1 Year Out An Its Not Good.
Oregondaisy replied to Skinnyagain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have any idea what size your sleeve is? I am 3 years out and there is no way I can eat 6-8 oz. I get mad sometimes because I can eat a lot more now than I could at one year. I can eat 8 oz of yogurt, but no way could I eat an 6-8 oz steak. Even though your sleeve seems to be on the larger size, you can still do your part by making sure your carbs are healthy carbs from vegetables and not white carbs such as rice and Pasta. The Protein you eat should be lean protein. Tracking it all on a site such as myfitnesspal, like everyone suggests, should show you exactly how many carbs and calories you're consuming. Good luck. You can do this! -
Bariatric Advantage, Where Is My Stuff?

Their calcium citrate choc chews are so much cheaper than the Celebrate Brand. I get them on auto ship for 9.99 but I love them so much, I get 2 bags for 19.98. The Celebrate ones are over $100! Their customer serivce was great when they accidentally sent me the wrong flavor one time. They sent an extra bag to make up for it. -
It's good to see so many people in their 50's join this thread.I'm happy that so many people are getting sleeved now. I can't believe I celebrated my 3rd surgiversary already. I really can't believe I will be 60 this October. The sleeve has made me feel so much younger because I am so much more active now. I guess I'll have to join the 60's thread in 6 months

The best thing ever invented are those crock pot liners. I am using my crock pot way more now! There are some good recips online from a site called skinny crock pot. I googled slow cooker and crock pop and got tons of sites with great recipes.

There is a huge list of protein drink recipes in the food forum. I am pretty sure it's under protein drinks.

Holy Cow Be Careful What You Ask For !
Oregondaisy replied to beachlover1129's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Everyone is different . I could have gone on a trip 4 days after surgery, easily. I went back to work on Monday after having surgery on the Wed. before. I guess that was 5 days after surgery. You don't know how you're going to feel though. There are plenty of people who say 2 weeks after surgery, they still felt really lousy. If you can reschedule your surgery for after the trip, it's probably the way to go. -
The reason he is acting clingy is because he can sense that you're pullling away from him. You really aren't being fair to him or yourself by staying with him when you no longer return his feelings. It's scary, I'm sure, to make changes. For now, you need to tell him you don't want to get married in Antartica, and aren't really sure that you're ready to get married anytime soon.

I Don't Want To Eat Normal Ever Again!
Oregondaisy replied to JaspersGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It scares me that I can eat way more at 3 years than I could at a year. I try to just eat the amount I always ate before I hit the 3 year mark, even though I could eat more. I am lucky that I love my Protein shakes, and I am never really hungry. If I end up eating too much and I gain back some weight, I go right back to Protein Shakes. Losing weight was easy. Maintenance is much harder. -
I googled cupping and could not find anything out about it.

Do You Mix Your Unjury And Chike Samples With 8 Or 16 Ozs Of Water?
Oregondaisy replied to Delta_35's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Sometimes the samples are half servings, so you add less water. I've never used more than 8oz of water in any protein drink, no matter which brand. -

Has anyone tried Hood Carb Countdown chocolate milk? I use half a cup of this and half C Water and it sure makes delicious shakes. PVL whey gourmet in Peanut Butter and chocolate is fantastic tasting. You can get it at Netrition.com -

I don't understand how all this works. Can someone explain it to me? I went there, and I couldn't see how you interact with friends, etc. I can only see where I log in my food. I don't have a smart phone. I use a lap top. -

Suggestions On Protein?

Your best bet would be to go to the food forum here and look at all the places you can get samples. It's hard to settle on one this early out. I would get a whole bunch of different samples for now. I think Matrix is a really good product. It's low calorie and low carb.it's also made by Syntrex, the same co. that makes nectar, but it's not very sweet. You can get it at vitacost.com -
My friend does this all the time, and she was sleeved 3 years ago. I read that it's considered an eating disorder, but I don't understand why. It's not the same as bulemia. That sounds dangerous, forcing yourself to puke.

Official Ongoing Gastric Sleeve Maintenance Thread
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Are you on a PPI? Acid can cause the sensation of being hungry. I can definitely eat way more than I used to be able to. It scares me a lot at times, but I try not to eat as much as I am able to and stick to the smaller portions. I would definitely say it stretches. They say 10 lbs is the normal regain after 2 years. I really have to watch what i eat now, because it's very easy for me to put on a few lbs if I am not careful. -

Click is pretty popular in the mocha flavor. All the coffee drinkers seem to really like it. -
Places to get liquid protein samples
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
i went to that site but I couldn't see where you can order samples. I saw that they had many different brands to choose from, but where do you go on that page to look at the samples? -
Most people seem to have problems with eggs . I see this over and over again. You would think because they are soft and seem mushy that they would be a good food for a sleeve but most people say they are not.
-
did you drink something carbonated? I am sure you did not harm your sleeve. At the most, you probably swallowed some air. Have you tried gas X?

I've never seen Special K Protein. I have seen plenty of Special K, but none of it says protein on it.
