Be careful with Zumba. You can get hurt in there and not even know it. I know people who have had stress fractures, and quite a few people who have blown out their knees, by twisting just right. I love Zumba. I am very uncoordinated, but I just do my best and have fun. The Zumba gold is too slow for me, but it's probably way better on my joints. Zumba really does hurt my neck, so I can't go as often as I would like to.

There are a few people who have trouble losing, even with the sleeve . The sleeve is the first part of a 2 part surgery. The duodenal switch, or the DS has the malabsorbtion added to it. You may need to look into that surgery.

Truvia is a brand of Stevia. Stevia is a plant. You can get it at Walmart, but I just buy Stevia.

Those soups should be just fine. They aren't high in fat. Most of the people i know used those soups in cartons. I know there is a squash one.

My name is Denise. I am 59 years old now. I was one of the first people to join this board when it started 3 years ago. I was very anxious for Alex to get this board started, after I started having band problems. I knew I was going to have it removed. My husband and I own 700 acres on which we raise buffalo. I don't know how many people know that buffalo meat has the lowest fat and calories than any other meat, even chicken and fish. It also has the highest amount of Iron. I've been at goal for most of the 3 years, but I am having a lot of trouble now, keeping it off. I have to watch every bite I put into my mouth, or I gain back 5 lbs in a matter of a couple days. It's way easier to gain now, than it was a year ago. It really scares me.

The ones I take are 5,000. They really haven't done anything, but I take them anyway. I guess I am afraid to find out what would happen with no biotin.

Tried My First Protein Shake Today

Isopure is pretty awful. You can get it in single bottles at GNC and if you keep your receipt, you can take it back if you don't like it. -

For Those Who Have Made It To Goal Or Are Almost There..!
Oregondaisy replied to daly contreras's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Of course. We are all human. Nobody is perfect. If you do your best the MAJORITY of the time, you will do just fine. -
The poster was probably banned because he broke some rules. When you sign up for an account here, you agree to follow the rules. If you don't follow the rules, you lose your account. Who knows if he broke a rule on this thread or another. The point is, this thread is no longer relevant.

The Last Time I Ask About Hair....i Promise!
Oregondaisy replied to jailynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Premeire Protein drinks are really good. I haven't heard of anyone not liking them. You get them at costco. They are 160 calories for 30 grams of Protein. They taste like choc. milk. Do you like tuna? tuna is very high in protein. So are eggs and cottage cheese. -
The Last Time I Ask About Hair....i Promise!
Oregondaisy replied to jailynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For most people, hair loss stops at about one year post op. You should be over the worst of it. Your Protein is not all that low. How tall are you? My nutritionist told me the taller you are, the more protein you need. I am 5'2" and she said I need 60 grams per day. A cup of plain ff greek yogurt has 23 grams of protein. I put Torrini's sf coconut syrup in it and it's pretty yummy . You can put sf cheese cake pudding in it too, and that's also very good. What kinds of things do you eat to get your protein. You asked for protein ideas, so it would help if we knew what you're already eating. -
Where did you go in Mexico? We need to be aware of the places that give the kind of care you recevied there. I am sorry you are going through this. Nobody should have to deal with this. I hope you heal very quickly and can put this behind you soon.

If you started at 219, you aren't going to lose as fast as someone who started out at a higher weight. Plus you didn't say if you lost anything on a preop diet. Your body likes to get used to it's new weight before it decides to give up any more. Stalls are something we all go through. Onederland is when you weigh one hundred and something instead of two hundred and something.

Leak Test Before Leaving Mexico?
Oregondaisy replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr. Aceves performs 3 leaks test before you leave the hospital. That is one of the reasons I choose him for my surgeon. -
I love Kellogs Multi grain fiber crackers. They are getting hard to find. I get them at K Mart, of all places. They aren't all that bad, carb wise either. I love to eat a few with a Babybell cheese (Light)

Official Ongoing Gastric Sleeve Maintenance Thread
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Actually, yogurt is a slider food too. There are foods that are good for us that are complete slider foods too. There are way too many slider foods. The only thing that really fills me up fast is SURPRISE, dense protein. Meat is about the ony thing that I eat when I can really tell I have a sleeve. -
When Is The Best Time To Buy New Clothes?
Oregondaisy replied to MrBig's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a very hard question to answer because everyone is different. The best thing to do is hit up the consignment shops, good will, garage sales, and clearance sales. You find find some really great deals at places like this. When you get close to your goal, then you might want to invest in some things on sale. You'll be able to tell how much more you want to lose, in comparison to what you want to wear. men do tend to lose much quicker than women, and how much you exercise will make a difference too. -
I get the Oh Yeah bars at vitacost.com . I get everything there. Vitamins, soy crisps (yummy) Protein shakes. You name it, and they have it. it's usually the cheapest there too. Their shipping is free if you order $49 and my orders are always that much. The Power Crunch bars are really good too, but they are cheaper at Walmart.

Sleeved 2 Years Out Plus
Oregondaisy replied to cudlyqt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Living with the band is a nightmare. Living with the sleeve is like living a normal life. I can eat anything I want, in smaller portions. There is not one food I can't eat. I've been able to eat normally as soon as I progressed through the post op diet. I have never regretted having my band to sleeve revision. I am just glad I had it done as soon as I started having band problems. I know people who have had so much damage from the band, they had to have it removed and can't have any revision surgery. -
Cardio Vs Weight Training For Weight Loss, Wyo?
Oregondaisy replied to emily_0192010's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I do weight training first and cardio afterwards. This is how I was taught at the gym I started going to several years ago. They have had trainers come and go, so I've had sessions with several personal trainers. They have always said to do weight training first, and cardio afterwards. Weight training is a really good way to help the skin issues. I have a lot of muscle on my thighs, so I don't have loose skin there. -
Help Plz! I Don't Want To Panic :s
Oregondaisy replied to Allie ALii's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gall bladder pain is high on the right side, under your boobs, where your ribs start. Appendix is lower on the right side, down a little bit to the left of your right hip. So perhaps that narrows it down ?
