Tips For Protein Shakes?!
Oregondaisy replied to mxmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gaspari Myofusion Peanut Butter and chocolate is my absolute favorite. I get it at vitacost.com I get so much stuff there. Free shipping over 49.00 but i love the Oh Yeah peanut butter/choc Protein bars so it's easy to make a $50.00 order. My first few months post op, I could barely eat more than a few bites of food every day, so yes, I definitely supplemented with Protein drinks until I was able to eat more nomally. -
I was going to say too that it sounds like you could be having a gall bladder attack. Try googling that too and see if you have any other symtoms of gall bladder problems. A gall bladder attack is very painful. Believe me, I was freaking out over having to go to the hospital and what it would cost. In the end, I had no choice and went straight to the emergency room.

Tips For Protein Shakes?!
Oregondaisy replied to mxmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can get some great samples if you go to the food section and the thread "places to order samples." The Syntrex nectar sample pack is a great deal and so is the Chike. People seem to really like both of those brands in all the flavors. I agree the Premier from costco are great too. I don't have a Costco here, but I pick them up when I am out of town. -
I am over 2 1/2 years out and I haven't gained it back. You do have to watch the junk food consumption but as far as meals go, I can't eat much so if I don't pig out on candy, I stay at goal. I paid 10 grand for my revision surgery in MX and it was the best money I have ever spent!

Dating After Surgery! Help Please!
Oregondaisy replied to Sleeving into success's topic in Singles Forum
There is a very active singles board on OH ( Obesity Help) We talk about that a lot. I had WLS 5 years ago, so I have dated lots of guys. None of them cared. In fact, a lot of them said they know someone else who had WLS. I am now living with my bf and the only thing he says once in awhile is that I sure don't eat much, but he's glad I am not fat!! I have to say how nice it was to put my profile on the online dating sites and be able to check the box "average" instead of few extra lbs or BBW, and to not be afraid to post a picture!! -
I bet it's cheaper to order the Nectar products directly from Sytrex. I know you can get samples of all the flavors from them for around $13. The phone number is in the food section under places to get samples. It's a very good deal!!

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Oregondaisy replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am really glad I didn't gain anything this holiday season. I really can't afford to eat junk food cause it's now a lot harder for me to lose it if I gain a few pounds by eating stuff I'm not supposed to eat. I am just thrilled that I didn't gain anything from going away to Disneyland even though I ate out for all meals this past week. I refuse to buy new pants!! -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Oregondaisy replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't drink with my meals. I don't drink alcohol at all. I usually eat around 5pm and have 100 calorie pack of almonds around 8pm. The reason my friend gained weight back is because after awhile, she could eat bigger portions. I really do think it's easy to gain weight back because it's really hard to maintain and eat such few calories. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Oregondaisy replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would like to know the same thing. I know people who were sleeved around the same time as me (more than 2 years out) and are like me, struggling to maintain their weight loss. I know someone who has also gained back more than 25 lbs. She is about 3 years out. -
Mushy Foods - I Need Your Input!
Oregondaisy replied to Stacey Nicole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Look for the ricota bake recipe in the food forum. Mushy foods I enjoyed were tuna salad, egg salad and chicken salad make with Miracle Whip Light, refried Beans and cheese, mashed up white fish, cottage cheese, and ground beef such as meat loaf or meat balls. -
Drastic Weight Loss Within First Month
Oregondaisy replied to dxbguy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a friend who had problems like you are describing. She found out she was having esophageal spasms. She had to slowly sip warm broth or liquids to soothe her esophagus. In between meals, she sucked on ice chips to keep herself hydrated. I would think the first thing your surgeon would have done was prescribe an acid blocker. Please keep us informed of your progress so that others can learn from this too. I am so sorry you're experiencing this and I hope it passes soon. -

Need Some Help. What Did You Do With Very Slow Losses?
Oregondaisy replied to Veda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you had a lower bmi to start with, it's common not to lose as fast as people who have a lot more to lose. I never lost consistently every week. I would go maybe 3 weeks without losing anything and then suddenly drop 5 lbs in one week. You're doing everything right. My nutritionist told us that how much Protein you need depends on your height. 60-70 grams may just be enough for you. -
Did Anyone Have The Smaller Lap Band 2002
Oregondaisy replied to kuntrystrong's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a small band and had no trouble having the revision surgery and the band removed at the same time. Are you having any problems or symptoms of band troubles? -

I can see above a post where someone has used the like button on a post. How do I see if a post of mine has had someone click on the like button? When it's my own post , none of that is above the post. I can see where I have clicked the like button on someone else's post. Thanks Alex or Ken or whoever can answer this!

Thanks Irene! You're always such a big help. Hope to see you back in chat again soon.

I order from the senior menu, or order an appetizer, or share a meal with a friend. If I order a regular meal off the menu, I take most of it home. I find myself ordering chicken salad a lot , because it's really easy for me to eat.

Go to the food section of this board and you'll find a thread on where to order samples. You can get chike samples pretty cheap. Also, the Syntrex Nectar products are very popular and have some clear options. Also , the samples for that are pretty cheap!

Anyone Else Hate To Eat Out?
Oregondaisy replied to Michell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly, you will be surprised at how much normally you will be able to eat after you are farther out. I can eat A LOT of salad. I guess that's because lettuce chews down to nothing. Some places even offer half salads. I love that. half of a chicken salad is just about perfect.
