I can't drink milk but I have no trouble with whey protein. I am really glad because I do love my protein shakes. -
Carnivor Protein Shots
Oregondaisy replied to Finding Myself's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I hope someone else can find some information on this product because I have a feeling it's not good for you, just like collegan protein is not good for you. Collegan is made from boiled cow hides, so I just wonder where this beef is coming from. -
What Vitamins/supplements Do You Take (Brands/types?)
Oregondaisy replied to LoserMama's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Yes the brand does matter when it comes to calcium . We have to take calcium citrate and viactiv is calcium carbonate. We need 1500 mg of calcium per day, taken separately 3x per day 500 mg. per day. I get the chocolate chews from Bariatric Advantage for 500 per day. I also use a berry flavored liquid from costco for 500 a day, and 3 calcium citrate capsules which I get from vitacost.com. for another 500. I also take bariatric advantage chewable Iron with Vitamin C. My D3 I take 10,000 a day for 50,000 per week, because my vit d was in the toilet too. I was advised by the dr. that I need 50,000 per week. I get the 10,000 little capsules also from vitacost.com I also take a B complex, my mulit is a gummie for adults. I also take 5000 of Biotin per day, although honestly, I don't think it does anything. -

Miralax will work. Give it time. Start using it every day for awhile. You can stop it if you start getting loose stools.

Peanut Butter? Pureed Or Not Pureed? That Is My Question...
Oregondaisy replied to hope2Bfitand40's topic in Food and Nutrition
I use a little Hamilton Beach one serving blender. I use about a tablespoon. It whips right up into the shake with the Protein powder. I find if you don't blend it well, it can be al little gritty. If anyone wants to order it, check their website. I am not sure if Amazon is cheaper. The people that make it is Bell Plantation. -

KFC's BBQ chicken snacker is really pretty perfect. I don't eat all the bread. -
yes, my hair is coming back in. I had gall bladder surgery after my VSG and I lost hair again when I had that surgery. I have to watch what I eat. It's easy to gain weight back, if you start eating sweets and junk food again, or eat in between meals.

Peanut Butter? Pureed Or Not Pureed? That Is My Question...

I've never tried the chocolate. -
It's pretty amazing, really! I'm 59 years old and having the best sex of my life. Thank you VSG!

Oh I know. It's horrible. It's a big problem in m life. I try to be really careful of what I eat. I know one thing that causes it is sugar. One Halloween, I ate some candy while taking my grandson trick or treating. We went to his day care to trick or treat, and I really embarassed myself. Silent but empty out a room stinky.

You can order PB2 online. It's dehydrated peanuts and you can mix it with Water to make Peanut Butter with way less fat. It's a powder so you can put it in stuff too. I ate peanut butter as soon as I was off liquids. -

I eat a soft taco from taco bell. I eat all the lettuce, sour cream and cheese and a few bites of the tortilla. For the most part, I take a few bites with the tortilla, then tear it off, and just eat the insides. yummy -
I'll be 3 years in a month and I can definitely eat way more than I could a year ago. I sincerely hope that this is as much as it's going to stretch. One good thing is I am still rarely hungry. So just because I can eat more, I don't necesarrily do it. I still try to eat small portions most of the time.

Denied Due To Weight Gain-Suggestions?
Oregondaisy replied to Sherry0823's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you counting your carbs? You need to make sure not to get more than 20 in per day. It's hard to do for long periods of time. Make sure you drink a lot of water too. -
Perimenopause is the years before menopause. You are probably in perimsopause since that is what your family history is. Perimeopause causes your periods to become irratic and sometimes they are closer together and sometimes farther apart. This can go on for a few years before they become farther and farther apart and finally quit.

Not Sure Where Im Going...... Scared
Oregondaisy replied to louise aussie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Don't even try ice cream. It sounds wonderful but it makes everyone sick. Just try to sip Water or other liquids. Try to take a small sip every 10 min. Warm seems to work best for most people in the beginning. -
Once you test positive for H. Pylori you will always test positive for it. You need to give a stool sample to test for it, not a blood test, if you have already tested positive for it.

Post Ops: After The Two Years Is The Size Of Food The "normal Size?"
Oregondaisy replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't have a Pizza Hut here. The size of pizza is a thin crust regular pizza. -
I have the chat window open. I can leave it open while I do other things, and listen for the door bell that will sound if someone else opens the chat window. Does anyone feel like chatting?

I'll be 3 years out next month and I can eat quite a bit more than I could at 2 years out. I can now pretty much eat 2 pieces of pizza. It used to be one piece and I was stuffed. I can eat half of a sandwich. I normally stick to meat and veggies, but I do seem to eat more if I am out to eat with friends. -
I heard Kirstie did have WLS. I haven't seen her lately to see if she's lost any weight. Oprah has said that she doesn't believe in WLS. She thinks people should just do it naturally. She needs to realize yer yo yo dieting is not healthy and think of it as a way to become healthy.
