Have you posted under the complications section? There are people who have had major compliccations who would be able to answer your questions better, or at least better understand what you are going through. I am glad you're going to see an attorney. Just because you chose this WLS, does not mean you chose to have serious complications.

You can get crystal lite called "Pure" and it's sweetened with Stevia. I won't use anything with aspertame either.

May I Please Have Some Pre-Made Shake Recomendations
Oregondaisy replied to Bigdogkc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never heard of anyone who didn't like the Premeire from Costco. Unfortunately for me, the closest Costco is 100 miles away. I always stock up on them when I am out of town. -
Okay, so I was babysitting for a neighbor of mine. She called to see how the kids were doing. They were sleeping but I asked her if she had anything for a stuffed up nose. I was thinking she might have some sort of decongestant but I didn't see any in the medicine cabinet. She told me next to her bed, on the night stand, there was a bottle of nose spray and I could use that. ( I washed the tip of the bottle with alcohol) Also on the night stand, was a tube of lube that said it was for anal sex. It got me wondering why women do this. I could see why a guy would want to do it. I would suppose it's tighter and feels good for him. But does it feel good for her? I can't see it feeling any different than being horribly constipated. I wish I had never seen that tube of lube!

I am really gassy and I have to watch what it eat. It can be quite embarassing.

Well do him a favor and talk him out of the band. He will just have to have it taken out to get a revision surgery! Glad you were comfortable and it sounds like it went well. It will only get easier from now on, so that means it will only get better!

I love the Oh Yeah, and I absolutely love Power Crunch. Both are the lowest carb I have found and taste really good. I can't have sugar alcohol because it gives me extreme gas and those have no sugar alcohol. Most of the ones that taste good have a lot of sugar alcohol.

Official Ongoing Gastric Sleeve Maintenance Thread
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Congratulations VGB. We are glad to have you here. Maintenance can be tricky for sure. I am struggling now, at 3 years, so keep my loss off. It's so much easier to gain now, than it was a year ago. -
Hormones can definitely run amuck, and mess with our emotions. I was on anti depressants for years . I am happy to be off of them. I still do take ativan on occasion.
-
Don't get me wrong though. I can eat more than I could before, but there is no way way I can eat as much as before surgery, or as much as my friends who have not had surgery. I don't really get hungry either. Head Hunger is something we all fight with, but at least I can't eat an entire pizza.

The only place I have ever gotten PVL Whey Gourmet is at netrition.com I get Gaspari Myofusion peanut butter/chocolate at vitacost.com .Their shipping is free if you order over $49 which is easy to do. they have everything. It's not as expensive as PVL because it's a 5 lb tub not a 2 lb tub. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Maybe he thinks that those meals only contain a certain amount of calories so it's more controlled? That's all I can think of. -

Kinda thought things would be better by now
Oregondaisy replied to bonbon85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Only you can decide if you're ready to take that step. I know with my bf, I made sure we were both on the same page, as far as monogomy goes. He told me he wanted a LTR with me, and had no desire to see anyone else. We have been together over a year now. -
It's usually the hospital that adds so much to the cost. That's a very good price for the US . If you are comfortable with this doctor, I would schedule surgery. My band surgeon charges the same, but it doesn't include any hospital costs so he sends you home and you come in the next day for an IV. No thanks! That's why I went to the very experienced Dr. Aceves to have my band removed and do my revision surgery. I felt very comfortable in that wonderful hospital for 3 days and got better care there than I did here, when I had my gall bladder removed a few months later.

It's because surgery is a shock to your system. If you do a thread search up at the top right, under search forum and put in hair loss, there is a lot of information on this. It usually starts around month 4, gets better around month 9 and stops at a year. For some lucky people, it doesn't last as long. You can take Biotin all kinds of hair and nail Vitamins, get more Protein, etc, but it will stop when it wants to.

Oregondaisy replied to ChristyLove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a really good Peanut Butter chocolate. You get it from netrition.com It's called PVL whey Gournet peanut butter chocolate. It's kind of expensive for only 2lbs though. I get Gaspari Myofusion Peanut Butter chocolate from vitacost.com You can also get the nectar flavors there, if you find one you like. I also get my Sytrax Matrix from Vitacost. I like it because it's the lowest carb lowest calorie for the best taste. free shipping if your order over $49 worth of stuff. That's easy to do, because they have just about anything you can think of there. -
Protein Shakes The Best, The Good, The Okay, And The Don't Do It List

You can try skim milk, but a lot of people have trouble with milk after surgery. We become lactose intollerant for awhile. Soy Slender is really good. I also use low fat vanilla soy milk that I get from the dollar tree. I mix mine with this. -
go to the food forum and look under protein drinks. There is huge list of recipes.

Is Keeping The Secret Possible?
Oregondaisy replied to Nikki613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started going to the gym trying very hard to lose weight, for YEARS before I had WLS. After surgery, it was pretty easy to say that I was working out, counting calories, eating smaller portions , and that I drank Protein shakes for Breakfast and sometimes lunch. Everyone knew how hard I was trying to lose weight before so it made sense that I was finally losing weight. The only people who know are my kids and my boyfriend, and a couple friends who also had WLS . My coworkers don't know, and a lot of judgemental familly members don't know I had WLS. -
Anyone Take A Cruise After Being Sleeved?
Oregondaisy replied to IrishSoul's topic in Food and Nutrition
It was hard with food around everywhere. There's an ice cream bar next to the pool. There was a candy store I had to pass all the time. Temptations everywhere!! I did gain some, but I was able to lose it as soon as I got home and went back to my regular eating habits. -
Gallbladder Issues?
Oregondaisy replied to mistyf6572's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Having gall bladder problems is very common after WLS. Most people end up having their gall bladders out. The told me in the hospital that rapid weight loss causes gall stones. Gall bladder surgery was much more painful that either my band or my sleeve surgery. -
Protein Shakes The Best, The Good, The Okay, And The Don't Do It List
Oregondaisy replied to ChristyLove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never used a blender bottle. I really love to blend up ice and make them thick like a milkshake. I've used a mini blender every morning for the last 5 years. I've heard that Nectar is hard to mix in a blender bottle. It clumps and gets lumpy. Are you trying to drink tap water? I've heard the deal with water is that tap water is the wrong PH balance for our tiny tummies. I do find bottled water goes down easier, and it has to be room temp. Some brands of bottled water don't go down as well as others, so I'm thinking that the PH balance our tummies like is a sensitive balance. -
Your body does get used to however many calories you are giving it. So, during the losing phase, when I could barely eat, I was losing well. Now that I am 3 years out, of course I am no longer only eating 800 calories per day. The problem is, my body got used to only eating 800 calories per day, and now I gain weight back very easily. It's scary.
