Denise he would have to sign his assessts over to you or another sibling. After that he should be able to go for his Veterans Benefits. He should be able to get his Social Security now and as long as he has enough quarters. You would have to go to Social Security and talk about signing him up for Social Security. They probably take it for his care at the assisted living. I think it has to be 40 qiarters which I am sure he has that. In California they have about 4 Veterans Homes. The main one in Yountville California where I used to work at.If he is at the Veterans Home it would be based on his income. If you ever get a chance you should visit it. It would probably be ideal. Also if your mom is still alive she can go in with him. They have a married quarters. You take care.
