how many calories of liquid are you drinking?
-
As Others have said it depends on many factors. personally I have some excess skin that I can live with on my legs and arms... I couldnt live with the tummy so I had a tt. You can see my pics on my gallery if you are interested.

Sounds like all my friends brought you back to reality so I will just wish you well on your journey and hope you will be able to follow the rules from here on out.

Thanks I am happy with the result. I have a pretty long torso as I am tall... It hard to tell but my leg bends just under where the pants are so he put it about as low, as he could. I tried bikini bottoms on and you couldnt see the scar so I was happy about that. I am not going to wear a triangle or anything at 52 yrs old. LOL

I didn't have to lose a certain amount but I had to do the two week pre op liquids diet and I lost 22 lbs. -
We lose weight from top to bottom....just like the way gravity works so we always see a loss in the face first... Then neck shoulders and if you are like I am ...my weight was certainly everywhere but mostly in my hips and legs .... Considering my measurements were 44/42/77. I thought it would take forever until I lost below the waist and my clothes fell off me... I lost 100 lbs and I was still wearing a 1x skirt and xl tops.... But it eventually does come off because 2 years later I am 34/28/37.... Wearing smalls and 6/8s So while the scale is moving please remember the weight is coming off from somewhere....don't worry about your clothes yet.... The will fall off before you know it. You are doing a wonderful job!!!

What did your lap band cost out of pocket?
FLORIDAYS replied to dford's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine was a flat fee of 10k which included everything (dr, labs, pre op shakes, NUT etc) except the psych eval... but my insurance covered that as a regular dr visit. The flat rate also included fills for the first 6 months -

Looks like i dont get to be a bander :(
FLORIDAYS replied to hfrance11's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I understand... My policy didnt cover it... I appealed as you can but if it doesnt cover it... it doesnt cover it. Its not like they denied you... its universal to that plan. I was able to cut a deal with the dr/hospital.... for a flat fee. Half down and payments to the hospital for 2 years. Which actually were reduced after my 2md payment to half if I paid it off...which I did. Believe me when I tell you.... its worth every cent! I -
How AWFUL are these protein shakes?!
FLORIDAYS replied to This Girl Is Losing It's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I suggested the adding the flavors becasue if your dr is like mine... I had to drink the shakes he prescribed... so while some of the store bought shakes might be fine...if you can drink anything if you were like me.... I had to drink the ones he wanted me to. In fact my dr actually supplied them..... -

FLORIDAYS replied to This Girl Is Losing It's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not a vanilla fan but if I was faced with 42 shakes in a flavor I didnt like I would add something to in like any type of liquid flavoring extract you can find in a spice isle of your local market. I know McCormick makes berry, coffee, vanilla, orange, strawberry, cocoa.... anything to jazz up or cover the strong vanilla flavor. And You are right...mixing it with ice in a blender does make it better for some reason. Hang in there! -

FLORIDAYS replied to healthylifestyle4me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am guessing this is a tongue in cheek post and you are milking this for all its worth and I say good for you! What they dont know wont hurt them! That said other than lifting more than 10 lbs for few weeks I had no restrictions. My surgery was on a Thursday and I returned to my desk job on Tuesday for 2 half days then back at full speed on Thursday. It took me about 2 weeks to get my energy back to normal. Best wishes for a successfull surgery and an even more supportive family! -

FLORIDAYS replied to sunshine412's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been banded 25 Months and lost 220 lbs. I hit that mark 2 months ago. I am currently maintaining. During the losing stage I ate 3 meals per day of: 3 oz of protien like meat, fish, pork, eggs, cottage cheese or chicken 1/2 c vegtable (any kind) or salad 1/4 c starch like potato, 1 slice wheat bread, 4-5 crackers or rice etc I usualy ate 2 Snacks. One in the mid morning like fruit and the other at night like 1 c of popcorn or a sugar free pudding or ice cream bar. My calorie limit for any day was 1000, I drank 64 oz of Water daily and took a multi Vitamin. -
What Does Having The Lapband Feel Like?
FLORIDAYS replied to SinCityGal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Glad you are asking questions! Here are my experiences with the band. Can anyone tell me what it feels like to have a LapBand? I only notice it when I eat. It doesn't feel like anything... But I know it's working when I am satisfied after a cup or so of food Can you feel it? No Do you feel like it's hard to breathe? No Do you have a hard time swallowing? I do not What is a 'stuck' episode? Does it get stuck in your esophagus or in the small stomach? It feels like it gets stuck in the lower throat but I know it's lower...it like tightness in my chest Does having a LapBand make you have heartburn? No Can you still eat spicy foods? Yes Can you still guzzle Water or will it be sip city forever? I cannot guzzle abwholewater bottle all at once. I can take large sips ....maybe 1/2 c at a time Any permanent damage from it? Not that I know of Do you like it or dislike it? I love love love that it prevents me from over eating.... -

What food do you miss the most??
FLORIDAYS replied to Creekwood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I miss diet coke worse then I can tell you. But I knew going into this that carbonation was forbidden.... So its just the way it is. As far as actually food goes.... I could eat a small bit of anything I want but my band just will not tolerate grease.... So while I could have 2 or 3 French fries or hash browns or any other greasy food in moderation .... I end up bringing it back up so I forgo it. I especially miss hooters chicken wings.... In a BIG way.... -
My dr explained that with every sip the band expands and contracts...and doing that over time may lead to slippage. He said it may not happen but he doesn't feel it's worth the risk...... Neither do I so now I just pine over my missed diet coke....lol

"When are you going to have babies of your own?"
FLORIDAYS commented on Jim1967's blog entry in Jim1967's Blog
I believe most people aren't malicious when they ask.... but they just don't think it through so the don't realize there might be a back side to the story. Thanks for sharing...it's a good reminder that there may be more to a situation then we know and we should always tread with caution when asking personal questions -
Tummy tuck and breast left on Tuesday 12/18
FLORIDAYS replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Had another appointment with my dr this morning.... To check on how the healing and oozing is going, as much as he tried he couldn't squeeze anything out of the belly button which I happen to think is a good sign. He swabbed inside of the lower opening and said it will take 2/3 wks to close up and when it does he believes it will be just fine. So I have to contend with the gauze and dressing for a few more weeks and have to go on five days of antibiotic for a precaution.... He wants to see me on Thursday morning to check the progress. I told him I need to have a desk set up because I am there so much...lol. He said he feels so badly this happened... Not that we could have predicted it.... But he is being overly cautious I think to make sure I heal. That's a good thing. My energy is still not up to par but getting better daily. I am also surprised how long it's taking to feel like me again!!
