Omg! I Don't Like Greek Yogurt...

Use the powdered sf cheese cake pudding mix with any kind of fat free plain Greek yogurt. You can add other flavors in there too. I love adding Torani sf coconut syrup . The cheese cake pudding makes it thick, so you can add a bit of flavoring and it's not too thin.

    Switching Ppi

Zantac is an acid reducer. We need acid blockers. Zantac is not a PPI.

Yes it's funny how everyone is so different. Protonix works great for me. I'm so glad.

Omg! I Don't Like Greek Yogurt...

Try mixing in sf cheesecake pudding into plain greek yogurt. It's delicious. You can experiment on how much pudding mix you need to add in.

    Yummy Calcium

I'd like to get the calcet choc chews but their shipping is ridiculous. I've been trying to find someone else that sells them where I could get a flat shipping rate for everything I order. vitacost.com is 4.99 no matter how much you order , or free shipping if it's over $49. There's some places that sell bariatric stuff that has better shipping rates.
  6. Really, everyone is different. Something one person just raves about, another person hates. The best thing you can do is go to the food forum and under protein drink, there is thread "places to get samples." Just try a few and see what you like before you buy a big container of anything.

    Torani

I get mine for $3 a bottle at a restaurant supply company. I put them in Plain Non fat Greek yogurt. I love coconut. I also put it in protein shakes. I love both mint and coconut in the chocolate. In my orange cream protein shake, I also add more orange flavoring..

    Lost Friends Due To Intensions

If you live in a large area, you can check out meetup.com . There are all sorts of meetups, in big cities. Book discussion, Hiking groups, etc. It's a great way to make friends who are interested in the same things . I live in a little hick town, so the only meet ups I see here are young mothers looking for someone to play with their kids. I have friends though, that go to all sorts of meet up activities.
  9. I have been around these boards for a long time. that is very true. 6 years this December, since I started on lap band talk. I have never seen a negative post about Dr. Aceves. I am not just saying that because he was my surgeon. I've just never seen one. I've seen them from other surgeons, but never Dr. Aceves. I've never seen anyone post that they had any complications from their surgery with him, or had a negative experience there at Almater Hospital.

    Old Ways Omg

I can chew gum and I do all the time. I have no problem with it. When I was in the hospital getting sleeved, they brought me crystal light with a straw. I can't drink without a straw. Well I can, but I get way more fluids in every day if I use one.

Over 60 and having the sleeve

I'll be 60 in a few days. I was sleeved 3 1/2 years ago. As I notice all my friends putting on more and more weight, I am really glad I finally did something about my weight problem. I hope I added years to my life.
  12. It's no accident that you can do searches on here or other sleeve message boards, and you won't find anyone ever posting about having complications after being sleeved by Dr. Aceves. You'll find complication threads about other surgeons though.

    Old Ways Omg

I have times like that all the time. I would have to drive to the store though. I don't keep anything like that in the house. My problem are 100 calorie bags. I have several varieties that are my favorite. I can eat one, and that's fine. But later on I want another, and after that, another. It takes a lot of willpower sometimes!
  14. I think in the Mexico forum on Obesity Help, you'll find the stories you're looking for.
  15. Don't feel like a fool Dawn. You didn't do anything different from hundreds or thousands of other mothers. You had no way of knowing you would be in the small percentage of complications. With the low bmi you have, it was normal to think you would recover very quickly, like the rest of us with low bmi's.
  16. Thanks for clearing up which issue that Newsweek article is in.
  17. My problem is definitely at night too. I have to really commit to staying low carb and it will get rid of the cravings. I can't do liquids anymore and stick to it, but I can stick to all protein.

    Clear Protein?

I used GNC's brand of unflavored whey protein and added it to all the clear liquids I could have. I also used some Isopure.

I Really Hate Those Interdry Ads!

It seems so strange to me to hear you talk about ads, I am really glad I see no ads on here. I know it would really annoy me. I don't even know where they would go. My whole screen is filled up with vertical sleeve talk. I am so glad I use firefox!

    Protein Bars?

You want to watch how many carbs are in them. You want more protein than carbs. I don't like the ones with too much sugar alcohol in them because that gives me bad gas. I love the power crunch bars from Walmart. I also get Oh yeah bars online at vitacost.com The choc./peanut butter does not have sugar alcohol but a lot of their flavors do.

    Dry Curly Hair

Funny, I am just learning this stuff. I've had such straight hair all of my life, that for years, I got perms. Between band and sleeve, I lost half my hair. When it grew back in, it grew back curly. I have no idea how to deal with curly hair. It's crazy! I am going to take notes here.

    Yummy Calcium

I've never been able to find any type of calcium citrate at Walmart, other than tablets. I've seen calcium carbonate in gummies, but not calcium citrate.

    Yummy Calcium

The Bariatric Advantage ones you want are the chews not the chewable tablets. These are similar to a tootsie roll. they are delicious. I bet if you called them, they would send you a sample. I actually have 2 bags sent to me, cause they only provide 500 of calcium and I need 1500 a day. So I have to take capsules for the last 500. Like I said, If you put them on auto ship, it's 9.99 a month but that's only for 500 mg.

    Yummy Calcium

How much is it? I pay 9.99 for choc chews from bariatric advantage. It's on auto ship so it shows up on my doorstep once a month.

    Foods I Will Miss

You know, I am almost 3 1/2 years out here, and that's a question I should be able to answer. I don't drink beer though. I've never liked it. I have a lot of sleeved friends, and none of them like beer either. if I had to guess, I would say it would be something that would be sort of hard to drink. The carbonation would make you feel full really fast. If you drank it slowly, I am sure it would work once you're cleared for alcohol. It's pretty much like soda though. Doctors will say carbonation will stretch the sleeve. You do get pretty drunk easily once you're sleeved though. The alcohol gets into your blood stream sooner.
