Im So Scared To Do This!
Oregondaisy replied to JentryB2020's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Don't worry that being sleeved is anything like the band. The band is a nightmare! Living with the sleeve is living a normal life, eating small portions of anything. -
Have you not even considered Dr. Aceves in Mexicali? For 8750 you could have surgery by one of the most experienced sleeve surgeons around, and stay 3 days in a wonderful hospital.

egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad. If chicken bothers you , put it in a blender before you make the chicken salad. White fish is good. Have you checked out the ricotta bake in the recipes in the food forum? At 3 months, these should work for you.

If you have a Costco, the Premier are great. I haven't heard of anyone not liking them.

Soy crisps are yummy. They come in all sorts of flavors. I like the BBQ and the White Cheddar.

Would You Do It Again For Just 70 Pounds To Lose?
Oregondaisy replied to JLOR's topic in The Gals' Room
My only regret was getting the band first and not the sleeve. I didn't know about the sleeve back then. I wish it had come out while I was younger. I don't regret this for one second, and haven't for over 3 years. I had about 30 lbs to lose when I had my band out. -
. I don't know where other people get it. I get it really cheap at a local restaurant supply company here in town. I hear Whole Foods and Sam's club carry them. I only pay around $3 a bottle. I think Amazon has them. Shop around cause they should not cost that much. Oh I do use orange all the time, in my Matrix Orange cream Protein drinks. They don't taste orange enough to me, without adding the extra sf syrup. I also use coconut a lot.

Get an IUD. The ones without hormones are great. I know women who have had them for a very long time with no complaints what so ever. Once it's put in , you can pretty much forget about it.

Hair Loss-Why Doesn't Anyone Talk About It?
Oregondaisy replied to buckeyefan1985's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I did lose half of my hair. Mine did grow back in curly. It's crazy. I have had straight hair my entire life. I am now learning how to deal with curly hair. -
I am so glad you caught this early . God certainly was watching out for you. I will keep you in my prayers every day . Hugs!

Vets Best Way To Tone Your Legs
Oregondaisy replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Squats and lunges are really good for your legs. Do you go to a gym? There are some really good machines that isolate the thighs. -
I put the toasted marshmallow in my sf hot chocolate. Their website has a bunch of recipes on it. I think everyone has their own preference. Someone told me that cookie dough was really good. I didn't think it was.

Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just saw the picture and it says it's the May addition. I hope I can find it now. -

I so miss White Castles . They have them frozen but they aren't nearly as good. Sometimes I have to buy them though. There was a White Castle right across the street from my H.S. in chicago, but there are none on oregon!

Acronyms - Lets Make A List...
Oregondaisy replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The one that stumped me that I see all the time here is SMH shaking my head. There is a huge list if you google net lingo. -
Of course I don't mind you jumping in! The more the merrier! Your eating looks very good. CLK, I am a big baby when it comes to exercising. The only way I can do it is at the gym in front of the TV. They have TVs in front of all the cardio equipment. I plan my exercise according to what I want to watch on TV. ( in the morning) If I get lost in a show, it's a lot more bearable. I also really enjoy walking with friends, but I never walk alone. I wish I could force myself to get out there by myself and go and walk. It's so hard now, cause I can eat anything. I can put something in my mouth without even thinking or planning. It's so hard if I see someone else eating, like my hubby. I have a friend who is sleeved, and it's gotten where I can't even go to her house. She eats bags and bags full of candy, but doesn't gain weight. I can weight immediately if I have any. I've recently discovered Power Crunch bars. They are 200 calories, 10 carbs 10 Protein. They are so good, like a candy bar. The only problem is, I don't need 200 extra calories for any reason. It's not like they fill me up , or I would eat one for lunch. Why does life have to be so fattening? And why can my husband eat 4 candy bars a day and not gain an ounce? where is the mad face? A smiley just won't do in this rant!

Anyone Have Gastric Sleeve Surgery 5 Or More Years Ago?
Oregondaisy replied to thin soon's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well I've been sleeved 3 years. I am doing great. This board hasn't even been around 5 years, so it maybe difficult to find someone 5 years out. There are some people on Obesityhelp.com who post on the maintenance board who maybe that far out. -
Terrified Of "dumping" Syndrome!
Oregondaisy replied to Dons2.0's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it definitely can be controlled. It's more common when you're first sleeved, and your insides are first getting used to new foods. If you follow all the rules, you could make sure it doesn't happen. When you're very first sleeved, you'll be on a liquid diet. liquids in, Liquids out. That's when people experience the most problems with diarrhea. After that, when you're mostly eating Protein, the opposite problem starts to happen. -
Anyone With Barretts Esophagus? Help!
Oregondaisy replied to justme360's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There are people who have severe acid reflux/GERD with the sleeve. The majority of us don't, but I do know people who have a very hard time keeping it under control. These are people who had no trouble with it before they were sleeved. Barretts is very serious. You need to do a lot of research before you make any decisions. -
Don't let her get a band. They should be taken off the market. Just read the band to sleeve revision forum. The band is a nightmare!

Is There A Spell Check Here?
Oregondaisy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
donkay thanks Ken! I totally get you cause OH's software is horrible. I never knew that you had to choose the language. The red line now appears over donkay. My lap top is a PC (Dell) not a Mac. I am not sure which version of firefox it is, but I always update every time I get the "update available" message. Everything is working great now that you told me to do the language thing. Thanks again!! -
Across the top, I see bold, Italics, Underline, etc. All other message boards have an ABC or something to indicate a spell check. I thought I remembered Alex saying there was a spell check. I am not seeing it. Are there different versions here depending on which browser you use?
