I appreciate your kind words.... It's been a great ride and I hope I can help others like many helped me....
-
Hope you are doing well today... you were on my mind.... and I can't help but think how much of a favor he really did you....yeah his timing stinks but you are going to have all the time to focus on you with no distractions.... how lucky is that? And then after you've reached your goal you will be amazed at the possibilities which are in front of you it will be endless

I know just how you feel... I spent our vacation in october making up for lost time with pics of us...lol You look fabulous! Keep it up! -
And the minute you move to mushies is when to start tracking your calories and measuring your food. You would be surprise how small 1/4 of mashed potatoes is. This and only this will help you lose and will get you though until you get in the green zone.

thanks Donna...I am glad you are feeling better. Let me ask you... Even tho you ate as a bandster....We're you more hungry without the fill?
-
Funny the plastic surgeon didn't have an opinion. But I called my bariatric dr and he said absolutely have the unfill as did the anesthologist... Go figure. I am really nervous about it...

Please don't cheat anymore. It' defeats the purpose. The pre op diet is hard for several reasons... To shrink your liver for a successful surgery, to teach you you can survive on limited calories and in my case (since I was on a 2 week liquid pre op diet ) that I didn't need to eat food to survive...I just needed nutrition. Also I don't know what kind of post op diet you'll be on my mine was liquids for 2 more weeks then mushies.... So I was an old pro by the time that came around. Best wishes for a successful surgery.

Help! I just dont know what to do,
FLORIDAYS replied to Thoma1984's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am not quite sure I understand your drs position unless there is more to your medical history. If it were me I would get a handle on the situation myself. If you are gaining weight you are eating more calories than you are burning. Unless there is a medical reason to warrant it. Considering there is not... You need to start getting back to basics and be stict with yourself. Decide on a calorie count .... For me it was 1000 because I didn't exercise for the first year. Then start weighing and measuring your food. My dr had me do 3 oz protein, 1/2 c veggie and 1/4 c starch for each meal three times per day. Also I used a phone ap to track everything I put in my mouth except toothpaste. When I hit 1000 calories for the day I was done eating. I didn't cheat, break the rules or try to eat around the band. If you do this I cannot see how you wouldn't lose weight. I was 377 2 years ago. Today I am 157. Why not try it? -
I was on liquids for 2 weeks post up but you may want to check with your dr to see what he wants you eating
-
I cannot eat rice. Well I can eat it but 90% of the time it comes back or prevents me from eating anything else. Other people on here can eat without trouble. But I am not sure I would eat rice yet... You may want to check with the dr first.

How Many Calories Do You Take In A Day
FLORIDAYS replied to kathyzimmerman24's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
During the first 22 months of my journey I ate 3 meals and 1 or 2 snacks and kept my calories at 1000. I am now maintaining but also trying to lose the last 9 lbs.... I am eating about 1300/1500 and still losing just more slowly. I lost 2 lbs in the past month but I am ok with that at this juncture. I don't exercise other than walking -
I am sure it happens more times then we can count. That and 3 party girls, 2 studs, 3 plumbers.... 3 old men, 4 blue hairs.....Pick one....
-
If If it were me talking to my daughtrr wouldn't let her do anything until she was completely comfortable with her decision and the ramifications of living with either surgery.
-
Everyone is different . I personally couldn't have chugged that early... Still cant really now. But Test it....an ounce at a time....

Tomorrow at 11am!!! So nervous and excited!
FLORIDAYS replied to BeeKipp's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please adopt this way of thinking.... I honestly never anticipated failure. I followed my drs orders and stuck to the meal plan like glue. If i can do it....You CAN do this! -
From what my dr told me fruit skins and seeds do not digest well.... And I find it to be true. If I eat a peach or apple with the skin on it I can bring it back up an hour later...no vomiting just comes back in my throat When I eat a berry whole I just eat the inside. I doubt here were seeds in your yogurt if there were no fruit pieces

I like to keep it simple so I count calories .... which at eating 1000 a day means I don't need to worry about fat grams.

ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE FOR WOMEN ONLY !!!
FLORIDAYS replied to MsRhonda's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr didn't have any issue with it..luckily I stopped the day before... But check with your dr. -
I eat berries... I just Try not to eat the seeds
-
Check with your dr but mine would say You shouldn't be eating more than 3oz of Protein, 1/2 c veggies and 1/4 carbs at each meal. If you can eat 3 c of food you need a fill. I cannot answer your question because I never ate that amount of food thus far since being banded ... Even before restriction.

Congrats on your success. Get rid of those clothes.... You will never need them again. . I kept on pair of shorts in a bag in the back of the closet.... They fit my 77" hips 2 years ago. I have looked at them twice. When I put something on and it's too big... It goes in the goodwill bag. Keep up the good work
