I think that face book group is called gastric sleeve recipes. I am on a whole list of facebook groups. None of them are vets only groups though. I can add you if you want! I do not drink alcohol. If I do, I get really drunk on one drink. i don't like that feeling. I still don't drink with my meals. It makes me feel sick. I do usually take a tiny sip of Water when I am done eating.

It's a horrible feeling when your sleeve is too full. People will say "Oh I can't believe you can't finish one last bite" and I say " My stomach doesn't stretch. If I eat too much, it will just come up" The hardest thing is pizza. I can comfortably eat one piece, but I so want to push it and try to eat a few extra bites and I am miserable.

Cash and Carry is the best place to get them 3.99 a bottle. If you don't have a Cash and Carry, look for a restaurant supply company because it's way cheaper than buying them anywhere else.

2 cups erythritol (powdered, not granulated) What is this? Where do you get it?

I belong to so many facebook sleeve groups. The one I like the best is actually a sleeve recipe/meal planning group. There are people who used to be on VST on some of these fb groups. The main reason there aren't all that many vets around here is because sleeved people are happy people. The people who usually come to boards are having problems, or are new and just want to talk to other newbies. The vets aren't having any problems. They have learned how and what to eat. We just stick around mainly to help newbies and to socialize. That's my 2 cents. I do like the powder room and the recipe section. I have a real vets question. Do you ever force yourself to throw up? It's not like I set out to do this. I don't think " I am really going to go and eat too much and then force myself to puke" It's more like I go out to eat with friends, I am talking and not paying attention and all of a sudden it feels like my sleeve is going to burst open. I hate that feeling. I can see how being sleeved could turn someone to bulimia. I actually have a friend that happened to. I have to be very careful and pay close attention when I am eating in restaurants.

I have to say, i am really glad my urologist insisted I go in and get my kidney stone blasted instead of staying in pain. It doesn't sound to me like I would have been able to tolerate the pain. I have a very low pain tolerance. I wish you felt better Sannah. I am coming to Portland on Sunday and I will be there until Wednesday.

Sannah, I think when you think of surgery you think they are going to cut you open. You would have to have gigantic huge kidney stones before they would cut into your kidney through your back. Yours may be too big to pass, but they aren't that big that you would need that kind of surgery. All they would do is hit you with ultra sound and break them up so they are as small as grains of sand. I have another appt with my urologist and then I will ask him how long he is going to wait to see what's going on with the kidney stone I was left with in my other kidney. so far, it doesn't bother me, but it freaks me out that it could grow and move. The one that he blew up so I could pass was huge in my right kidney. I was on the border of having to have it taken out through my back. I didn't want to go that route either. I am glad the ultra sound method worked. My test showed my kidney stone was made from calcium and I am supposed to drink things with citric acid like lemonaide to keep stones from forming.

I ate a lot of veggies. I got sick of meat. I am lucky because I love my Protein shakes. They are treats like milk shakes for me. Some days I just did a lot of veggies and 3 or 4 Protein Shakes.

I don't know why they are waiting for the results of that urine test before they break up the stones. I had the same test. I collected all my urine in 2 huge containers and they sent it away. It took forever for the results to come back. In the mean time, I went to day surgery, and he blew up the stones with ultra sound and the pain was gone immediately. He said I would not feel them passing because they were now smaller than grains of sand. I was so happy not to be peeing blood anymore! I went home in a few hours feeling 100% better. I still have a kidney stone in my left kidney. So far, it's not growing or trying to pass. My urologist said it's very common for WLS patients to get kidney stones. He doesn't know why.

A thread for people who dont argue, name call, dictate or generally just be nasty.

Yeah, I have heard all those stories about ambien. I am really lucky. I take it and get in bed and wake up about 6 hours later. I wish I could sleep longer. Sometimes I do lay there a long time before I can fall asleep. I have no desire to get up and eat or talk on the phone or drive or any of the things I've heard people do. I am sure DH would love for me to wake him up, but all I want to do is fall asleep! -

I haven't been able to sleep for years. It's a very big problem. I take Ambien and I am sure that's the problem now, because I would never be able to sleep at all without it. -

calcium carbonate vs calcium citrate
Oregondaisy replied to Fiddleman's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I get my calcium citrate chews on auto ship from bariatric advantage. I eat 4 of them a day and it costs me 20.00 a month. I love them though. They taste like tootsie rolls and are a real treat. It's well worth the money to me. -
The ones I get are usually asking questions about Dr. Aceves and I am happy to share my experiences there.

If you test positive, they will give you different medications to take to get rid of it. -
I ended up getting pancreatitis when I didn't get my gall bladder out fast enough. I really feel for you Sannah. I had a lot of pain with my kidney stone until I had the surgery. I just hope I don't form any more kidney stones. I was told to drink a lot of lemonaide to prevent kidney stones.

Delicious No Carb -High Protein Pizza

Have any of you tried the cauliflower pizza crust. It's delicious! It's amazing that it comes out like pizza crust. Very important to drain the cauliflower well between paper towels though after cooking it. -

Maybe tracking would cut down on my grazing. That would be worth it. -
Official Ongoing Gastric Sleeve Maintenance Thread

You're in the right place and I definitely relate to everything you said. I am amazed sometimes at how much I can eat now, compared to the old days. You're doing better than me though. At least you track your food. I don't even know how to do that. I can't figure out how to calculate a bloob of ketchup or all the little bites here and there that I know add up. Just keep doing the best you can with your food choices. Meat and veggies . I know if I eat a lot of meat first, there's not as much room for the carbs I'd rather have. I have to put file folders on the bowls of candy at work so I don't see it. I hired a trainer to learn some new exercises. I think it's important with exercise to mix things up cause your body gets used to the same exercise and it's not effective. -
Addictions. Questions On This

The best thing to get addicted to is exercise. It feels really good when you're done, and it helps build muscle where there used to be flab. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Oregondaisy replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know part of my problem is that I have no idea how to log my food into my fitnesspal. So many things are a bite of this or a blob of that. I don't measure my sour cream if I put it on my taco meat, or blob of ketchup on my meat. I know everyone says they do better if they track their food, but I have no clue how to do that.
