Important. In fact I found my dr when I was researching it . He wont touch patients banded elsewhere.

Mine is december 18..... So I asked my plastic surgeon and he said it would be up to the ansthesiologist not my bariatric surgeon. I thought that was interesting. I am waiting to hear....

Hiding The Lap Band From Others And General Advice For A Newbie
FLORIDAYS replied to dreamers's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's a personal choice. If you don't want to disclose it to some I would suggest not telling anyone except someone you trust with your life. I wasnt going to tell anyone but it was too hard to explain why i was on liquids during holiday parties so I just decided to come clean. The Support was overwhelming... It made me that much more motivated. -
Aggressive Fills?
FLORIDAYS replied to losangelesislovely's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr is conservative. I think my first fill was 1cc. He doesn't like it to be to tight. His motto is we can always add more. I was banded on December 9..... I was on 3 weeks of liquid then mushies.... On January 1 for a week then I was able to move to solids at almost 4 weeks post op -
Diurex After Surgery? Thoughts?
FLORIDAYS replied to audreycat123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I doubt my dr would have approved but certainly speak to yours about it. Before you take it. He may be fine with it. -

Congratulations!! Keep up the good work! -
You can eat it.......but. It isnt a good idea to swallow unpopped kernels. I don't eat it by the handful anymore,,, i eat them one or 2 at a time. I can rarely eat more than a cup at a sitting.

Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?
FLORIDAYS replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i decided before i was banded that this was going to work. It was drastic and a heartfelt do or die decision on my part so that played a role for me to stick with it. Also I think the band is a permanent reminder so yes for me it was way easier than the thousands of other diets I have been on, I physically cannot eat too much. I will throw up or be so uncomfortable So i avoid it at all costs. Honestly much of the time during my Losing stage I couldn't eat everything on my plate that I was allowed. And I wasn't hungry. The only thing the band doesn't stop is making poor choices... That's all us. But because I could see the results... I was willing to make the sacrifices. -
My surgeon doesn't do the sleeve or bypass. Maybe he feels like it interferes with the normal bodily functions whereas the band doesn't. That's my take on the other procedures . It's just opinions but he was has done over 600 bands I believe... That tells me something.

I wasn't allowed meat for a month.... I did do tuna but but it in the food processor to puree it.

Weight Loss On Pre-Op Diet
FLORIDAYS replied to BandedBettyBoop's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for the compliment I have a friend who was banded about the same time... With similar stats. She lost 11 lbs but she also cheated on the 3rd day.... -
First Meal After
FLORIDAYS replied to ladymarshall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Looks great but fish wasn't on my mushy list. I do eat a lot of fish now tho and love it. Although I did eat tuna... But only because I put it in a blender with sugar and fat free dressing...Yum,
