  1. Glad to see I didn't do all that badly during my little 5 day trip, when I threw caution to the wind!

How Much Protein In One Sitting?

I've always heard that the body can't absorb more than 25 grams of protein at a time.
  3. Just go and read the band to sleeve revision forum and you will find out just how much trouble the band causes. If the band didn't cause problems, there would not be so many people having it removed and getting the sleeve. Sometimes the band does so much damage to the stomach, that you can't even get any type of revision surgery at all.
  4. I m all for hormone replacement therapy. Perhaps you were on too high of a doseage? I get mine from a compounding pharmacy. They do a blood test to see where you are, and make the dosage according to the test results. Do they do anything like that there? If not, go back to the doc and explain the night sweats and hot flashes and tell them you need help! Maybe a very low dose is what you need right now. It is hard to stay motivated. I am having that same problem. I have to watch everything I eat or I start gaining immediately . I just have to keep telling myself that I have to make good choices if I am going to be where I want to be. I would cut carbs even if they are good carbs and see if makes any difference, drink lots of Water and exercise as much as you can. Don't beat yourself up if you can't fit it in, but try to go as much as you can. Then just keep telling yourself you're doing a great job and all you can do is try your best.
  5. going away for a few days is a good idea, but I wish I could have packed my scale. I admit I am scale obsessed!

  6. Sometimes you have to put up a post that says "anyone want to chat?" People go to view to content and will see that. I think more people chat in the evening than the daytime. and it depends on your time zone too. I've always had people come into the chat room when I put up a message that I want to chat.
  7. Every time I click on New Content, it says, sorry there is no new content. I know there is. I haven't logged on all day so what is the deal with this? How am I supposed to read the board. I always click on View New Content!

    SEX...TMI??? I Know But I Gotta "ASK"!!!

I'd love to know what position that is!
  10. I have heard 25 grams, and maybe a little more first thing in the morning when you've been without food all night. That is what my nutritionist told me.

Week Out. Need ideas for Full Liquids?

Oh clear liquids. Dr. Aceves let me have Soy Slender even though it's not clear because it's very thin. It's on the shelf not in the fridge. Isopure if you can stand it, and Syntrex Nectar has quite a few clear protein drinks. Besides that I put GNC unflavored protein powder in gatoraide, poweraide, Hawaiian punch, and crystal lite are all sf. Also K20 protein water.

Week Out. Need ideas for Full Liquids?

Full liquids I was allowed anything I could fit through a straw. Thin cream of wheat, applesauce, drinkable yogurt, egg drop soup, tomato soup with cottage cheese blended in, thin pudding, blended cheese and broccoli soup. That's all I can think of right now!
  13. Gotta dig deep and find that willpower for my liile road trip to California

  14. I'm 2 1/2 years post op and I'm still at goal. I can tell you that nothing will make me gain weight faster than sugar. My portions are so small that I can pretty much eat whatever I want for my meals. As soon as I make the decision to eat some sort of dessert, I can be guaranteed a gain on the scale the next day. That doesn't mean I don't eat treats on special occasions, but I know I have to be very good and watch what I eat all week long afterward to make up for it. You won't gain weight back if you're careful and weigh yourself frequently.

    Puree Phase

I had H Pylori. The antibiotics were hard for me to take because they made me nauseous and left a bad taste in my mouth. It was a long 2 weeks but it's completely gone now. I also had to take some other stuff in addition to the antibiotics.

    Drinking Protein

I used GNC unflavored and put it in anything sf I could find. Crystal lite. Gatoraide, Poweraide, Hawaiian Punch, etc, all come in SF.

    Alternatives to Whey Protein?

I think Jay Robb may just be soy Protein but I can't remember. They sell it at the Vitamin shoppe. Diarrhea is pretty normal post op. You might try Muscle Milk which is supposed to be lactose free, but it's whey, and see what happens. You can buy them in RTD cartons. I love muscle milk light.
  18. Happy Birthday to my sweetheart. Now please take your chocolate cake home with you!

    Samples?

Go to the food forum and you'll find a whole list of places you can get samples. If you have a GNC near you, they will let you return things you don't like. It's smart not to buy much before surgery, because people's taste for things does change. I bought an unflavored Protein powder at GNC but it is not tasteless. If I put it in something with a strong flavor, such as crystal lite, it wasn't too bad. You can also get unflavored from unjury, and I'm sure they have samples listed in the food forum.

    SEX...TMI??? I Know But I Gotta "ASK"!!!

It's very possible if you've gone through menopause that you need hormones. I am on bioidentical hormones and I love having a sex life, even if I am 59, now that I have lost all my weight. I'm sorry to hear your husband is not very supportive of your weight loss
  21. I have one for breakfast every day because I was never a breakfast eater. Now I just love them. I put crushed ice in the blended with the protein powder and water and it gets thick like a milk shake. I use Torrinia's or DaVinchi SF syrup to change the flavors .
  22. Oregondaisy

    ok so... this is hard

Don't worry. You will lose it! Just follow the rules and try not to worry. You just barely had surgery, so give it time. If you're having a rough time with Protein, what are you having for protein? Maybe I can give you some ideas.

    Ideas for "mushy" foods please!

If I remember correctly, you take ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and and egg and beat it all together. Bake it and you can put spaghetti sauce over it when it's done. I am sure the recipe is in the food forum. It's yummy and perfect for the mushie stage. One thing I ate a lot of during the mushie stage was turkey chili. I blended it up with lite sour cream and melted cheese on top. Again, yummy.
  24. You're lucky! I would love to not have gas. As long as I stay away from sugar, and I do for the most part, it's a lot better.
  25. What stage are you on? Are you supposed to be on Clear liquids that's one thing. If you can have full liquids you can go to the store and get some soup that appeals to you and blend it in a blender until there are no chunks. Tomato soup with cottage blended in has Protein.
